Just got home, I'm hoarse, got sore knees from too much bouncing and ringing in my ears from the absolute bonkers noise in the away end.
It's nights like these that David Clowes has given us back when they were so nearly taken away from us.
As for arguing about budgets and squad values, tonight of all nights!  There's only one thing you need to know - the togetherness of owner, squad, fans - it is priceless.

Its amazing how after  match we have the choice to talk about all the good stuff, or moan about the poor play, or who has let us down. Today we didn't have that choice. There is absolutely nothing to complain about from a derby point of view. And yes, like many I was worried by the team selection, enforced as it was, but it turned out to be "nay worries", as they say in Scotland.
Roberts is a good option to have at right back, and Curtis was safe enough, in part because of the lack of pace up front from Bolton. I know they have lost a couple of important players up front, but I don't think pace is their game. Their tactics were to lump it to the big man, or into the channels, and it didn't work. An important factor in this was our pressing, which I don't think I have seen as effectively employed before, especially as we kept it up all match. Thank you Jason knight for making it possible, and the new fitness regime!
A couple of times I had to wonder how Bolton managed to be in 5th place because they didn't really perform. The nearest to an attempt on goal in the first half was a cross that bobbled through to Wildsmith, and their only shots on target were at 56  minutes, 73 minutes and the goal, which should have been a goal kick. But they didn't perform because we didn't let them! And we have done that many times this season, particularly since Mr Warne took up residence.
NML had his defender on toast all match long, Max Bird has stepped up a gear, and our longing for him to toughen up was answered in only the 2nd minute when he bullied a Bolton player off the ball near the corner flag. And his pass to set up the second goal was an absolute peach. I've already mentioned Knighty, and it is good to see Hourihane, who was my least favourite  putting himself about with a bit of passion - I don't know what happened, but he has been a different player since he came back from injury. I don't think there is player who can be singled out for playing badly - yet again. And it is getting to what it was like for Mac 1, and indeed the days of Brian Clough and then Dave Mackay, when we didn't wonder if we could win or draw, but how may we were gong to win by!
Today was a great football match, and I went absolutely bonkers berserk for both the goals - something I haven't done for years, because they were two tremendous goals. I was supposed to walk back to the car after the match, but got there without knowing how - almost as though I had floated all the way back! What a feeling!

Since Knight returned to the team in a 3 man midfield, either Knight, Bird or Hourihane has scored in each of the 4 games.

With Osula back at Sheff Utd, and transfer options limited, Macauley Bonne would be a decent signing at this level. Can play as a lone striker or out wide so would be great option.
As a suffolk based Derby supporter I watched him quite a bit last season and he was on fire when Paul Cook was manager scoring about 12 goals by Christmas if memory serves me right.
He's fairly quick, works his nuts off and is good in the air although gets caught offside quite a bit playing on the shoulder of the last defender. At 27 he's at a better age with good lower league experience to do a job for us either as a striker or winger to provide competition/cover for Collins and NML.

A flip side to taking loans from the teams below us, taking loans from those in the Championship not playing too much. Dujon Sterling is on loan at Stoke from Chelsea, has only played 61 minutes in one appearance out the last ten games. Previously on loan at Coventry, Blackpool and Wigan so isn't wet behind the ears. 23 year old right back, out of contract at the end of the season. Could be one to try snare with the lure of regular football at a big club, then sign on a free in the summer. Chelsea surely wouldn't be keeping him around.

While some think of Leyton Orient as a "name", this was non-league football. But the Charlton stats are more impressive. Our embargo does indeed make it tough, but at least also means we're unlikely to be overpaying on wages!

Not strictly true, he scored 45 in 90 at Leyton Orient, 11 in 36 at Charlton. In our current situation he'd be a shrewd signing. He's also rumoured to be wanted by Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton so he's not to be sniffed at in our current situation.

Its an easy 5 or 10 minute stroll to the ground from the train station so you should be OK with it being an 8pm KO.

For those travelling by car it could be difficult getting into Ipswich as its going to be a healthy 27k+ crowd.
There's a small town called Stowmarket just off the A14 and it's about 20 minutes train ride away from Ipswich and will save you battling through Ipswich looking for a car park in the dark.
It would obviously add to the travel cost but may save you some time if you're on the drag. The pub for away fans is opposite the train station if you have time for a few ?

To be fair, he doesn't know if it's Shrove Tuesday or Sheffield Wednesday, he just loves his football and i won't dictate who he supports. He likes Derby and Ipswich but not a die hard for either really. I moved from Derby to Suffolk when I was 11 but having been to the Baseball Ground as a youth I'm hooked for life.
My son has several of my old shirts  my dad dug out of the loft along with a few more recent kits, I usually wait until they go on sale at the end of each season.
We'll be going with my 75 year old dad who's followed Derby all his life, my brother and his 2 young lads who are also Suffolk born and bred but not Ipswich fans.
Im sure we'll be fine, and hopefully we'll get the result we're after. ?⚽?

My lads going to be reet confused. I'm a Suffolk based Ram and have got us tickets for Portman Road in the Away end. He's only 8, but have been taking him a few times to watch Ipswich last season and a couple this season including tomorrow, a near full house vs Portsmouth.

With our delayed kit launch, I ended up getting him the new Ipswich home kit for his birthday in August (I must admit its a beauty?) to add to his Rams collection which includes ones I used to wear in the late 80s and 90s with the blue checked away being his favourite.
So I will let him wear a blue shirt on the night but it will be the one I had as a young lad pretending I was Dean Saunders!!!

In short, if you see a little lad celebrating an Ipswich goal on the night in the away end, go easy on him, I blame the parents. ?
