I’m ashamed of myself I actually got annoyed we equalised. I’ve never thought this about Derby, ever.

That man is ruining our club 😭

While I don’t think Paul Warne is the reincarnation of Brian Clough, the man that actually ruined our club put us into administration left us with no ground and a pile of debt then cleared off

3 promoted clubs all in the bottom three. Forest and Bournemouth, two clubs promoted the season before, make up the bottom five. Meanwhile in the Championship, the three relegated from the PL make up the top four.

    Why bother?

All 3 promoted teams stayed up last season as much as I wanted forest to get relegated. Of the 3 teams that came up this season only Burnley had immediately bounced back to the premier league. 14 clubs out of the 20 currently in the premier league have at sometime played in the EFL since the premier leagues inception in 1992. Several of these clubs have in fact  played in leagues 1&2, Luton actually fell out of the EFL altogether should these teams have thought why bother or would you prefer our leagues to be like the USA and have no promotion or relegation. As much as it pains me to say it I’d love to swap positions with forest right now.

My dad ran a mobile shop business all over Chaddesden, but not sure if it went all the way to the bottom of Scarborough Rise.

My brother and I made the mistake of riding our newly acquired but distinctly second-hand pushbikes around the Beaufort Street area (Cowley Road(?) actually, and got beaten up and had the bikes stolen. But at least we had bikes for two days, so not bad for Chadd!

I can’t remember a mobile shop being around Scarborough Rise, but when I used to go round my cousins on Matlock road we’d often go on the mobile van that did the rounds around that area

Does your link to the Henry Cavite make you a Chadd lad?

If so, Hi! I grew up on Wilson Road!

If you met mucker you wouldn’t think he’d been to school 😀

He must’ve got one of his sisters to do his maths exam

we both went to Darwin and Henry Cav

Far be it from me to tell you your birthday, but can I request a stewards enquiry on that please!

That game (08/01/1983) was 12 days before my 20th birthday, and I always had you down as being just 1 school year behind me?  🤷‍♂️

2 school years I was same year as granty I was one of the younger ones in my year DOB 21/7/65

  6. 1. v forest 1983 won 2-0 so unexpected because we were really poor at the time also lots of animosity due to Peter Taylor being in charge of Derby against Clough’s forest. I was 17 at the time Derby was absolutely buzzing that night (pre getting checked for ID in pubs)

    2. v Newcastle 1976 won QF 4-2 we were brilliant I was convinced we were going to win the cup that year

    3. v Liverpool 1976 won 1-0 I think Roger Davies came off the bench to score a late winner, it was absolutely rammed my dad managed to get a 10 year me stood on the concrete block round the floodlights so I could see

    4. v Sheffield United away 1986 won 1-0 Hindmarch (RIP) goal, we had a massive away following

    5. v forest away 2009 won 3-2 came back from 2 down to win replay and to cap it all Kris Commons scored the winner in front of the rams fans

worst FA Cup experience losing semi final to United in 1976

If you have the time and inclination to watch cricket that seems a good deal.

Do you know what one off T20 tickets are, just curious?

I retired 3 years ago I’ve had a ticket since then

T20 tickets are around £20 about a fiver more for the Notts and Yorkshire games

you can buy a membership for just the T20 games I think they’re £89 you get 7 home games in T20

  8. My early bird Derbyshire membership cost me £199, for that you get admittance to every form of cricket, you can also have 2 junior Membership’s (under 15) for free as well as 5 free day tickets (excluding T20). You also get 10% off any purchases at the ground, having said that it’s £6.50 a pint, but you can take your own beer in apart from T20 matches

They can be bought as slightly discounted rates through clubs, but a 6N game involving ENgland at Twickenham will set you back around £300 to £400 for half decent seats. We did get to see Fiji dry hump there before the RWC for around 10% of that cost though.

Is that the Fiji version of the Hakka

  10. Thought Fury was awful and under estimated Ngannou, but thought the decision could have gone either way. I had fury winning the 1st, 5th & 6th rounds with Ngannou winning 3rd (10/8) and the 7th. I thought the other 5 rounds could’ve gone either way

Honestly think the overseas makes all the difference. We got a mixed bag from Haider and almost nothing from Lakmal. Your overseas needs to be the players that turn all those draws into some wins.

We struggle to take 20 wickets in a match we desperately need Amir to fire next season and hopefully he’ll stop all season I think he’s only signed for the first half at the moment

  12. Watching the latest shambles of the England 50 over side currently 85/5 against a struggling Sri Lanka side

what can you expect when we’ve turned our domestic 50 over competition into a second XI knockabout and we hardly play any ODI matches in comparison to other sides

also of the eleven starting today’s game nobody is under the age of 30

    Nice looking squad developing 😊

I thought that this time last year, didn’t quite go as I thought it would

on a other issue I see we are involved in the T20 blast off again at edgebaston on June 1st. I know we are probably being compensated but it looks like we’ll be giving up a home fixture again.

Indeed. I realized my error but too late to edit. What a waste Saha was discarded for England after two friendlies and now plays for the Ivory Coast. An amazing player.

Your having a bad night Carl it was Zaha that played for Ivory Coast, Saha was a french international

It's the same as football mate - the contest is still epic, but the money has ruined the sport.

At least the best teams still play each other in football whilst boxers can make more money without taking risky fights very rarely do you get the top fighters going head to head. I’ve just watched Hagler v Hearns on sky boxing classics what a scrap that was, I remember listening to it on the radio while I was on a night shift at Royce’s can’t believe it was nearly 40 years ago

In the final game of the 1990-91 season we faced Luton at the BBG. We were bottom and already relegated. Luton and Sunderland, both former clubs of Mick Harford, were vying with Man City on the final day to stay up. Luton opened the scoring when Mick crashed a bullet header past a gobsmacked Peter Shilton for an own goal. The Hatters won 2-0 and stayed up with Man City, sending Sunderland down with us. We all questioned afterwards if Mick had purposely come to the rescue of his old club. Many dismissed the thought because a professional footballer would never do that surely? When he retired as a player, Mick admitted that he had done just that to help Luton avoid the drop.

I think they also beat us 3-2 at the BBG in the last game of the 89/90 season to stay up on goal difference, if Mick Harford had scored a hat trick of own goals I don’t think anybody would have said anything to him

  17. I was 9 when we signed him and thought why have we signed him he’s past it, how wrong was I for two seasons he was superb and was a big part in us winning the league in 1975. When he wasn’t fighting with Norman Hunter he played with a smile on his face. RIP

Can never let things go to a judges card in the states.  Only place worse is Germany for home decisions.  Dodgy judging and too much ref protection.  It's a bugger but a knockout or two knockdowns are normally required

There are a lot less stoppages in women’s boxing probably due to 2 minute rounds and championship bouts only over 10 rounds. Sandy fights for Hearn perhaps he can put her in touch with Conor Benns chemist

  19. Joyce looks shot to pieces had no belief at all after defeat in first fight, can’t see where he goes from here he’s 38. Zhang deserves a shot at a world title but I wouldn’t bet on him getting one we’ll see Fury/Chisora 4,5 and 6 before that
