Dcfcsr92 reacted to Srg in Oxford United v Derby County
It’s 2-0, they’re sitting back and letting it happen. They wouldn’t be playing like this otherwise. They know we aren’t dangerous despite our 74 corners.

And we are still only 2 points above 7th..whose fault is that?

On my way to Wigan . Atmosphere in our away end will be superb . We don’t need a drum.

For about 60 minutes on Thursday I could feel myself sitting arms folded, cross-legged and I suspect with a face like I was sucking a lemon! When I met my pal on the concourse after we just shrugged at each other. I feel like I’m living off scraps of what this team is capable of - the 3 nice little triangles on the left edge of Lincoln’s box in the first half, seeing Wilson do his stuff. I didn’t even jump out of my seat when he scored the second though. Yes we’re winning and that’s what will get us promoted, but Christ it’s a hard watch a lot of the time!

I thought both Fornah and Bird looked weak tonight and some awful passes and decision making ….supposed to tackle in midfield I thought lol wouldn’t be that concerned if we sold Bird in Jan as I think we need more in a CM might give us some money to spend

Steady on buddy. Let's not get carried away. I'm happy to celebrate the win and sitting 3rd in the league but the mood on this forum could very quickly change with the next three games looking potentially tricky.

The goal came down the right hand side involving Ward, Collins and Hourihane. Ward and Barkhuizen are involved in the attacking third, it’s not all NML…in my opinion

Yes. Those are the facts. But some can still comment on the fact that the performance was woeful? That’s the thing to see.

She allowed Wycombe to play her completely. They got away with fouls that earned our players a booking. Sibley effectively got booked for a timewasting offence and apart from reciprocating for the same offence one of their players in the second half, she did nothing about their constant gamesmanship. The incident with Taylor simply made her look weak. The FA should charge Taylor because what he did was utterly disrespectful, but she should also be spoken to by her association and shown where she needs to improve.

I dont understand why everyone thinks its a striker issue if jj stays fit i think we are fine itwms a creative midfielder we need the only part of the pitch i think we stuggle in is midfield

Dcfcsr92 reacted to Day in What do we need ?
I know this might sound crazy to some, however I have no problem with the joint 8th top scorer in the league James Collins up top.
What we need is players that can dish him up those chances to score.
We know he won't finish every one, otherwise he would be in the Premier League.
This is League 1 and we need to create more to increase the chances of scoring more.
So it's more about the players behind him, players that can offer something different, bring a fresh energy to the team.
More James? Moooooooore?....Yes, more from midfield and the wide areas.

Good win, yet very boring football again. Don't enjoy watching the style we play but a wins a win get us out this league and then concentrate on building from there.

No, I associated shots on target with the only way the ball usually ends up in the net. I know that creating chances is important, but an xG of 5 is useless if it doesn't result in any shots on target. QED.

So what would the Xg of Garnacho's goal for Man Utd on Sunday have been? - very small one would judge, yet it was a superb goal. Can't think of any interview with Premier League coaching staff where I have ever heard them use Xg to rate a performance. Its not a good statistic because there are too many variables which determine the quality of play. Xg measures "something" but that is only a limited part . How many variables are actually used when computing the Xg values?

Collins did everything that could reasonably have been asked of him tonight IMO. Didn't hesitate to shoot when he got sight of goal, got his shots on target, forced a couple of decent saves from the keeper, ran his socks off pulling the defence around. Maybe if he'd got that chance that JJ did, he'd have buried it too. But he didn't get a 1v1 with time to place his spot, and that wasn't his fault.
A pacey striker coming on with 20 minutes to go is what we've missed all season and, while Collins doesn't always perform, I couldn't fault him tonight. Give him credit for softening the defence up.

Dcfcsr92 reacted to Andicis in Derby vs Port Vale
I think the concern is really that we haven't clicked. We're doing just enough, but I worry that it isn't sustainable in the long run.

Its still s*** football...all this manager is bothered about is defence and athletes...so boring, so poor.
The wins are mainly because the opposition are so bad..the standard is abysmal, and we really need to get out of it this season!
