What is the point of short corners? I don't get it.

I'm going to give it a miss this season...
Yes so am I. Call me half a fan or whatever. I don't care. I want to enjoy my hobbies and interests and at the moment I can't see anything to enjoy about Derby County.

What is the point of playing any matches at all if the EFL can decide to demote teams when the season has finished. IMHO it's absolutely ridiculous and makes a mockery of players' efforts. Yet again the innocent, and I include both players and fans in this, are punished.
-
Absolutely disgraceful to leave us with so much uncertainty. Surely the EFL should have checked the accounts each season and applied the sanctions then, to go back 5 years is disgraceful and shows that they are inefficient and vindictive.
-
Not expecting much at all. It's yet another transition season with pre season preparation spoilt by uncertainty. If we manage to stay up I will be satisfied. Mid league and I will be delighted. I'm finding it difficult to find any enthusiasm really.

I'm feeling very fortunate this year. 1 week in the Lake District with youngest son and family, I week in Yorkshire Dales with other son, I week with partner in Cornwall and 1 week on a narrow boat with friends sampling real ale pubs on the way. It's more important to me to spend some quality time with friends and family than go through the stress and hassle at an airport this year.

I think whatever the EFL want the EFL get.
Is it just a coincidence that every time the EFL appeal they win? Does that mean that every person who sits on the first independent panel of every case is completely incompetent and isnt able to come up with a decision based on the information provided.
Strange as well that the EFL are able to appeal a decision made by an independent panel and if the original decision is overturned (everytime) the club isnt allowed to challenge it.
Cant be just me that thinks we have a legal system in the real world and then football that seems it's own entity with power hungry greedy barstewards who can change rules at the drop of a hat to suit.
One last thing. Why are we being so severely hounded for breaching rules that have seen us gain absolutely nothing over recent years and clubs like Forest and Watford can have owners who own 2 clubs and sell players between them for over inflated fees to circumnavigate FFP.
And dont even get me started on West Ham who can literally field 2 illegal players costing Sheff United their place in the prem, are found guilty and fined 10 million, but dont receive a points deduction. Then get given a stadium at our expense.
Much is rotten in the state of professional football and to be honest I've just about had enough of it.

Yes. Was talking about this with my Dad earlier. Assuming the penalty isn’t something ludicrous, take it on the chin and move on.
Yes but depending on points docked and uncertainty about take over how many players are actually going to want to sign for Derby. I doubt we will be first choice with all this uncertainty hanging over our heads. We need to know ASAP what is going to happen and then perhaps the takeover saga can be resolved.

Meanwhile Aston Villa now they are a Premiership club escape their punishment So where is the fairness in that. If we are to be held accountable so should they. In addition to that this must be costing the EFL a hell of a lot of money, I'd love to know how much and who is going to pay for it?
-
It's disgraceful how this drags on and on. A decision was made and should be stuck to. I can see this hanging over our heads for weeks and disrupting yet another season.
-
I think we need to take a balanced view on this situation. We escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth. There are obviously some very serious problems at the club both on and off the pitch which will need addressing. If Rotherham had managed to hold on to their lead we would have been relegated. How many of us would have been calling for Rooney's resignation then? There's a lot of very fickle fans out there. I still have reservations about Rooney's ability to manage a championship club and one draw against a poor Sheffield Wednesday team is not going to win me over!

The £ 4000 down payment for the share isn't really the problem though, is it? Its the extra £ 1-2,000 annual call for more capital to cover the operating losses and provide a bit of a transfer kitty that would hurt more!

Any chance there are 20,000 Derby County fans, each with £4,000 or whatever to spare? We could buy the club ourselves if that were the case. A fan owned Derby County.. our club would really be OUR club then.
I just need to find 19,999 people to agree with me now.. ?
If all clubs had this model, what a far better state football would be in. Just look at the Champions League, Man City, Chelsea, PSG, the petrodollar gang were all there. The inequity, and the distortion of football due to the billionaire owner model has reached crisis proportions.
For all the stupendous awfulness of the ESL (and it's a truly dreadful concept), is really that much worse than what we are seeing already? Apologies gone off on a tangent now.
Hey I'd be up for that if I could have final say in buying players for the club and closing the manager?

This whole long drawn out saga of prospective investors and buyers is a complete and utter farce.

I don’t rate his work rate tracking back and getting tight on players when we don’t have the ball
That game personified it ..
Rooney will decide not me
I couldn’t care less who plays tomorrow to be honest
I’m rapidly getting to the point of not defending my point of view anymore
PS My opinion will not stop Sibley playing will it .
You don't need to defend your point of view. None of us do. We all have the right to express our opinions, provided they are not abusive, and we all need to respect that. Ridiculing someone's point of view is simply unpleasant but disagreeing is not. I hope we all recognise the difference.
-
How can my comments perpetuate any problem. They are purely my opinions and have absolutely no influence on anybody else unless they are weak minded and easily led!! I do , however, concede that week in week out is an exaggeration but there are players on that pitch who get considerably more game time than others and IN My OPINION are less deserving of it than Sibley. Enjoy your evening.
-
When we are able to go and see matches I would much rather go and see Sibley play in a settled team showing us some exciting and skilful play than watch Waghorn and Gregory. I'm in the group of fans that believe that with regular match play he will gain in belief, confidence and ability to read the game. Unfortunately I'm starting to think that if Rooney persists in leaving him out and making public comments Sibley will be leaving us in the Summer and next season we'll be watching him score for some other clubs. It must be very galling when others who are playing below an acceptable standard play week in week out and no comments are made about them.

I am a huge Sibley fan and am really fed up that he is not given more match time. He has obvious ball skills and a natural ability which is more than can be said for some and is an exciting player to watch. If he hardly ever plays with the first team how are Derby and Sibley going to learn to play as a cohesive unit. A good team will know where to pass the ball to for certain players but unfortunately we are still in chop and change mode with players making inaccurate and ill judged passes . It doesn't work!

People who racially abuse other people are absolutely pathetic. There is absolutely no place for this kind of behaviour at any time or any place.

Definitely not a free kick. Their player ran into ours and then deliberately fell over. Poor decision by referee
