Doubt it, was probably a fluke or a set up that he just stumbled on.

Likewise with the signing of Gayle, I'm guessing it was just a chance meeting outside Padel, that can be the only explanation with nobody wanting to play for him and him having no pulling power.

Just hope our poster keeping tabs on such things has updated their database accordingly.

Just out of interest are there any other internet forums for Derby fans?

    Easy in hindsight Roy.

Maybe the rough tactics of Steve Evans played a part in team selection.

Can’t always play pretty football in this League and losing James Collins for most of the season must have been a shock to the club and tactics

Yeah but is once a season too much to ask?

I'm not really knocking it as I just want us to win and get out of this league but I have some sympathy with those that have issues with what they see week in week out.  I would never have imagined that a promotion season could be so inspiring.

And maybe BT’s sources has said he’s fine but go and put it out there that he’s done for the season.  All mind games 🤞.

Very much doubt that Stevenage care if Collins plays or doesn't.  They will have their own game plan and probably execute it very well whether he starts for us or not.  The idea that this is all some ruse to unsettle them is laughable.

Is that the same Barkhuizen with 71 career goals from 397 appearances, mainly played on the wing?

If you're happy with him as our alternative good luck to you.

Point being that, until they beat Southampton last weekend, many of the posters on their forum were regretting changing Pearson for Manning.

As for a lack of identity, I'm baffled by that comment, given how so many posters on here bemoan our identity as, apparently, a team that aims to get the ball forward quickly, move it to the wings and put crosses in.

I don't agree with many of Chris Martins comments on here but describing us as having a lack of identity on the pitch exactly sums up why I've got little enthusiasm for this campaign despite us lying second in the league.  We're not a hoofball team yet we can't string 4 passes together. So boring to watch and I can't believe we will be successful long term playing this way.

Warne Haters: 'We've got the best squad and biggest budget, we should be walking this league'

Also Warne Haters: 'We should have signed more players'

We had one fit striker and didn't sign any back up.  The talk was about improving the squad. Well when you're backup is Barkhiuzen bringing in any striker with experience is an improvement.  So irrespective of whatever anyone thinks about the size and strength of the squad it was an obvious error.  Wouldn't necessarily have been solely a PW decision so has no relation to hating Warne in my opinion.

I actually think Exeter were a really good endorsement for Warne’s more pragmatic style last night

Played lovely football right up to our third and were then clueless. I think, at this level, it’s really hard to find players who are going to pass it through a tight defence. At any level really.

I'd be happy to see us at least try and play like that.  After all we've got much better players than Exeter.  Who knows it might even be successful.

Posters on both sides of the fence can be just as irritating.
It’s probably a given that if you are Pro Warne you’d get irritated by those most anti-Warne, and if you’re anti-Warne you’d get irritated by those most pro-Warne….and for everyone who’s somewhere in between…. it’s all quite irritating.

Yes.  I tend to sit in the middle of the debate agreeing with bits of both sides of the argument.  Noone had said anything negative about Warne on this thread though before several people posted their usual snide / gloating remarks.  They seem to be completely opposed to any sort of debate which given we're on a forum is a little bit weird.

This should really be on another forum but if someone isn't deriving any enjoyment from participating in an activity then there is a solution before it affects your mental wellbeing.

Imagine going to watch Derby as a way of escaping the 9 to 5 grind and it's actually bringing you down more which defeats the purpose.

Why not try to focus on the positives - we're second in the league.

You don't appear to derive any pleasure from reading other members posts but you still come on here.

Be nice if we had a different striker option off of the bench to play with or replace Collins …..

Apparently a lot of fans weren't bothered when we didn't sign a striker and are happy for us to put Barks up there.  A player that couldn't hit a barn door.

Cannot believe that a team that look so devoid of ideas going forward can get promoted.  Been a season completely lacking in entertainment or excitement for me.   Was more enjoyable last season and I never thought I'd be saying that.

You could argue that McClarens team were entertaining.  Look where that got us. I personally would love more stylish football,  but if this is what it takes to get out of this league. Bring it on

It's not what it takes to get out of this league.  Plymouth and Ipswich played decent football last season.

At some point we're going to have to play decent football to achieve our long terms goals.  What's wrong with having a desire to see that football now?

We were the same, but because no one ever makes themselves available for throw-ins!

We end up throwing it down the line hoping the opponent heads it out or to one of our players (neither of which usually happens).

I'm staggered by how often we give away possession from our throw ins.  It's a complete joke.  Warne highlighted last season but we still haven't got any better.
