It follows the 19th century Oxbridge slang of shortening words like “brekkers” for “breakfast” so that Rugby Football became “rugger” and Association Football became at first “assocer” and then “soccer” . I’m old enough to remember in the 50s when soccer was used almost as much as football and quite a few footy magazines were called “Soccer Star” and “Soccer Review”. The USA used soccer to differentiate it from American football

It might be worth remembering that our King Kev scored a shed load of goals in the old div 1, at the time the top division in the country.  Mitrovic has scored all his goals in the second tier of English football, he did nothing in the premier league last time Fulham were there.

We never questioned the title of ITV's sunday highlights programme back in the seventies. 'Star Soccer'. Commentator, Hugh Johns would describe Derby players playing in white shirts, dark blue shorts and white 'stockings'!

Thousands of words and within those words some are true and some are not. We just are not in a position to know which are which although some will tell you they do

I think you take the trouble to read into things that aren't there. The poster is right we actually do not know what has gone on. We do not know what the bids have been , what conditions have been attached to those bids and so on. So there is no point in criticising Quantuma if you do not know those facts.

The only thing we can reasonably say is that Quantuma have been unduly optimistic in their timelines.

Even though it is no longer a legal term in English law, spelling arrestable as arrest-able is arrestable.
Never mind the offence that is offense.

Pure speculation on your part. The facts aren’t known, the reasons for decisions made are not known. It’s just that certain posters have decided that what they believe has happened, has really occurred.

You don’t know. I don’t know. None of us know what has happened in the last few months. We don’t know the issues that have surfaced, the challenges that have had to be dealt with, the countless underlying problems, the complexities, the meetings, the negotiations that have taken place.

The only song I can think of that sounds vaguely like Kirchner is the Chas and Dave song “Gertcha”. I’m sure some budding lyricist on here could do something with it

Yes, preferred bidder was (when I was a civil servant) the standard legal term in the civil service in the procurement process for the bidder who is selected to some predetermined criteria, as being the body who it intends to sell the business to, or award a contract, subject to the completion of financial and administrative negotiations and legal arrangements. And this is what the joint administrators have done. It isn’t binding and the preferred bidder can walk away. Just don’t understand kevinhectoring’s points about this process

Don’t understand. Why is it unbelievable? A PB isn’t contractually bound to do anything. They can pull out anytime. And if EFL find his bid to be unacceptable then he needs to make it acceptable or walk away

Not correct in my experience. If they are bright enough and apply themselves and have the drive, then university is available. I’ve worked with lots of graduates who come from poor estates in inner London

I thought it was either 25p/£ upon exiting administration OR 35p/£ over two years were the minimum to avoid the 15 point penalties.
If its going to be over a period of time I think that has to be written into the creditors settlement documents.

My understanding is that there would be an agreement as to how all the debt is being handled, at the point we exit admin.  We'd know if we are going to be paying 25% now, 35% later or neither. I don't see how we get to 2 years down the line and randomly decide to chuck a bit more at HMRC out of the goodness of our hearts.
