I'm not really interested in what he had for tea last night or his favourite Backstreet Boy

Tyler Durden reacted to On the Ram Page in Warne Out Out
There were loads of people on here saying we should have kept Rosenior. I can’t be bothered to go back and look, but if you don’t believe me (or Returning Ram , go and have a look for yourself, sure you will find plenty of examples.

A few people on here use the ‘let Warne get us out of the division’ argument.
I remember a similar argument with regards to Billy getting us out of the Championship.
He did the job but, because he’d drummed a negative anti-football mindset into the players, we were then ill equipped for what laid in what and, despite a few transfers, produced a team that is now the butt of everyone’s jokes.
Are we so happy that the mindless tactics and negative thinking, I.e., setting up to nullify the mighty Shrewsbury at home, may cause irreparable damage that our players may not easily recover from, even if we bought in some new faces.
Short-term, ‘just get us up Warnie’ thinking may only kick-the-can down the road to next season where we’re languishing at the bottom of the championship.
Ipswich from last year should be our model, try and get some sort of footballing philosophy going that you can build on if/when you move upwards; although I do accept they had a transfer kitty last season, and that, of course, helps.
But, back to my point, negative short-termist win-at-all-costs football may set us up for more pain in the long run and anyone who thinks we can use Warne to get us promoted, sack him and bring someone else in, must realise that the damage is already being done.
He seems like a nice guy and I’ve got nothing against him personally, the irony is that ‘failed’ football managers get such juicy payoffs that they don’t have to worry so much about the things us ‘ordinary folk’ do; so they don’t really lose in the end.
I’m going tomorrow night and I just wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of good football from the Rams, it’s not loads to ask for is it 🤷♂️

Poor us. It's a miracle we're this far awaay from relegation with our pathetic c£14m wage bill. Warne should be manager of the year based on where we are in the league and the budget available to him.
To help copare our amazing useof funds, Bolton and Charlton were only just above the £10m mark in their last set of accounts. No other current L1 was above that figure.

Well you support my point. You say we are all shouting for Liam, and you give one example from what, 2 weeks ago. And S8TY wasnt asking for him back. He just said in hindsight he should have been given more time. Not sure why you are looking for an apology either. You seem to be coming over as a bit of a t*****.

Tyler Durden reacted to We'll be back in 81 in Derby v Shrewsbury Town - Match Day Thread
Yes the reality is when we get a load of free transfers at league one level the quality will be league one standard without the quality everyone wants.
It is quite remarkable we are in second place when other clubs below us have spent some reasonable sums for players. So well done to the coaching and recruitment staff so far.

The "answer" to this will lie entirely with the mindset of the poster.
As the previous poster has just admirably illustrated.

I didn’t say I was happy with a point, my point was that we didn’t change our position and if we maintain that position we are promoted.
Most people would have been happy with 4 points from 2 games, so we have to look to win the next one, and then home to Stevenage, simples.

I don't want to place blame on the players here as they get told what to do by the script written by Warne, he's 100% at fault, I do wonder though if the players shared this mindset that yesterday was going to be easy, could that have played a minor part in some way as daft as it may sound?
For me, going into any game believing it will be easy is not the right mindset to have, we should approach every game the same, in that it will be difficult. The opposition will not roll over for us and allow us to tickle their bellies.
Looking at Shrewsbury, Port Vale are just 3 points behind them in the bottom 4 with 2 games in hand, they have a lot to battle for like us and battle they did. Some of those players will have been fighting for their careers at this level, the financial rewards for remaining in this league.
Looking across the forum, I can only assume you're not alone in thinking it would be easy, thinking Shrewsbury would come here and somehow just accept relegation.
Anyhow, on we go to the next difficult game.

Tyler Durden got a reaction from Jourdan in Anything positive to take from yesterday moving forwards?
As progression I remember a number of posters on here calling us flat track bullies last season as we would roll over weaker teams at home but lose against better ones.
This season that accusation has died off probably due to the fact that we are beating the better teams both home and away and in fact our away record is very, very good which again demonstrates some enhanced mental fortitude within the team but definitely not luck.
We won nothing under McClaren but played the best football I can remember. We're in League 1 so if the football is pragmatic at times then so be it. Am sure the same detractors would complain if we were playing free flowing football but were midtable. That's life.

The kiss of death for any football manager is poor performances AND poor results.
Even the most narrow minded supporter of the club has to begrudgingly admit that second in the table is a good position to be in.
If we were hovering around midtable then my stance might be different however as we're not then it's a moot point.

Tyler Durden reacted to Simmo’s left foot in Anything positive to take from yesterday moving forwards?
I find the vitriol against Paul Warne, and the general toxicity among a vocal minority here pretty disappointing. We are in second place! Performances have been variable to say the least, but we have scraped out some results, and nobody can expect us to win every game. The late equaliser yesterday was very disappointing, but that's football, and it happens in every division every week.
We have made the team better by signing Adams, we have CBT to get going, and we have a solid back line with options when injury and suspension strikes. We also have some attacking flair, which perhaps could be doing more.
Teams like Shrewsbury are always going to come to Pride Park looking to stop us playing and claw out a point. So really we just need to be more clinical and sort these teams out. Hopefully the addition of Adams will help.
Looking forward to tuesday and hopefully 3 points, plus if we win on saturday lets see what the table looks like. We need to get behind the team, stop the moaning and the boo boys can go elsewhere please. Football in League one is not pretty and it never will be.
