Or the administrators could maybe say you won the amortisation case because Derby didn't have an accountant expert to defend it. We are accountants so you try it again and see how far it gets you.

The difference is that say if Top Shop or Debenhams go bust, it's because fewer people are visiting their stores. Derby still have a loyal fan base, so cutting off that revenue makes no sense to HMRC.
Players moving on is all very well, (although some will become free agents or drop in salary at best) but there will be reduction in football revenues to the tune of around £30 million if Derby went bust, and replacing Derby with Chesterfield or whoever ain't going to replace that.  HMRC would lose out in perpetuity. What is 130 years of existence times £30 million? About £4 billion. Take 40% of that and that is £1.6 billion..  that is how much HMRC will lose if Derby go into liquidation.  It would be pigheaded, self righteous and foolish beyond imagination for HMRC to do that.

No the fee quoted is probably dependent upon things which won’t happen, like us getting to the Prem. and maybe appearances and he hasn’t appeared much except in the surgery.

I think the point being given a limited budget we should not have put all our eggs in one basket , but that’s not to say we paid or will pay more than he is worth, just that we are not in a position to spend so much on one player.

Exactly. If Lawrence had killed someone when he went off the road he would have gone to jail and lost his job. He would have suffered for the consequence sof his actions.  Keogh injured himself so suffered the consequences of his actions.. he cannot expect Derby to compensate him for that... although according to Percy he has been.

Well you would think a journalist would question how, if the fee was truly £10 million, the agreed instalments were only £2million after two years. So Arsenal agreed to us to pay £1 miilion a year for 10 years? I don't think so. Does it not occur to the journo that maybe the fee isn't £10 million unless Derby get into the Prem and Poland win the world cup with Bielik as captain?

How much do Sheff U owe us for Bogle and Lowe? And don't get me started on Gordon and Delap.

The facts are that only teams in the Premier league have any money.. no one in the Championship has any money to speak of. I am surprised Forest could even contemplate buying Buchanan with their large squad, even at the silly low price they offered.
Knight is the only one who would interest a Premier team atm, and then only for his potential. Bielik would not get much with his injury situation and Joz cannot even get in our team atm.

The most stressful part of this administration is the possibility, even if it is 5% or less,  of Derby being liquidated. That is beyond my imagination.

Knight is maybe the only player we could get serious money for in January. He certainly will not be with us in League One.

Bielik and Jozwiak would sell for less combined than Knight.
Buchanan we only got one silly offer for and that was from Forest!
Bird , Sibley have gone backwards since 2019/20, although Bird has had the odd good game this season. But unless Premier League boys are after them and they won't be, we wil get very little for them.

It wasnt a Court of Law, nor even a proper employment tribunal. It was a kangaroo court set up by the EFL and the Players union.

Is that what Keogh told the Judge? He didn't spend the evening with Tom Lawrence? Maybe try the Prince Andrew approach he was at Pizza hut, and not up to any naughty business.

I think the point being made is that the decison not to pay him didn't cost us because if we had paid him, he would have been paid for doing nothing which is how things have turned out anyway.  If he had returned to fitness within the remaining term of his contract, he would not have got in the team ahead of Davies,  Clarke or Wisdom.
