Cant see Knight staying personally, id like to see Sibley given a chance if he is to leave could be his breakout season.
If Knight leaves, Sibbo would definitely take that role. I think he's got a higher ceiling in the long-term too.

Even without Hourihane (if he is in talks with 'uddersfield):
Wildsmith
Byrne Davies Cashin Buchanan
Bird Johnson
Barkhuizen Knight Mendez-Laing
NEW CFI'm feeling a lot more positive about the start of the new season now! COYFR! ?

I think younger signings for the long-term would be good too... however, these are the players that every team will be looking for! Not many of that age are available for nothing and I don't think we'll be spending fees any time soon. We're still under an embargo so, for now, we'll just have to go with the best players available to us. If these are players in their early to mid 30s that will be coming in on free transfers then so be it if that's what it takes to give us a competitive side this year.

A few interesting ones I've noticed that are now free agents:
Moses Odubajo. Would be a good replacement for Byrne if rumours are true about him.
Sheyi Ojo has been let go by Liverpool. Quick winger who's spent the last few years out on loan at clubs such as Millwall, Cardiff and Rangers. Seemed to be in and out of the Millwall team last season.
John Marquis. Didn't pull up any trees with Lincoln last year but is a proven goalscorer at this level in the past (around a goal every 3 games on average over the last 5-6 years).
Vadaine Oliver. Strong centre-forward. Managed around a 1 in 3 strike rate in a Gillingham side that battled relegation (and did get relegated eventually) both years he was there. It'd be interesting to see if he could improve on that with better service.

People moaning about signing 33 year old Chester when the first signing they want is 37 year old Curtis Davies and were quite happy with 39 year old Phil Jaguelka?
People moaning about 31 year old Conor Hourihane because he’s too old?
Some people to wake up and smell the coffee. These would be great signings for any league one club.
Just because we’re having to bring in frees with experience doesn’t mean we can’t sign some good young loanees

This!
Chester, Hourihane, Barkhuizen, one of Huddz/Johnson and an experienced CF would be amazing for L1.
We had a very young squad last season and I'd say around 6 of the signings we're on about bringing in need to be experienced.
Complement this with finding some youngsters let go by bigger teams and we'll be on our way to building something competitive.
The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is the amount of CMs north of 30 we're being linked with when CM is probably the position where we're least in need of loads of reinforcements! We've already got Bird, Tommo, Knight, Sibley and Bielik (although, admittedly, the latter might be off on loan to a Championship team soon).

Well now we can start speculating!
Assuming we're still interested in players that we've been linked with before (and rumours of up to 10 new signings coming through the doors coming to fruition) the squad could look a bit like this:
GK: NEW, Wildsmith, Foulkes
RB: Byrne (or NEW if he leaves), Bardell
CB: Chester, Stearman, Davies, Cashin
LB: Buchanan (or NEW if he leaves), Forsyth
CM/DM: Bird, Robinson, Hourihane, Thompson
RM: Barkhuizen, Richards
AM: Knight, Sibley
LM: Lawrence (yes, very unlikely, I know!), Mendez-Laing
ST: Collins, Niasse, Kazim-Richards, Cybulski, StrettonNot bad!

Someone on the Bristol City Forum is not really happy, here is post from a few minutes ago,
Well I didn't think they would go bankrupt though I am glad they have suffered.
I was pondering the other day whether it would change their fans much but I doubt it- in certain aspects ie EFL regs and so forth, the most arrogant, know-nothing fanbase I have seen at this level- I am not including those who are largely PL just down for a while but consistently Championship based clubs. Clowes seems decent from early bits and what I've read- they don't deserve him I expect a sizeable minority of their entitled fans. Wish I'd gone to Pride Park in April but there's still time.
Sharpen that pencil Mr. Couhig unless the claim has already been settled. Key q too is what % to HMRC...are they FOIable.

Hope I get to meet Mr Ploppy Pants in person one day... If he comes across IRL like he does online I'll happily deck the Bamford!

We need players signed up... take the club and stadium without the training ground if it's going to take much longer! We can train on Markeaton Park for a few weeks and sort the training ground at a slightly later date, surely?

"Ongoing patience"?! My patience ran out around the end of May when they kept extending Kirchner's PB status when it was becoming obvious that the money wasn't going to arrive. Taking the $£!&ing p*ss!
The players we have lined up will go elsewhere at this rate and we'll be left with the dregs.

Omar Niasse is someone we were linked with heavily in the past, played for Burton too, wouldn't be suprised if he was training with us.
Likes our kind of game too... Can distinctly remember watching a Burton game with some Brewers supporting mates last season and Jimmy Floyd shouted "get a hold of the ball Oumar!"... His response along the lines of: "how can I get hold of the thing when it's that far in the ducking air!"

Well the Rosenior announcement was made at 16:15... Looking for a sign... Any sign ?

Well we need more than one GK... Wildsmith on a free on a low wage would be a good squad option if we could get in say Jason Steele or Dillon Phillips on loan as first choice.

Depends what kind of system we're looking to play... 2 up front then definitely! He holds the ball up well and would bring a lot of chances to a strike partner... As a lone striker, I think we need someone with a better strike rate.
