Salary cap and enforced EFL business plan notwithstanding? Was Clough having flog players like Shinnie for two bob and would he have been able to renew contracts for Jags and the like? I'd argue that coming out of admin and a forced relegation, Warne's brief has been as tough as any in recent memory. Just my opinion, mind!

Whilst I appreciate that the above post is made in jest, 'Sack Warne' isn't an option, is it?
Last week, it was 'revealed' that we are having to juggle finances between a so-called 'loan pot' and 'perm pot' to get anyone (CBT) through the door - I would think it highly unlikely, under the circumstances, that we have a 'Sack Warne' pot.

Seriously youth, give it a rest, you're ruining this forum. Even the guy that created it and runs it can't bear to come on here after a game, and that's the doing of you and your ilk. If it was down to me, you'd have been banned by now because you just come across like a Forest troll, and they make my teeth itch.

To be honest, a grown-up who can't spell 'their' correctly and one who spends his leisure time on the internet begging for attention from fans of a rival football team, is in no position to be calling anyone else embarrassing.

100%. The moaning disappears for weeks when we are winning AND playing well but as soon as we have a bad game AS ALL TEAMS DO up they pop like a fart in a phone box.

Some derby fans seem to be abit entitled. Same as forest fans. Both clubs have a very good history. But both have been crap for years yet think we should win everything and outplay every single team. Aslong as warne gets us out this bloody league i couldnt care less.

This is the kind of entitlement that needs to be extinguished. We're still rebuilding a squad that was decimated by administration, where's this expectation coming from, and isn't it just setting you up for disappointment?

Anti football??, sitting 11 men behind the ball , stopping the other team scoring with no effort to score yourself , constant fouls and time wasting, that’s anti football, we go out trying to win every game under warne and at times we leave ourselves open and if we are not on it we look poor, we don’t play anti football, we play a style YOU don’t like,
god this forum becomes a grind at times , lose a game and it’s the manger is garbage , every other player is garbage , every thread becomes a tool to trash our manager and fav scapegoat player 🤷🏻‍♂️🥲

I think if you look at our team, we’re not far off being the best in the league on paper. Just a couple of players short of it all coming together.
I don’t think Vickers is better than Wildsmith and the latter would make it into most League One starting berths. The back four isn’t first choice at the moment but you can’t say any of them are bad players.
If they’re playing well, then both Bird and Hourihane have their strengths. It’s a third, strong midfield presence we need desperately. We also need a three that stays closer together as both a defensive and attacking unit.
Up front, most teams would love to have NML, Collins and Blackett-Taylor.
Confidence is so important and if we beat Cheltenham, hopefully it will click back into place. It’s horrible when we play badly, but we can turn it around.

Agree 100% with @iRam that Warne, or any of the players do not deserve abuse.
I think for any manager, the key thing is to try and make a team better than the sum parts - simple as.
Is Warne achieving that? In my opinion no.....but I hope he does achieve that.
If you are not making the team better than the sum parts then other aspects come into it, like ......Are you winning games? (We are) Are you playing an entertaining form of football? (In my opinion, we're not) and Where are you in the league? (In my opinion, doing OK but not great bearing in mind the squad).
So, when we lose a game against lesser teams, playing unattractive football and our league position suffers, it's no surprise that criticism comes in.
But.....Having listened to the BBC podcast with Warne and Karl Robinson and heard the latter's abuse/bullying of players, and having seen Deeney binned for slagging off players in public....after a 4 game ban for abusing officials, I'm pleased we've got a decent bloke in charge.

It's probably OK to not like Warne's media personality without insulting his management credentials. I'm not sure if another manager would be doing better with this squad and it's limitations. Of course it's possible, but not a certainty. Also, no one other than those close to the management and owner have an insight into the budget constraints. All factors for consideration.

