  1. I am not going to be drawn into a discussion or argument with you as I have already stated quite clearly what my thoughts are on the matter. I suspect we could go round and round in circles on this issue and achieve nothing. You have your opinion and I have mine. That's absolutely fine.

  2. If women had not been banned by the FA in 1921 we would possibly not be in this situation now. I think A Woman's Game by Suzanne Wrack explains much more eloquently than I how much women have been historically held back. Yes hopefully things will improve but I still think when a woman earns in a year what a man can earn in a week is wrong. However we are moving into the realms of politics so I will post no more on this subject other than to say Come on England!

Why does it make you angry?

The mens game makes hundreds of millions of pounds every year and is one of the most watched sports in the world.

If the womens game gets to the same level then they can be paid the same amount. Attendances, viewership and hence sponsorship for most womens games are well below the male equivalent fir most games.

Pay isnt based just on gender in any job. Its a very simplistic way of looking at it - there are many factors that come into it. In my job i would get paid far more if i worked as a consultant than if i was working for some piddly little loval business.

It took the mens game 150+ years to get to its current position and whilst the womens sides have made significant progress it will still take time.

I take it you are not a woman then?

You could argue that pay is directly related to revenue brought in.

you only get paid as good as your agent can negotiate. In what other business would two people doing exactly the same job get paid wildly different amounts, two players at the same club, both left backs, can get paid completely different amounts.

If I had my way agents would be made redundant and men would be paid a lot less!

It's a forum about the team I support and I'm giving my opinion , im not stopping doing so because you don't agree , currently rosenior has no other option if he wants to rest Collins and mcgoldrick , I very much doubt he's going to do well in a physical league 1 next year , hence why I said replace with someone

Yes. You have the right to state your opinion. However I believe that we all have to be aware of the impact our posts have on other people. Not knowing Jack Stretton I have no idea what his response would be to such criticism  if indeed he were to become aware of it. It's not the kind of post I would make and I thought it was rather harsh.

Let's be honest. Can anyone blame them?

Loyalty in football is dead. They aren't Derby fans. They are employees.

Why would they want to be here when they know that next season is going to be hideous?

They will all have better offers elsewhere. Cannot blame them for wanting out.

Ironic really, the only ones with any loyalty whatsoever are the fans and that have absolutely no say in what goes on. I keep asking that's it I'm finished with football but this is the 3rd time I've checked this page today.

So why didn’t he carry on with the purchase?

if he got it for £23 million then he’d probably make a profit out of flattening it and building on it, so no risk!

it’s all lies and damn lies, MM wanted to raise us to the ground and he’s succeeded.

    Why? I don’t know!

Perhaps MM is a closet Nottingham Forest supporter who was working undercover?

  8. The owners of clubs ought to have the mindset that they are in fact owners and custodians of a club and have the moral and financial duty to leave the club in an equal or better footing when selling. Unfortunately money, greed and the desire for the Premier league has clouded sound judgement. I name no names!

That's your prerogative and I respect that.

I just find it strange the continued use of the word slave if you're an employee of Ashley's as really that has no comparison whatsoever to slaves in history - they were owned by their master in the same manner as an inanimate object, they had no rights in fact criminals had more rights then they did and so on.

It's just not a valid comparison. Anyone who worked for Ashley could have left at any time they wanted.

I am certainly not so uneducated to compare Mike Ashley's business model to slavery. That is just ridiculous but he has a history of exploiting people and although conditions did improve for a while recent reports have suggested a sliding back in the way the work force are treated.  As to your final point perhaps people who are employed by people like Mike Ashley are unable to find another job. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to pick and choose what work they do.

Am sure the Roman Empire was built using slaves as a foundation to it but let's not let facts get in the way of progressing a personal agenda

Doesn't make it acceptable just because people throughout history have exploited other people. Personally I don't want Ashley and if he owns the club I will not got to matches. Just my own little stand against a man whose business model I don't like. I left DW sports when he took it over. Sometimes you have to make a stand. I didn't go to matches when Robert Maxwell owned the club either. If other people support him that's fine,  that's their choice.

Unless you are Mystic Meg after a sex change then you do not know, lol

When Derby sacked Tim Ward and brought in the young wippersnapper unproven most Derby fans i knew were shocked that Brian Clough had the job, and there was little improvement in the first season in charge, derby were still close to the bottom of the second division, and after a few seasons the rest is history, and so Derby could be Wayne's destiny, i for one hope so.

As a 13 year old on the pop side in 1967  it didn't enter my head that Derby would go on to be as successful as they were . It was all rather mind blowing and surreal.Yes times are so very different now and teams going from old 4th division to first in successive seasons,  like Northampton did are but a very distant memory but every now and then something amazing happens. It's highly unlikely Rooney will achieve what BC and DM achieved with Derby but you never know!

    On the plus side......

Mel is rapidly climbing the league table of most evil balds in history. What it is with male pattern baldness and susceptibility to malign influence?

Keep pure of heart and keep your follicles boys!

For those who have already advanced down this dangerous road, please, do not go gently into that good night, but rage, rage against the dying of the follicles! Put every effort into redeeming the lot of the hairless. In a world of Mels, be a Colin Gibson.

Never thought i would say this after 54 years, but  i think i am going to be done with football after this fiasco.

I agree. My first match was way back in 1967 but quite honestly if Ashley buys us and Rooney and the youngsters go that's it for me. This roller coaster of emotions is no good for my mental health and I'm fed up of having my hopes raised and then dashed.

  14. None of my immediate family had any interest in football. One day when we were bored I went with a friend from school to see Derby, way back in 1967. I was hooked and have been ever since. My 3 sons all support Derby. One is married to a Forest supporter though! I don't know which team their children are going to support. I'll have to work on them.

I've not really seen anyone mention this yet but what the bloody hell have the administrators been doing throughout this process?

There seems to have been 2 major issues throughout this process and they seem to have ignored both of them.

Why on earth would you identify someone as the preferred bidder without having an agreement for the most important part of the transaction?

From the outside they've only really done one thing at any great speed during the whole process, and that was letting the EFL bend us over.

Are the administrators accountable to anybody? On the face of it they do seem to be getting a very large sum of money for achieving very little. Appointed by MM accountable to MM?

I mean, what does he actually expect? I actually think the Derby fan base has been more than tolerant to Mel Morris than a lot of other clubs would’ve been in this situation.

I agree. We've had months of being promised  things that have failed. It's the hope that is constantly dashed that kills and this morning's news is bound to inflame the situation.  Derby fans have been absolutely amazing.

  17. I live about 2 miles from MM's Derbyshire house and today it is taking all my will power not to post a notice on his gate stating just what I think of him. I am so cross and upset. I know we don't know all the facts but how reckless to gamble over the future of our club, affecting the jobs, incomes of thousands of people and the feelings of the many devoted fans.  Didn't he realise that the flip side of gaining entry to the Premiership was what is happening now. Utter recklessness. As not only the owner but custodian he had a duty to ensure the viability of the club.
