I’ve changed Burton to Bolton, but the sentiment remains the same
B4 April 2023……………………If ever we needed a rallying call.

Well calling all derby fans to get really really really behind the lads we need get behind the lads lets have wall of noise and have sea of black and white let's have scafs flags and balloons let's cheer lads on into the play offs. The louder we are the better lads play. Let  bolton players shake with fear and let them think what on earth have we got our selfs into here.

I'm certainly not confident - Bolton are a good side & our record in big, defining games is not good. By contrast your recent point away at Barnsley suggests a team that are capable of getting those crucial results at the business end. From our perspective, its imperative we don't lose but the prize of a 4 point gap if we do win is massive & would I believe set us up for a top 2 finish.  We've improved recently since we've finally put suitable players for a 3-4-3 on the park and new signings Gayle & Adams have given us an added dimension - my hope is that improvement continues with a signature performance against your boys.
I do hope you go up at the end of the season, just not at our expense. Like Bolton as a club, good support/history & you've been through the mill in recent years - got a lot of time for your manager too.

    Morning all
Been a while since anything like this has been attempted and with a sell out expected its now time to turn it on and do our part.
Its been on the socials so spreading the word on here.
So bring your scarves and your flags. Lets make it a sea of black and white come Saturday. There will be some new flags being surfed in the South Stand and the plan is to get some of the bigger flags on poles in there as well.
Really is over to us now to make a difference so voices required from all stands as well in what is a huge game.

We’ve won 2 on the bounce with an aggregate score of 6-0 and gone clear in 2nd, even if others win their games in hand.  We’re now back to psychoanalysing everything Warne and his staff say.  You couldn’t make it up!!

What’s stranger is for you to pick up on Warne’s asking the fans to back the team and enjoy the ride of the next 9 games as a pre-cursor to failure.
We’re second (outright now without the caveat of games in hand others were keen to point out before), have as many wins as Pompey, have the best goal difference in the league on account of having the joint second best goals conceded and fourth best goals for, have players seemingly in form, have players coming back from injury to strengthen the squad for the run in, have just won two games on the bounce 3-0 following a mini slump, and you’re picking on how things are worded in press conferences?!

I was reflecting on the squad the other day and concluded that the overwhelming majority of the squad has positively contributed to our successes this season.
The notable exceptions were Embleton (who looked decent then picked up a season-ending injury), and Blackett-Taylor, who has suffered from some niggly injuries and hasn't had any significant game time.
Even John-Jules scored a couple of important goals, not least the only goal for three points away at Port Vale.
Credit surely goes to PW for this.

If we win these next two games there is actually a strong potential to win the league I believe. Portsmouth haven’t looked at their best the last few games and they play all other 4 members of the top 5 over there next 7 games.

We won’t be getting more than 31,000 with the current segregation, seat ‘rearrangement’.
I remember discussions about building up the rest of the ground to the same height as the West Stand. The infrastructure is there. What would that give us? 40,000? Obviously no need until we’re back in the Prem.

Really enjoyed yesterday.  The last two games are a bit like how I imagine Warne wants us to play.  The first half was some of the best football we’ve played, just lacked a goal.  First goal was a bit scrappy/ lucky but the other 2 were great moves.
This 3 at the back is really working, and how I like to see it played.  I do think LWB is Sibley’s best position.  And Ward is looking like the player we signed. I’ve also been really impressed with Bradley. The 3 CB’s look a proper unit now.  It’s a shame we’re without Bird for a few weeks but I think we’ll be fine as we have options to cover him.  I’d be more concerned if Adam’s was out as I think he’s critical to making this formation work.  He’s good protection for the back 3 allowing the WB’s to be more attacking.
Game 2 of an important month out of the way.

Can we believe that back in October B4 came out with this blog. Portsmouth played more than half the match today against 10 men and could'nt win. With Peterboro (a), Barnsley (h), Derby (h), Bolton (a) and Lincoln (a) in 5 of their last 9 games to play, do you think that 5 point gap will vanish.

Phillip Cocu resigns from first job since leaving Derby
Phillip Cocu resigned as Vitesse head coach after the home defeat to SC Heerenveen
Former Derby County boss Phillip Cocu has resigned as head coach of Eredivisie side Vitesse.
Cocu was appointed by Vitesse little over a year ago, in September 2022, in what was his first job in football since parting company with the Rams in November 2020. The former Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse midfielder guided the team to 10th in the Dutch top flight last season but leaves them bottom of the table this term, having managed only eight points from 12 matches.
Cocu took the decision to step down from his post after the 3-1 home defeat to SC Heerenveen on Saturday. The club said in a statement: "The former footballer of the Arnhem team took over in September 2022 from then head coach Thomas Letsch, who left for VfL Bochum. Under the leadership of Cocu, the Arnhem team still achieved an impressive tenth place in the Eredivisie after a very difficult season.

Cracking day out today! Thought the second half especially was some of the best football we've played. I found it difficult to pick out a man of the match today because it was a great team performance, including the subs. Who did they pick on Rams tv? Oh and the toilets were marginally better than last year!
