Brentford were a club that turned over players to keep the right side.

Unlike us they thought about that aspect when recruiting. And generally added value.

If our cathartic experience gets a load of wasters out of the game then that's something.

yeah they did it properly, selling Jozefzoon to us for 2.7 million for example. they'd have got a golden gabble for that type of business.

  2. Most teams that get promoted to the Championship struggle with the step up. We've shown that even with our threadbare squad as it stands is a mid-table Championship squad at best (no disrespect to the efforts, I love this team).

IF we can keep what we have now and even build upon it, I think we'll have a decent season in League One.

So would I but let's not get ahead of ourselves. It ain't going to be easy to get back up but, two things are for certain, I and many others will be there cheering them on at PP (can't wait for the day season tickets will be back on sale) and I'll be reaquainting myself with some grounds I've been to in the past plus hopefully some new ones.

Oh for sure, certainly not getting ahead of myself. It will be a hard season, League One can be just as difficult to get promoted from as the Championship.

That said, you see the occasional season where a team (like Fulham this season, Sheff Utd when they went to League One) just bosses the league, I'd love to have one of them seasons even if it is in League One.

  4. Sure, MA has more money than CK but so has Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates. Point being size of their wallet is irrelevant if they're not willing to take us on or waiting until we're barely a football club to get us as cheap as possible.

Besides I would have thought as a fanbase we'll be done with sugar daddies and I'm hoping the Derby way of buy high, high wages, get hyped by signing, get disappointed by signing and release on a free to hopefully be a thing of the past.

Just watched the documentary, you can see why our players have the fight they do with Wayne leading them. Future England manager for sure! I hope whatever happens this season he's with us for the rebuild next, most important person to keep at the club!

I really hope he stays, I'd like to think he is up for the fight even in League 1. I mean when do you get a chance to rebuild a club practically from the ground up the size of Derby in your own vision.

To put a positive spin on things; when the fixtures used to be released I always looked for:

    - When do we play Forest

    - When do we play Leeds

    - When do we play Stoke

Now, I can add Boro to the list. Football would be nothing if there weren’t teams you just love to beat. ?

For the avoidance of doubt, no, Wycombe don’t make the list. We still don’t care enough about them….?

Frankly it's just Boro for me and maybe Wycombe to a lesser extent. I don't even see Forest as our primary rival anymore, why hate a club just because they are down the road, when you have a club/s that want to see us liquidated just on the slim chance fill their pockets.

The solicitor on Radio Derby said that any court case will get thrown out as you can't sue an individual person in a company and it has to be the corporate body.

From what I understand that is correct, however it wouldn't be Mel vs Boro/Wycombe it would still be technically Derby County vs Boro/Wycombe HOWEVER Mel will sign a legal document stating should the court case be lost he will foot the bill, thus freeing any potential owner of this "debt".

At the moment all I can think about is having our club to follow.

The rest can wait for another day.

I can’t wait for the Florist game tomorrow.

    COYR ??

100% this, I'm just happy, I couldn't care less about stadium owners, transparency, player signings etc etc, that will come later.

Right now take solace in that it's likely we will have a Derby County Football Club come February and we have a football matches to win!

    COYR!!!

Absolutely agree.I do think there may be a case of Gibson just wanting someone to say his claim has some validity, or admission from the administration that there is a case to answer. Not sure it’s about the money anymore.

if that’s the case, I don’t care how wrong it feels, just agree. You don’t have to mean it. Cross your fingers behind your back or something. Just swallow a bitter pill and get the risk of liquidation off the table.

If what is stopping the takeover is between someone saying you potentially have a case rather than "go baalocks, pube head" then sure humour him.

But I fear there is more to it then that, like if we agree he has a case the investors will walk away as they don't want to take that o that baggage.

MP “hopeful” that is can be resolved.

Resolution means different things to different parties, ranging from

    1. DCFC survive in the EFL, avoid liquidation, takeover could proceed but have to sell players to pay off or settle Boro and Wycombe claims and as a consequence likely result in relegation off the pitch - mfc and Wycombe and efl want this I’m sure.

    2. We survive. No pay out of any sort to Boro or Wycombe, takeover allowed  to happen, no player sales, we continue to fight rejection on the pitch - our ideal resolution.

i think the MPs may see  ir as simply survive only!

There are other compromise survival scenarios  between these two.

I still have fight in me but the closer and closer it gets to Feb 1st I'm more inclined to say f'k it do want needs to be done to ensure we still have a Derby County Football Club and that **** *** Gibson knows this.

I will accept notts forest beating them in the semi finals of the play off before losing to crap West Brom

If we ever get out of this mess I think we need to reassess who our true rivals are, Forest are simply down the road and want to see us relegated. Boro on the other hand want to liquidate us.

Honestly, whatever happens I will always have more hatred to Middlesbrough then I ever will Forest.

  12. Not denying Rooney is working wonders but he is just an up and coming manager, the expectations of their fans would they really take the risk on Rooney? Surely by their (too high) standards, they want someone with a successful proven record in football Management.

Let's be honest Chelsea wouldn't have gone for Lampard had the transfer embargo not been in place.

The EFL can make all of this go away in an instant - they can simply say they were too harsh on Derby over the amortisation which was clearly legal but cloudy and change the punishment from minus 9 points to a suspended minus 9 points and with that statement the issues between Middlesbrough and Wycombe fold. The politicians and the government might let the EFL survive following that

please forward to mr Rick Parry

True but let's say that happened, you'd have the relegated teams like Cardiff, Reading and Hull filing legal disputes because they believe we did break rules over amortisation.

It just goes to show how ridiculous the claims by Boro and Wycombe are, the rules need to be changed to state no club can sue another club, the EFL or any individual based on hypotheticals following a decision.

I have no doubt these threats are a stalling tactic, Boro know they are not going to get 45m there are two scenarios here, they get no money because the case is dropped or they get no money because Derby County FC is no more.

If these were to stand where does it end? If an offside goal kicked us out of the play-offs or an offside goal causes us to be relegated would this allow us to sue the EFL or the club that scored said goal due to loss of potential earnings? No! but if they allow cases like the ones we have now against us to stand it would allow even more hypothetical court cases in the future.
