Exactly this. Its such a fallacy to assume success can only arise from a benefactor coming in, throwing cash around & underwriting losses. There will be that expectation of Kirchner from some but the one good thing to come out of Morris' folly is that the counter argument of big spending can (and should) be used to close that expectation down.
Success comes from constantly good decision making. So many more examples of clubs who have improved because of a long term consistent strategy & backroom continuity than clubs buying success. Kirchner has correctly delegated football operations to an experienced CEO in Garry Cook...between him, a well run Academy & a management team rapidly learning on the job, we're seeing building blocks for a well run club put in place.
I'll confidently predict we wont have a single league attendance at PP in 22/23 as low as 15k, let alone an average that low. If your frame of reference is Division 3 from 1984-86, you're not comparing apples with apples. Much better ground facilities, greater interest in football as a whole & less hooliganism. Add in the feel good factor from the club being saved, novelty of a new division & the defiance shown by the fanbase, I think 15k is incredibly pessimistic. We'll average over 20k.

I've written on other threads how I won a school essay competition in 1970 "Who I would most like to meet" and wrote about Zak and why. My prize was to go to the BBG to watch a training session, get a tour of the ground, meet the players and even Cloughie in his office. Cherished memories.
So it makes me very sad that he chose not to participate in the 1972 celebrations. Yet from the reports of today and other days, he looked well, was happy to meet fans and talk about the old days. The club is - or will be soon - under new ownership. So why is there still this breakdown in relationship between the great man and the club? Or is it actually with former team mates?
As for being shy, not liking the limelight, surely walking onto the pitch with 10-15 others would not be so bad for someone who played in front of crowds of tens of thousands in the past. He could do that without having to make speeches or being in an individual spotlight.
I just wish he still felt part of it.

    Wasn't a "disappointment" though.
We already knew he was crap before he joined, we knew that he would be crap after he signed and he didn't disappoint - he was crap.

Opened contract talks with Davies, according to Nixon’s Patreon.
Hoping to get an agreement next week.
Bristol City and Hull still both keen to sign him but it’s expected we’ll be allowed to sign players in the next few days when the takeover is finalised.

Contact has also been made with existing members of the squad and new players as we look to add and improve to key areas.

I've got no problem with people raising genuine concerns about Kirchner's bid, or being doggedly cynical about the whole process, but it would be helpful if they could at least take cognisance of information that casts doubt on their own theories. Reading the same speculation over and over again without a single scrap of evidence to back it up, is tedious, and I suspect that's what is getting allot of posters' backs up.

That funny, I support those 3 teams. I've always quite liked Derby too though, and lame puns, so spend lots of time posting on here. I usually wear 2 half n half scarves when watching one of my teams on tv. My 4th team are Leeds. Why does it matter?
As I support these other teams, I'm superior to all other posters on here. I can see, and know the truth about County. You are all too blind to see it. That is why I'm always correct.

This is such a good description. He absolutely glided over that rubbish Baseball Ground pitch, the ball never more than a couple of inches from his feet. And always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to back a goal. Fantastic talent. Too modest for his own good if the stories of his Poland appearance for England are to be believed!
