The problem with the way we amortised the players values was that It was a desperate business practice put through by a desperate business man trying desperately to cover up the fact that he had driven the business into the ground and It was bust. 
 

The amortisation thing, as you say, was naive beyond ridiculous. That people within the club thought they could redefine the way we value our most important assets (the players) in a way that gave us considerable advantage over every other club in the division and to not expect that to subsequently be challenged was just schoolboy in it's thinking. You just can't change rules like that because you don't agree with them, life doesn't work that way and big institutions like the EFL (with all it's members) most certainly don't. And, like everything else that was tried in the past few years, all it was doing was kicking the can down the road - the club screwed up by allowing a number of high value, low return signings to be made in a short amount of time and then failed to get the club promoted to a place where that no longer mattered.
Net net: Mel gambled big, played fast and loose with things that he did not truly own, and his poor business knowledge (garnered largely on a lucky punt on an app) came and found him out. Covid merely accelerated the path, and the points deduction is no more than we could expect for our actions - even if it hurts us all in it's implementation it is hard to deny that.

I don't think the EFL are worried about the appeal for administration at all to be honest. It's nailed on.

I am 95% sure of the facts thanks, and I didn’t get them from this forum. I have read more simply the underlying documents. I am happy to accept there is a small chance that I may have missed something, but based on your replies you are not a source from which I will get reliable information to be absolutely certain.

Totally agree about our new vermin followers. It's been building for a few years now. Personally I think they're worse than their 80s counterparts. There's a cocky misplaced arrogance about some of the scroats who follow Derby now that I don't remember being there years ago. One incident that stands out from one of my last away trips (I won't go away again) - on the way back from Peterborough one of our 'ultras' couldn't wait to go to the toilet, kept hammering on the loo door and then decided to pee in the carridge in front of a young family who had returned from a holiday, suitcases etc, turned to us and said 'we're all Derby aren't we?' Never felt so ashamed to support Derby. The same geezer and his mates fortunately got their comeuppance at Birmingham City by attempting to 'take' a pub in Digbeth. On this occasion I was glad to witness them spill out of the boozer, wild west style by a much older group of Blues. From what I've heard, a similar thing happened in a Coventry pub the other week too.

Not the EFL’s fault that Mel Morris popped us into administration, thus inducing an automatic 12 points deduction. He’s the one to blame for our current predicament 

Coming from a club who have a significant number of fans regularly chant about someone being a sex offender, I think maybe we would probably do better to accept that all clubs has its idiots...
