Sibley’s introduction made a huge difference.
That’s the thing. Decent ball carriers moves the opposition out of position more than possession football (unless you pass at the speed of a PL side).
We were slow in possession. But getting NML, Sibley and Knight running on the ball moved them out of position and created the space.
I don’t think we can have Bird, Smith and Hourihane as a midfield three. All too similar possession players. We need a runner in there.

14 mins in, Derby definitely on top. A few crosses in hit a little deep but very positive so far. Bizarrely the best chance has been to Oxford but there guy put it wide.

He's our most talented player, but obviously his injuries are holding his career back. You'd expect a player like Bielik to attract much better sides than Birmingham, I'd guess not many others were willing to cover his wages for the higher risk of having him unavailable.
I think this works out pretty well, as long as the 4 new players that Rosenior alluded to are now possible without Bielik's wages on the books. Our squad still lacks depth, 4 players for the same cost as one luxury player is a no-brainer for a club in our current position. There's no guarantee the quality of the team will be any better, but I'd bet that we'll have a far stronger squad than if we just kept Bielik.

The lad Hinton is a legend.

I have always worn white boots, at least partly inspired by stories my Grandfather would tell me about Hinton in his white boots.
On my debut for a local team one Saturday a 'senior' opposition player loudly asked just before kick off "What's the point in having flash boots like that if you're no good?", laughs go up on his side. Fifteen minutes in to the match I absolutely rifled one in to the top corner from the edge of the box, an absolute peach never to be repeated, so I ran past the fella who made the comment and gave him a pat on the head. 
Next time I got the ball he absolutely clattered me, got himself booked and then his manager subbed him at half time. My one and only example of making someone look an absolute mug on a football pitch.
Not sure what this anecdote contributes to this thread, but I enjoyed remembering it all the same!
