  1. Maguire should be in the squad as David says but nowhere near starting, he is world class in the air so is a threat from set peices and has alot of England experience so would be in the squad for me but in the last few years he has played like an absolute donkey and he isn't playing games so definitely shouldn't start. I'd give Colwill and Tomori some starts ,would eventually play one of them next to Stones would be an absolute Rolls Royce defence compared to Maguires clumsiness. If he doesn't move in January I would drop him from the squad all together.  Things will get toxic if Southgate keeps on starting him, he will get deaththreats and things will get more serious so Southgate isn't helping him.

After last night, we now have Waghorn on 6 goals and Collins on 5. At the same point last season, McGoldrick had 1 goal.

As a team, we have scored 17, compared to 11 at the same point last season.

Were we over-worrying about replacing McGoldrick’s goals? I’m not expecting either Waghorn or Collins to match the individual tally, but I think as a team we look more threatening, more likely to score and not having to rely on just one player makes us a lot harder to play against.

We are not missing his goals but we are missing his class and guile at home to create openings for others.

Think people are just enjoying the win, not sure why that would frustrate you.

Do you not think on the flip side it's frustrating to see the team being written off pre match without a ball being kicked?

Many I'm sure would admit everything isn't sunshine and roses, nor is it the disaster some make it out to be.

Yeah I probably was overly negative on reflection just was surprised with some of the comments after seeing us play on Saturday. Left feeling angry after how we played 2nd half.

On the positive side I am pleased to see Waghorn and Collins score so many so far this season and see how good Fornah and Nymabe are in their positions who are imo the best summer signings unless John Jules turns out amazing.

If it helps, we’ve got a game in hand on the teams occupying 4th, 5th and 6th place. IF we can win that game in hand we’ll be 4th, meeting that expectation of top 6.

You’re right there are still improvements to make, not sure there’s “massive work” as you term it, more fine tuning and establishing some consistency. Can’t you see any shoots of improvement and reasons for optimism from tonight? Or the good away form in general?
Players returning from injury providing depth and competition, 3 goals scored away from home, a win at a team previously unbeaten at home this season, a win against a team that embarrassed us in the cup a few weeks back, a solid looking defence over the last few games, we are on a mini unbeaten run too. It’s not all bleak.

I'm not pessimistic about our chances I'm more neutral, just frustrated that winning very well tonight leads to stupid  comments from fans saying any criticism of Warne has been unjustified seen us play 5 home games and not win once this season and have seen us play some very very poor football as well. Away from home is the easy job for Warne because our players have the quality to just be too good on the break in this league, he will earn his stripes turning our home form better without Mcgoldrick who alongside Mendez Laing was absolutely crucial for us at home last season and we would have been about 13th without them.

  5. 4 wins from 5 away from home is outstanding for balance , but feel like in our next home game vs Exeter I think it is we need a change of approach and mentality to ensure we are as effective going forward when we have to build from deep and don't have space in behind.  Found it worrying Warne thought Saturday was a good performance and Radio Derby agreed, when we play at home our midfield need to take more responsibility and risk and we need to put less balls from deep into the box not more and play more savy going forwards.

Can't you just enjoy the win instead of bitching about the manager

Just grates that people start acting like everything is fine and dandy and people are deluded to even ever had the gaul to criticise Warne after a win when there's still massive room for improvement, this is league 1 and top 6 is the minimum expectation. I'm just keeping my eyes focused on the bigger picture. It's ridiculous that people have to polarise things we have massive work to do to get to the levels we need still.

Why not just live for the moment - excellent away win, a point off the playoffs with a game in hand.

Thought the saying was being gracious in defeat rather than being gracious after a win.

Yeah it was a great win tonight, but we know we are good away because it suits counter attacking football.  Happy to win but even if we win 5- 0 on Saturday as well there's a need to see us have some good home performances to know a corner has been turned.

Up to 7th now, one point off the playoffs with a game in hand with the majority of the teams above us.

Maybe things aren't that bad after all.

He's probably on about par if we win on Saturday, with our team in this division and the budget top 4 should be a minimum really this season.  Wouldn't surprise me if we go up but tbh he isn't the man for Derby long term imo. Long term doesn't matter this year as long as we go up but due to play style and other factors if we are not top 6 will be alot of people wanting him out come new year.

