Ignorant to the standard of the MLS these days but it’s either better than most of us give it credit for or Byrne’s too proud to admit what he’s done was wrong and has had to resort to the MLS.

If only he had a time machine.

Not every player is looking for a good standard of football though, maybe he wants to live over there and experience the lifestyle and you also have to think that he might have been offered pretty good money too and would rather that than play for a good championship team.

  2. Can't stand the argument that Knight should keep playing RB really, we need his drive and energy and goal scoring ability at CM. In this system and in this league he will be very good at CM, in a 4231 he is not a holder or a wide player or a 10 but he is made for the RCM spot in a 433 and that's where he should play.

I know he can play RB but we should just sign a proper RB who we can rely on defensively or play Smith there and then play Knight in the middle.  He will have more impact on the game in the middle for sure, he's not that good a crosser or long passer that he's going to be having a big attacking impact from RB. But going forward from CM in this league going off Saturday he will be outstanding.

  3.  I'm quite optimistic for today's game really, think Oxford will give us a good game and we will have to be watchful at the back and switched on and organised and we will really need Davies for that with our defence being a new unit and abit dubious in the RB spot right now.

At the same time though I'm expecting our midfield to have that bit too much quality especially if Bird and Hourihane are on form and we will end up with a 2-1 win.

Really interested to see if we go abit more direct today than last season and get the ball to our wide forwards quickly, we really need to play with a higher tempo than last season and I think that's what Rosenior is trying to implement.

It’s gonna be a game or season of two halves with a lot of six pointers,  But we need to remember that goals wins games and we need to avoid the “They scored too early” excuse. But we seem to have players who “certainly knows where the goal is” and try to avoid “Schoolboy defending” But we have a “Good squad on paper” and have players with a “Yard of pace.”

So let’s forget the Rooneys/Lampards and enjoy the ride.

I never knew Robbie Savage was a member here, learn something new every day!

  5. I think our squad will lack goals as of yet, maybe better off going with a direct 442 because Mcgoldrick won't score many but will link the play well and if we have someone good next to him who can get at least 15 goals then we will be looking more positive in that area.

Tbh though can't see us playing direct football or fast football, personally I am bored of the slow, back to the keeper s**** of the last 3 years or so even under Lampard at times and would prefer a faster and more direct style of football that is still played mainly on the deck.

Can't see Rosenior going for a 442 as I think that goes against the type of football he will want us to play, have a feeling it will be a similar style to Cocu football but hopefully faster and more effective.

If we do play that way and the wingers we have will have to be technical and have to score goals, not sure if what we have right now suits that in all honesty but we still have time to sign players.

  6.     For me 433 but I'd go for Thompson over Sibley in the exact same team as Animal Ram.

Think you always need atleast 2 midfielders who can defend and I maybe wrong but see Hourihane as someone not so good at the defensive side, Sibley is not to be relied on defensively either.

Think we are crying out for either a pacey striker to play next to Mcgoldrick if we go with a 442 or 4411 with Mcgoldrick just behind or a goal scoring winger to play LW. If we sell Knight and maybe Bird /Bielik if a solid offer comes in then we might be able to get that+add depth.

  7. I think at the moment the clubs survival is the main thing and then just building a solid side for next season that will atleast be able to get a top half finish.  Would be nice if we can atleast keep Davies and a few youngsters but if we are realistic we'll probably lose nearly everyone and be just looking at a complete rebuild with how long everything is taking.

  8. Not assed at all tbf. Was a bit disappointed at first as he's a good character to have a as a manger and a real motivator but he's nothing special tactically. A good manager in the making, definitely.

Irreplaceable not really. Think we can get someone in who really knows league 1 hopefully and will steady the ship and ensure no matter what we can atleast compete.

  9. Feeling really down atm after that, even though I was resigned to relegation a few weeks ago I always had that bit of hope in my mind that we could pull off a great escape. Reality has really sunk in now that we will be a league 1 club next season and possibly for a few years.

I want to be as optimistic as possible and believe we'll be able to come straight back up but then I've heard that a 15 point deduction is a possibility so that makes it hard to be too optimistic.

Only solace I can take is at least we still have a club to support and they'll be much better days to come in the future. Will try and forget about Derby for a few days tbh.

    Its a funny old game

Plange converts his sitter and it's a perfect controlled away game. Miss it and we are awful.

Both would probably be abit wide of the mark tbf. Not watching the game but it sounds like we've not been at our best been fairly mediocre but not too bad and they have been fairly average too, definitely a game that's up for grabs 2nd half and a game we could win. Need our attacking players to step up 2nd half and produce something, that and not giving them anything cheap from a set peice or our usual rubbish from messing around at the back.

    Above us now

We'll have to win all our games to stay up, they aren't going to win all of theirs I don't think.

So  imo it's only Readings result that is important to us. There's just matters a small bit in the off chance it actually matters say if Reading lose all of their matches and we are neck and neck with Peterborough on the final day.

Feel the team is an acknowledgment of our poor away form and looking ahead to Saturday at home against Coventry at Pride Park.

I hope I'm wrong, especially for the fans that have travelled, just looks on paper like a game we have written off.

    Prove me wrong you Rams!!!

At this stage of the season with our current position Rooney will be looking to win every game, we have to as Barnsley might win tonight.

Can't see us writing off any matches, our line up wille the best way of winning today in his mind.

Just watching reports of racial discrimination against people trying to leave ukrain and enter Poland and Hungary, another example of west over painting ourselves better than we are??‍♂️

I think the actions of individuals should be seperate from government, for example just because of what Putin and the Kremlin are doing doesn't mean all Russians are immoral and just because the UK has done atrocities doesn't mean we have that as a stain against us as British Citizens imo.

So I don't buy the idea of being western and judged by what other people have done who have happened to live in the same area.

I get your point though that no country or set of people are perfect but I also think no western Government would do what Putin has done to Ukraine in this present time to any country.

Maybe someone like Tony Blair would have been involved in similar but I feel like it's a different Era to those days in the early 2000s, I maybe wrong in that regard though.

Correct no end product what so ever he is young and been forced in the first team before ready, another Adam Traore in the making cant get a regular start for the very same reason

If he becomes as good as Adama Traore he will have done very well, he is miles better than Festy atm, I know Barca aren't what they were but he's doing a good job at Barcelona at the moment and getting quite a few assists.

They are similar in the sense that they are both right wingers who are very fast and poor on their left foot though. Adama also had a really good season with Wolves a few years back, was poo for a few years and now has become decent again.

Overall though Festy is nowhere near that level yet, could become a similar player I guess and hopefully he'll become more two footed.
