Is it possible for a manager to do a Nigel Clough job at a slower rate is the question ?

    Evening lads, pompey fan here.
Think you'll win this, we're in terrible form.
Injuries have blighted our good start, and at one stage we were playing out 4th, 5th and 6th choice players in midfield. Morecambe should have wolloped us Saturday, and we're winless for about seven matches now.
Although we are unbeaten at home for about 15 matches, many of those have been draws though.
If you're driving down I'd advise get to the area early as parking is terrible around the ground. It's off street parking, and spaces are rare on a match day. You might find it easier to park around the Southsea area and walk to the ground.
The designated away fan pub is The Good Companion, about 500yrds from the away end. Although you'd be welcome in any pub around the ground. The days are long gone regards local pubs not allowing away fans in.
We've started work on expanding the away end, so you'll probably find the away end a bit sparce at one side, due to seats and old terracing having been ripped up ready for renewal.
There's no alcohol on sale inside the away end (some rule about fans aren't allowed to drink in sight of the pitch), hence why the away end is being redeveloped with new hidden concourses.
It's a sell out for home fans, think our home capacity is around 16,000, so add on what you lot bring down and probably looking at a 17,000+ crowd.
    Good luck lads.
    Prediction pompey 1 Derby 2

    Pompey fan here.
Safe trip Friday here and home.
If you haven't been, plenty of good places around the stadium. Behind the fratton end (opposite stand to away stand) there is a big tesco directly behind. Also KFC, mcdonalds etc across the road from tesco and subway around the corner. Shops etc close by too.
The away end is currently being redeveloped so there won't be any home fans in that stand. The game has been soldout for about 3 weeks for home fans. Expecting a good following from Derby too. Glad to see you're sorted off the field and look to be playoff candidates this season.
Pompey hit a bad patch of form, we've had some injuries but still fans aren't very happy with lots of draws and it looks like another season of fighting for top 6 when the expectation was top 2.
We haven't lost at home in the league in nearly a year, we are hard to beat at home but do draw quite a lot so I dont expect a loss. I think it'll be a score draw.

    Should be a good game.

Our press just won a corner from them. We’ve made it to half time having had a few corners and a couple of half chances with the scores level, in my humble view it’s not as “embarrassing” as you’ve made out.
The reality of where we are as a club means there’s a gulf in class, if we were in the championship that would still be the case. Liverpool have recently won the premier league and the champions league and are one of the biggest clubs in the country with vast resources at their disposal. I’m enjoying the grit and resilience the lads are showing

We need to let them score first then score twice in the last two minutes so they don't bring Nunez and Firmino on. ?

Paul Warne in the match reaction is hilarious, ' if a player don't run for us, he will be sat behind me'. Every interview he does is funny and entertaining, it's quite a different/honest and refreshing approach to football. Paul Warnes black and white army.

So we got a completely different way of playing, put together in only 5 days, and it worked! Although it is only doing what most of us have wanted us to do for the last who knows how many years! But its here! Woo Hoo!!!
It wasn't particularly pretty to watch, but it wasn't ugly either. And some of the lack of class was because Cambridge were in our faces from the start, and stayed the all match. Since when have we managed to withstand that?
So we got the ball going forwards quickly, we pressed and challenged all over the pitch for the entire 95.something minutes and actually believed in ourselves! Collins was in his element, Knight played very well, but strangely for him looked knackered by about 75 minutes. Bird absolutely flourished, putting in great tackles and interceptions, and that disguised lay-off to Collins for the 2nd goal was an absolute peach! Wildsmith looked confident, mainly because he was playing in goal today, instead of advance midfield, and the defence meant that he didn't actually have a shot to save, just a few crosses and a couple of through balls. And that ref - he seemed to miss quite a lot of fouls, but in reality it is more likely that he simply let them go to keep the game flowing, and I am happy with that.
I'm almost of a mind to set off towards Pride Park ready for next Saturday's match already - I can hardly wait! Are we really back to great days ahead?

Indeed the result at 5 o'clock tomorrow is the key thing BUT am already really enjoying "Warney's" appearances on Rams TV pre-match.
Funny bobble hats, use of words like "narcissistic" and superb attention to detail like the "Why wall". Understanding one another's motivations brings teams closer together and builds tight bonds which then get translated into fighting for one another on the pitch. Sure some people may think that's verging on the naff BUT I can assure you that's the sort of "compassionate leadership" that a certain Mr Brian Howerd Clough practised every week with his teams; It's high emotional intelligence and it builds trust and an espirit de corps very quickly. I wonder where Warney has picked up these practices because they are the very same that organisational leadership experts are preaching across the Globe, because they work and produce highly performing and productive teams.

We'll obviously your not bothered in anyone elses opinions only your own. But here goes. He was at a tiny club with a tiny stadium and no budget, how can he compete when most teams in the championship have probably triple their budget, at least. You'd only give 4 year contracts to someone who has a successful track record at different clubs and leagues....good luck with that, unfortunately peps not available yet but I have it on good authority he's on DC's speed dial just in case. Jesus.

AlvoRam! reacted to IlsonDerby in Rosenior or Warne?
Think Rosenior needs a club that isn’t seen as a scalp by 90% of the division if I’m honest. most clubs happy to watch us pass between Cashin and Davies pick their moment to press and punish us on the counter or by forcing an error.

some great football at times but how much is down to him? You put 11 good players at this level together and they’re going to occasionally click and produce good play.

I like Rosenior but like others I was a little concerned when I saw his team talks. Doesn’t look like he’s got a bollocking in him. I think he’ll be a successful manager but I think he’ll need to do it out of the limelight at a smaller club where he can overachieve. Overachievement probably isn’t possible here due to the size…

The thing that best pleased me today was Rosenior knowing he has to mix it up and not be afraid.

That gives me hope that we can adapt our style of play when needed.

He’s still got a lot to learn though.