3 points off autos if we win our game in hand can't see what the big fuss has been about

The football at home and winning only 1 game at home against Fleetwood and looking bang average against teams with lower budgets. Our away form has been great though and I expect a win on Saturday given how bad Cheltenham are ,Warne will be judged on if we can adapt to play against teams sitting back against us at home where we have to be beating everyone 10th and lower if we want to push for top 2 which we should be doing in this poor league.

1 defeat in 7 and 3 consecutive clean sheets.

It might not be pretty at times but I don't understand all the negativity.

We are 12th in the league with 1 home win in the league against Fleetwood and a very poor loss in the Cup vs Blackpool at home as well, this week is important as if we get 4 points or more things won't be that bad but if we lose tonight Warne will be under serious pressure for Saturday against a bottom of the league Cheltenham as we start the day in the bottom half of league 1.

Shrewsbury and Stevenage on sale from tomorrow .

Do you think there is much chance that as a non season Ticket holder I will get tickets for the Shrewsbury game? Really want to go as because of the f****** stupid international break it might be my last chance of seeing a game for a year apart from maybe this Christmas as I'm going to work in Asia.

Only seen us play 4 home matches this season ,no wins all absolute ballocks so would be nice to get to an away game.

  12. Wildsmith- 6 did Jack all

Nyambe -7 was solid but didn't do much offensively.

    Nelson- 7 solid and reliable

Cashin-6 did a few poor things on the ball but was okay enough defensively.

Forsyth-6 good on the ball but easily beaten at times and not tight to his man.

Smith- 5.5 very average and slow to move the ball.

Fornah- 8 Motm for me was very good defensively,  used the ball well, very athletic and had real composure looks Championship standard.  Signing of the summer.

NML- 4.5 massive fook up for his chance through on goal, touch was appalling and pass was bad those moments matter, also thought he was s*** in general, running into trouble and not linking up well with other players. Played the odd good cross and did some good dribbles against their right back who was a weak link, but overall poor.

Barkhuizen -7 showed some good touches beat their right back alot of times first half and looked our main threat , some decent balls in but nobody got on the end of them.

Waghorn-5 should have scored and was ineffective, atleast tried hard and battled.

Collins 6- thought he was okay compared to usual but wasn't particularly effective or involved alot.

Subs- all 6 bar Sibley who was a 5 due to poor corners.

  13. If we lose it might be one of Warnes last games in charge that's what I'm hoping for anyway.  Think he needs atleast 3 points this week to stay in a job if we slip into the bottom half and don't beat a rank bad Cheltenham that has to be it. Blackpool will probably do us unless we defend very well.

    Why are you so angry?

We have 14 points from nine games. We are three points from the play off places with one to two games in hand depending on who plays on the 14th.  It’s not a doomsday scenario.

We are a work in progress. We have 37 games to get things right and it’s clear that Warne is still working on things and trying to achieve the right balance whilst dealing with a squad that has many absentees through injury and many players searching for form or fitness, sometimes both.

Who said anything anywhere about it being acceptable? I think we are all frustrated. We all want better football married with positive results, but there’s no need to react like this.

It’s a long season and we’ll pick up unlikely points and drop nailed on points whoever the manager is.

It's not about the points it's the performances at home and the whole approach being brain dead football Philistein like while also not getting enough wins.

The set up is s*** it's not going to improve much, we have some quality players now Fornah has arrived with Nyambe I think the team is good enough bar maybe a fast striker which could be John Jules. It annoys me even thinking about and writing about how we play, the midfield set up is wrong and we need to play in a more controlled manner that utilises the middle zone of the opposition half and gets players in spaces.

I wouldn't pay him minimum wage to manage my team. He has very limited tactical awareness and plays caveman football that is only acceptable if we are in and round the top 2. Even if we got promoted I'd sack him that's how anti his football and approach.

We have technical players that he doesn't utilise properly, he doesn't give youth a chance, apart from Fornah,Nymabe and Nelson he mainly signs mediocre players and he hasn't even got the pace and power in necessary for his style probably because some players weren't nice enough lads for him.

f****** clueless if you think that was acceptable.  Passing round the back and then getting it out wide to hopefully punt it in the box isn't acceptable ,when the football is that bad and the results at home are as they are don't think many people could do worse than Warne.