They did exacrly this on our last visit to Charlton. Each block tentatively released even though postal deadline gets ever closer & we are close to selling out. As I recall last time at Charlton, the smallest block was never opened even though everything else had virtually sold out...ended up being pay on the day which people were unlikely to risk given how close we were to selling out.
Probably needs formally asking (SCG question?) but I'd like to see all away blocks released at the start of sales. We are very likely to sell out all of allocations anyway, it rewards most loyal away fans with their chosen seats and also gives everyone true picture of allocation & sales for that given match.

I think being 3 points off the top with a large chunk of the season to go it would be nice to get behind the team and managerial staff and see how it plays out before all the name calling begins.

What you've said is fine haha, I was being deliberately flippant because I think a fair few people massively overreact about Warne when we lose a game.
I'm just sick of reading the 'PE Teacher' comments and similar, from people literally not even qualified to lace up his boots. I acknowledge he knows far more about football than I ever will, this self awareness seems to be severely lacking in some.

Don't think I've ever felt so out of kilter with our fanbase. There's always been a few on here, but since Covid it's been an absolute deluge. The amount of new members joining just so they can join the pile on is staggering. We've literally gone from being the most staunch set of fans in the entire EFL, to this, all in 18 months or less. Fortunately, our most loyal fans, especially those who seem to go to every game, come rain, wind or shine, seem able more than able to take the knocks without the kind of histrionics we see on the matchday threads.
Ah well, a big performance is a must now against Cheltenham, or this forum will be toxic beyond belief.

For saying we’re two divisions below them and would dearly love to be in their position with the roles reversed, Forest are actually giving me quite a lot of entertainment this season.
The constant whinging about officials, about MOTD coverage overlooking  them, and the FFP conspiracy against them.
A fan base believing their club should lauded as one of the best in the land, amongst the elite because of the 2 stars on their shirt from when god was a lad. They actually think they’re relevant, and they’re desperate to be relevant and that makes for great comedy value as they keep fighting to stay out of those relegation places.
They will always be disappointed because they think they are entitled to more (at least a proportion of them, there are some red dogs that know what’s what and where they are in the pyramid). They should be a top 25 club (as should we), a worthy addition to the premier league but no more. They punched above their weight under Clough for a period and that success will never happen again, they should be proud of that but consign it to history and hope they can establish themselves as a mid table/bottom half club for a few seasons. Seen them compare themselves to the likes of Villa and Everton - they are not even close to the size of those clubs.
Their chairman is a lunatic and while he should be applauded for backing them his scattergun approach and his believing they should be better than they actually are will be their undoing.
As for the Toney complaint to the PGMOL, anyone else notice the red dog wall stood over the line and not 10 yards?! Gamesmanship on both sides, they should pipe down. But they won’t.

That’s a very reasonable and cogent argument- which recognises that he has been OK and might now be past his best. Also that he is the kind of signing we’re probably restricted to at the moment (21 yr old Washingtons being a bit expensive unless we have great scouts picking then from non/lower league).  I  think calling him a “nothing player” without the qualification comes across as a tad harsh in these circumstances.

Maybe just don't resort to referring to him using insulting terms such as 'nothing player'... Nobody is asking you to be happy with who we sign, and you're entitled to criticism, but flippant, reductionist phrases like that are always going to wind people up. He's had a decent career, primarily playing in the second tier of English football. However you dress it up, he isn't a ''nothing player''; use your words better.

    True.
Part of me wishes they all just buggered off to the Super League now, would English football recover from the loss of those clubs? In time I’m sure.
Makes no sense that a clubs revenue whilst in the Championship is used to form sustainability rules in the league above where the wealth is greater minimising their ability to compete.
That one charge has the potential to relegate meanwhile a club at the other end has 115 hanging over them and as I say, allowed to continue picking up silverware.
It’s Forest, so I’ll laugh, just as they did when the EFL rewrote the rules punishing us retrospectively, yet we all know it stinks and about time they scrapped this nonsense in favour of a more fair system that would allow clubs to all compete on a level playing field.
