Sometimes I've enjoyed it, sometimes I haven't. Hasn't the the edge or atmospheres of last season, football generally of a lower quality as you'd expect. Our play doesn't particularly engage me - bits of skill and excitement amid lots of aimless percentage football. Often at PPS just a little bored. Thanks goodness for McGoldrick.
I'll be glad to see the season over whatever the outcome as it'll mean we are one step closer to being able to compete with everyone else on a level playing field.

I really think 4 nil would have very much flattered us.
As a performance its an improvement on our form of 3 weeks ago, but it wouldn't be good enough to get through the play offs.
We have had a run of playing some of the weaker teams and have drawn or won by the odd goal.
We need a 30% improvement to get past the likes of Barnsley and Sheff Wed.

You can see what Burton are up against when local lads like Max Bird are Man Utd fans, as most towns find.I do think Burton have missed a trick by not doubling the size of the away end. They would soon recoup the cost of building work.

I like Burton. They're a well run club that has done extremely well in recent times to get into and stay at a high league level relative to their history. Plenty there we could learn about sustainability and sensible business growth.
No delusions of grandeur or entitlement among their fans (unlike us), as a club you could argue they are punching above their weight (unlike us) and on the pitch they always give us a good game. They're a small, but decent club. Oh, and while we're at it if you're going to slag off Burton have you been into the s'hole that is Derby recently? And that's from someone who lives in Derby.
Given our recent record against them and their respective performances against top 6 sides recently, we'd do well to win this one.

If you are after reasoned and erudite could you provide me with the stats that show long-staying managers do better than short-term managers? It's a difficult argument to follow because I'd think that most clubs don't do very well in terms of winning things?
My opinion is that the right manager will succeed when working with the right squad. Nothing to do with longevity.

Seeing it from that angle shows that Warne's comments about being "cheated" were even more ridiculous than they sounded initially. White is on the wrong side of his man, there is contact as the ball heads into the area exactly where the BR player was going, which is presumably what has made the mind of the referee up. In real time, he might feel the BR could get to it.
It's soft, but there's contact and therefore referee has a decision to make. His line of sight looked decent enough from the Rams TV angle so all this "he guessed" as it he didn't see it is I think a bit desperate. If it had been up the other end, I'd have be screaming for it. So while we can feel a bit aggrieved and on the wrong end of a decision, some of the hyperbole around it all doesn't do us many favours.
Interestingly though and looking from the other side, I know someone who was in the BR home end, and he said none of their fans really went up for it.

No mate, I'm just saying the chap I know who was in that end said the fans around him didn't go mad screaming for it, although the ref gave it so quickly they barely had time to. Think it's one of those whichever angle you look at you get a different interpretation of where the players are and where the ball is etc.
Just seen it on EMT and from their camera angle, and from that you can see why the ref gave it quite easily. Also it looks like he had a very clear line of sight. Slowing it down, White loses his man, he's only looking at the ball, they both tussle, White falls over and takes the BR player down with him through contact with his lower leg.
The only thing is whether the ball was well over their heads and impossible for the BR player to get to. Doesn't really matter now anyway!!
My point was that it wasn't an obvious an error than others we've seen this season, and Warne's comments about it were very over the top and perhaps did a good job of shielding the debate over what was a very limp performance after we scored.

    Quite.
It’s a quit bizarre situation we currently find ourselves in. We are playing rubbish, I think mainly as a consequence of our tactics, but it is still not beyond the team to scrape into the last 6, beat an equally stuttering Wendy team in the playoffs, and then s******** a victory at Wembley vs Bolton or Barnsley. We really could still go up this season in spite of our piss poor form since the beginning of February. Until the end of May everyone should be behind Warne on matchday, albeit there is no harm critiquing him on a forum.
I think David Clowes has a big decision to make come season end. I was against Warne from the start, mostly because of his ideas as to how football should be played, and partly because I found his persona quite annoying. At an end of season review though Clowes has his first proper chance to evaluate his decision/selection. Has he seen enough for him to support the lurch in direction that Warne would prefer (what he has built his career to date on), and what does that plan look like in terms of the financials, fan accord, and the progress of our Academy.
In the meantime, I really don’t think any of us need any more patronising lectures as to what the Club was like 10 months ago.
