Gee SCREAMER !! got a reaction from LeedsCityRam in Who enjoys Warne's football poll?
The much maligned Clough who halved the wage bill, reduced the age of the squad by 5 years, put together a core of the side that got to the playoff final and had a gross spend after sales of less than 2 million. Can't recall many 900k fees myself bar Sammon. The Barker type fee for Keogh was raised by getting a bigger than Barker fee for Shackell.
Warnes footy is abject b*******. I'm that bored with it I hadn't noticed we weren't playing today.

If we were grinding out 1-0 wins and it was ugly, I wouldn't give a s*** as it would achieve an end game result. I'd rather play swashbuckling foot ball and win but I'd accept it. However, the football is s**** and the win rate is mediocre. As such, I'd rather see some entertainment outside a 20 min period in Peterborough where a space time continuum shifted.

Marriotts form really dropped off in this period due to him not getting any service without Mount. This had a much bigger part to play in him not getting goals for 2 months than the much vaunted beer monster on a golf course drivel.

Jackie Brown was good and True Romance though he wrote it rather than directed it.

Gee SCREAMER !! reacted to jimtastic56 in At least we still have a club.......yeah but...
The bottom 6 in the Championship are rubbish , but there are always 5 or 6 teams at the top who are propped up with these ridicules parachute payments for 3 years. Yo- yo teams like Burnley. As for our 14 years in that league we did have some fantastic young loan players inc- Mount , Bamford , Linguard , Wilson , Timori etc

I concur. It's a fantastic league but yeah you have to be pretty crap to get relegated from it, especially if you're a club of a decent size.

I'm not really getting the terror of the championship. We spent 14 years in it, mostly on the verge of getting out and would have stayed in it with two centre backs who were nearly 80 between them, Lawrence and a few freebies and kids on a level playing. fairly comfortably in fact . It's generally a crap league.

No chance of that, Bird is injured.

No he didn't, he took the ball on his chest in direct view of a lino. That was the officials poor decision.
There's no time to think about placement of hands if your making three saves in about 6 seconds, due to a defender who panics instead of putting his size 12's through the ball.

Derby could have sold on deadline day in time but Brighton had a loan out lined up and it wasn't back here. Derby wouldn't sell without getting a player in, the loan for this player they thought was coming was refused on deadline day. Brighton agreed on a loan back till January last minute to get it done but it was too late. Norwich wasn't the club.

That's good. Evolution will catch up the more time they spend chasing balls 15 foot of the ground I suppose. I expect the wide players to evolve first as they're first point of call chasing them into the corners.

My opinion is that Brighton really couldn't give a s*** till the last minute as they probably had a few irons in the fire for young players. They probably brokered a deal in sections to hit around the 3 million mark when he got 50 first team games and a full international cap. They wouldn't be interested in him staying here as they probably had the first fee paying loan lined up to a championship club. Lets say 250k to Hull as he was probably a Rosenior suggestion to them and they can't afford that kind of permanent fee.
He'll be off in January for under a million, probably not to Brighton but straight to Hull. Bird as well if he's fit and the price is right. Compensation panels take about 18 months to do anything- Ebiowei anyone- so we'll take the money.
