Correlation ≠ causation. Even if we have a good game today, doesn't actually prove anything. He is a natural goal scorer, and we lack those.
If the attack link up well together it wouldn't be all down to Lawrence not playing but would suggest he isn't a big miss if we were to sell him.

I mean even if you feel like Lawrence shouldn't play, there's probably better ways of expressing it than "I hope he keeps getting injured"....
Didn't really mean it but I'm pleased he isn't playing, personally hope we can get some money for him this window and play our young players instead rather than probably lose him ona free next summer whilst taking other players game time.

Quite looking forward to the game now, interested to see how Baldock and Jagielka do and also happy to see Buchanan back in the side. Also is a big game for Sibley to tie down a place in the team.

This is an awful take.
Watch us play better in attack today now Lawrence isn't playing, loses the ball too much for me and doesn't impact games enough if he doesn't score.

Looks a promising lineup, hopefully someone can give Lawrence a good knock every week until the end of the season.

Just seen the goals we conceded on Saturday and how anyone can put most of the blame on Rooney is beyond me. Disgraceful defensive mistakes especially for the 2nd goal you can't account for that as manager.
-
I think Ebosele might be better as an impact player like Mason Bennett, Jozwiak hasn't been good recently but I think if he stays on the bench a while it may hurt his confidence. Would try him on the left side with Sibley on the right.

The squad finally looks to have some depth, despite the injuries to Bielik, Knight and Kazim-Richards. Davies and Stearman have done well, but I think Jagielka is a better player. I hope Baldock is backup for Stretton in the first instance, rather than here to take his place. Is there a price to be paid by Jozwiak and Byrne for the two late goals conceded at Peterborough, or is that counter-productive? Is Buchanan fit again?
I think Rooney will opt to go 5-3-2 with this lineup:
Roos
Stearman Jagielka Davies
Ebosele Buchanan
Bird Morrison Shinnie
Stretton Lawrence
Subs: Allsopp Byrne Forsyth Sibley Watson Baldock Jozwiak
Yet again it will be heartbreaking to see Louie Sibley wasted on the bench.
It would be a travesty if Bird plays box to box over Watson or Sibley he's good for about 1 goal every 2 years and can't drive with the ball he definitely isn't the type of player you need in a 5atb system where your midfield need to conpensate in attack for a lack of wingers.
Maybe Shinnie plays box to box but thats not ideal either, in that set up I'd go Sibley but I definitely wouldn't play Lawrence striker. Better off with a 523
Probably best off putting in Sibley for Lawrence who I would look to get off the wage bill in our situation, Jagielka in for Stearman and then other than that the same lineup as against Peterborough bar Kazim.

If we play like this all season we will be going down, Peterborough aren't the best of sides and we still completely bottle it.

Hopefully he comes back by early December with us around 10th going into the Christmas run of games and he will come in and take us into the Playoffs.

I would see Morrison as a definite starter.
Who misses out would you say?
Watson if we stick with a similar team to Saturday, with Lawrence outwide.

Right then. Let’s have you in charge of recruitment! NOT !
Have you any idea about how life and business works ? Or what constitutes a skilled footballer in the second tier ? Have you any concept of what a Pandemic does to businesses where 50% of their revenue comes from gate receipts ? .. Do you have a job and rent / mortgage to pay ? … what would you be doing if you salary had been cut by 50% and Your boss had accused you of having a hand in the till. You have a few things to give you a chance of another job .. your well serviced not too old car and a nearly new lap top. .. Your proposition is sell both … Then where are you ?
Or have you just got tired of your current toys and been watching all those Christmas adds for new ones.
I don't know what all the money part was about when I was on about getting rid of a player to free up wages but as far as what makes a good championship player neither are, Lawrence makes a ton of mistakes with the ball and lacks pace and dives in to stupid tackles and Jozwiak scored 1 goal all of last season and lacks end product.
Id keep Jozwiak, sell Lawrence and get a striker in using the transfer fee and making sure they are on lower wages.

Love the positivity
Not much to be positive about when it comes to the quality of our wingers both of them were absolutely poo on Saturday. Jozwiak is the better player out the 2 though and if we can get 3million or more for Lawrence we should sell him because Sibley would do better than him imo and it will free up wages.

My feeling with Jozwiak is that he does 9/10 things very, very well. The problem is that the 1/10 are the things that will directly affect the result, his final pass and his finishing.
Theres a hell of a player there, works so hard, protects the ball excellently, wins free kicks, can get upfield quickly with the ball at his feet, fairly quick and uses the ball well in non dangerous areas, and is reasonably consistent with all of that. He just looks like he is lacking any sort of decisiveness when it matters.
Overall, the good things outweigh the bad in my eyes but I think it’s easy to see why we have got to a point where many don’t rate him as he struggles to directly impact games. But I think we’d really miss his indirect impact.
If you could roll him and Lawrence into one player you’d have a world beater.
If you rolled Lawrence and Jozwiak into one you'd have a winger who couldn't cross and couldn't hit a barn door like we already do have. Both have absolutely poo end product.

Draw isn't a bad result and I can't really fault the effort of the players but I thought we were seriously lacking quality in midfield and we will be in a relegation battle again if we don't improve the side or Morrison doesn't have a big impact.
I thought Bird was poor, don't think he made a tackle all game and didn't turn with the ball or take any risks he simply played it back to where it came from which alongside Shinnie's average ball skills means we aren't going to create alot. Thought Davies looked decent but Stearman although brave and no nonsense, lacks pace and a few times he tried to press the attacker and was too slow and just pulled himself out of position.
I also thought Byrne was very poor defensively. Kazim led the line well as per usual we just need more quality around him.

I always thought he was average save for having, genuinely, one of the best strikes in all of football.
He's got a really good touch as well, even apart from his ball striking he is above most Championship players. Only thing going against him is he's weak and not fast enough to run past a defence over a long distance.

As others have said I feel we may regret being wasteful in front of goal.
