  1. If an opposition player was down holding their head faking it as a player you would feel like giving them a real reason to bee holding their head and give them a good boot, hate it as a player and fan and needs to be stamped out firmly.

To be honest I know this wouldn’t be great but if accept £1.5-2m  + a huge sell on like 50%

knowing brightons development of players you could be looking at a potential future sale of say £10-20m

No way they'd agree to a 50% sell on fee, I reckon 20% is the most we could get and that would be solid if he was sold on for 15-20 million if he developed well.

Still "nil points" for Everton. I've a lot of contacts at the club, and think Dobbin starting is a pretty surefire indicator this is the season they're finally going down (after 69 consecutive seasons in the top flight). I wouldn't be starting Dobbin for Derby if he was added to our current squad.

Yeah relegation for them is long overdue,  they need to invest before the window closes on some attacking quality or they are f*****. Ihenacho from Leicester would be a decent signing.

  4. Interesting to see he is starting for Everton today, was deemed barely good enough to start for us last season. Maybe he has improved over the summer and he will offer alot of pace and direct running.

Not voted yet and will always give a manager a decent chance, but I haven’t been impressed with any of the players he has brought in or how he has intended to actually play the game of football.

    His needs appear to be

can someone run around a lot, can the ball be crossed a lot.
Is the player a lovely chap, the player must be pre judged on personality and ability - especially irritating as he has clearly proved himself wrong far too often.

I think Ward is a decent player at wide right midfield but our whole side having to be co opted to suit him is plain nuts.

My biggest concern is that we are playing in the third division and I am hearing excuses which I don’t hear from other managers in this league and I see no real plan for the future with a view of being in the championship.

I still expect to Be promoted but I am not sure if that would be due to having this manager or no manager.

You expect to be promoted? 10th place is looking more likely as it stands, we are nowhere near promotion quality unless he changes the whole way of playing and we sign a few new players.

You’re not comparing like with like.  Clough had around 4.5 years, Warne’s not had one yet.  Clough could spend, Warne can’t, or at least unless he sells 1 or 2.  Clough didn’t have EFL restrictions, Warne does or did which severely hampered him in January.  Clough didn’t have to build from bottom up, Warne (or maybe more DC) does.  Clough had an academy to pick from, Warne doesn’t as it was largely decimated due to Mel.  Clough had the opposite problem to Warne of an oversize squad, Warne needs bodies.  Warne hasn’t had a full summer transfer window yet.

I agree about foundations but I do think circumstances play into that a bit and a lot of is required to lay the foundations.  In his pre-match press interview last week when discussing transfers he discussed Mark Thomas is planning transfer for next summer and the one after that.  Maybe that’s when we’ll see som gems unearthed.

Hope Rotherham have some good players, that way we might sign a few decent players next summer.

Mate, you were spared the awful DCFC teams from the late 70s early 80s, truly dreadful, but the worst side must be the 2007 Prem side, an absolute stain on our history, this present team would turn them over without a doubt, apart from big Darren Moore they were the MST spineless, clueless outfit ever to wear the shirt

Yes it was a good job that way first season,  I thought the 2007 Prem team would be a contender but on paper the likes of Kenny Miller, Steve Howard, Pearson ect. should be too good for league 1 which we aren't at the moment.

    What an incredibly stupid post.

Is this the level the forum has fallen to?

Was tongue in cheek because  I doubt he's making that much from us even if we have a net profit on transfers of a few million. Was part way thinking maybe if the EFL didn't let us spend much but we were getting millions in fees he could profit and reinvest in his own businesses. Not trying to say he is a massive grifter.

Oh my lord, I need to stop looking at this forum. Faith in humanity diminishes with each overly dramatic thread

It's a fair question as we have not been in the 3rd tier for many years in our history,  and the football so far this season has been truly disgraceful at home. Maybe abit early but continue like this and for sure it will be the worst side , if we finish bottom half in this league they will go down as a disgrace to the shirt and it will be like the 11 point season at the end.

  10. Serious question,  was thinking whilst at the game yesterday relative to the level we are playing at and the standard of football we are playing I think this team is a contender for our worst ever side.

I only started watching in 2008 as I was 9 then and that's when I got into Derby, but this is definitely the worst team since I've been watching,  heard we were bad in the 1980s but I doubt we were ever this bad.  2007 Prem side would beat this team imo and wouldn't struggle vs average League 1 teams.

What do people think who have been watching for decades? Got to be up there at the moment imo.
