Mel would of sold the Club if we’d of got promotion I think anyway, I don’t blame him selling now either, we’re only here once and nobody needs the stress he’s been under running this club.
No matter what your opinion of he’s tenure is.

Quite common in most clubs. The candidates all had suitable CV’s ... None of us were fundamentally opposed to any of the appointments at the time. We might have had a dislike of either Pearson’s 1970’s PE teacher mode or the razzmatazz of Lampard but they were all typical of football. We have had every variety with the exception of trying to recruit the sort of tough guy agricultural manager with a “proven record” (although Pearson might fit that bill) . where everyone would have moaned about the lack of ambition.
The transfer policy “errors” started with Bryson and Hughes being injured in the same match which lead to panic buying at inflated prices. At the time, these were seen as bold, supportive and positive moves. Your are eating hindsight by the KFC family bucket load.
The financial state of the club ? .. Mel filled it with money .. some spent well, some badly .. We haven’t had a fiscal mismanagement situation or anything “taken” from the club by Mel. We got in a mess on FFP and Mel coughed up by buying the stadium and paying the club money for it.
Sam Rush ? Is Mel really responsible for another man’s ethics ? ( or lack of them ? )
The fiasco ? .. Someone broke their pledges or didn’t meet their obligations .. it wasn’t Mel. Maybe Mel shouldn’t  have trusted them but good business and life is defined by trust. You have to start somewhere. Has anyone thought about Mel here ? He has obviously had some serious health issues yet he hasn’t flinched from being a DCFC man
yes, for sure, be sceptical or wary of new owners, we all are, we care about our club, but Mel has been a straight shooter from day one. Some of the things he’s done or wanted to do didn’t work out but he is trustworthy beyond doubt . Now maybe those he has trusted are sharks .. but that’s a different story.

I cannot believe how you have such a judgmental attitude to a guy who has given his best efforts and a shed load of money to this club. Your judgement is littered with an astounding lack of logical analysis.

I don’t think you can take anything about his attitude towards Rooney from that. Although his English is pretty good,he still gets words wrong and hesitates to find the right word. I think he’s wise to not make any sweeping comments about the club, manager and players and leave himself having to change them when he knows the situation better. I thought he came over as being quite excited and trying to not be over enthusiastic.
As he says and other posters have said he will be judged by his works - and he most definitely will be! I just feel that I’ll wait and see. You’d think we were good at waiting, all the practice we’ve had!

I'm genuinely interested about the facts that say this deal is nothing to get excited about or the bloke is a bad un . It all seems just puffs of smoke and nothing concrete . Your own question right back at you , I'm waiting for a reply ??????. Like I've said people seem determined to be well miserable , I think Derby fans have become so use to bad news they actually want it . Think their are alot of Stockholm syndrome Derby fans on here determined not to be positive or crack a smile .

I maybe being a brick thick/naive but Regardless of any bona fides of our new owners. Can someone explain to me how investment can be made in to the club without falling foul of FFP ?

I sort of get the feeling .. even if we have a wealthy new owner who is going put 50 million in to playing staff we then promptly get points deducted from FFP because we are still losing money had over fist. How do you alter the PL if with a full stadium you are losing 10-12 million a year. Which we were ?

It’s too early to call it. The sensible option will be wait until the intentions of the new owners are declared by themselves in public. The jury is still out as far I am concerned hopefully it will not end in tears Just my personal opinion.

    So much this.
As the christians would put it, hate the sin, not the sinner. Throwing people under the bus for an off colour viewpoint or unguarded remark doesn't make the world a better place - but it seems to be the internet way - it more often than not will just create more difference, us and them camps, not seeing each others views. A bit more understanding, a bit of gentle expaining why we hold the views we do, a bit of acceptance that other people won't feel the same as you would just be helpful all round. I may be a hopless nieve idealist, but I believe there's far more in common between most people than divides them.

A fair point, for sure. The polarization is on both sides.
I also could have been more nuanced on the same-sex marriage point. My take is that this is the greatest social change that has happened in my lifetime and it shouldn't be any business of the state whether people can or can't love someone of the same sex. But how quickly we forget that Cameron's government only introduced this in the UK in 2013, just 8 short years ago. Then, all of a sudden, we think we're so enlightened and are outraged that the rest of the world hasn't followed suit, so when Merkel voted against it in 2017 it can seem an outrageous thing for her to have done (especially for those who see her as the champion of European liberal values). And nowadays the British media and commentariat is all holier than though if homophobic abuse is heard at football grounds in other countries. Of course I know nothing of Alonso's views on the topic, but the way towards a more tolerant, better world isn't to immediately castigate everyone who isn't moving on the curve at exactly the same pace as us, but to show understanding and love while letting our own actions and tolerant society speak for itself.

Deporting immigrants who break the law is a standard approach in many countries.
Angela Merkel recently voted against same-sex marriage in the German Parliament, where the ruling party are her Christian Democrats and therefore religiously influenced conservatives.
In my experience it's standard for anyone on the left to label anyone who disagrees with them "far right". It's the nature of the polarized societies we live in, driven in large part by social media algorithms.
I'll judge him as I find him.

Mr Morris has put in many tens of millions into the club and continues to bank roll it every month at the moment for no reward and no thanks from the majority on this website. Given the abuse he is getting I for one don't blame him for wanting to bale out, armchair owners like you guys make me sick.

That is the sort of answer I like. I think a lot of the time a lot of people (on all sides of arguments) are just diving in to shout the loudest. If we can all take time to think about a calm and measured response then that would help in the understanding a lot.
My main concern is that he is/was an active member of this Vox political party, so likely shares a lot of views that I personally don't. This wouldn't be a real concern if he'd cast a vote a few times, but he is/was (I'm not sure currently) a full member who stood for senate. I sincerely hope he doesn't bring those ideologies with him in whatever role he might be playing at DCFC now or in the future.

The position Mel is in (with his documented health issues and the club hemorrhaging money) means that anyone who can show him they have the financial muscle to actually complete the deal is potentially 'the right person'. But we all know he's a long-term fan so I doubt he'd simply offload us to a buch of asset-stripping shysters (even the dodgy Sheikh seemed to have initially have the readiies until one of his group backed out of the deal) - though I wouldn't actually blame Mel for selling to anyone at all if he's made the mistake of reading some of the personal attacks from so-called fans on this forum.....

It never cease to amaze me how suddenly people become experts in business, finance and football takeovers - when in reality, their only expertise is on kebabs, eBay and Amazon.
All I care about is being able to watch my team, hopefully do well, be entertained - and that’s it.
I’ll just chill my beanz and watch other ‘know it all’s’ go in to sizemic meltdowns ?

Our fans have always made a point of encouraging OUR players.
It never used to be a case of a) Intimidate the other team and/or b) boo mistakes made by our players.
This iconoclastic spirit seems to have insinuated itself into every strata of society in this millenia,
Everyone lauded by history as a hero now has to be 'outed' as having had feet of clay or merely out for their own ends and gratification.
I used to find the PopSide a friendly place to be even when fans mingled and I found myself next to visiting fans.
I would not like to be part of an intimidating aggressive crowd.
If that were my criterion I would probably support Millwall, Chelsea or Leeds!
