Nothing new there as this article is from eight years ago, but it so obviously cheating and nothing is done about it.
The biggest crime in football is to upset the establishment.

I now ignore historical achievements, matchday attendances, size of the wider fanbase and overall potential.
My true judgement on what constitutes a big club is whether Mexican Football Monthly magazine has mentioned the club in the last year or so.

Yes, I said as much, but they wouldn't satisfy some of the posters because they didn't invest enough in the team.

Think we have to be a little bit careful “What we wish for”. Florists have banged their prices up and have a 12,000 waiting list for season tickets . Now that would upset a few on here .

As someone who's business deals with a variety of sectors and i can honestly say that Fraser Group are one the ones who pay failrly promptly providing you have your ducks in a row, i seem to remember that someone who worked in corporate finance for them contributes to this thread and concurred with me.
Most of my private work is with NHS trusts,Councils and government departments and i have to say they are the biggest nightmares as no one takes resposibility for decisions to pay supplying businesses, to counter this i charge more for near identical work.
The only time haven't is during the pandemic when i didn't want to milk it at a time of crisis.
Also with the work i do, the public bodies have the skills to do the work, for some reason they all want to manage it not get their hands dirty.

I think you great break Rooney’s spell with us into several parts.
As a player, there are 2 distinct differences between pre and post the COVID break.  At the start, superb.  He ran the show in lots of games and was in good shape.  After the restart, he was totally out of shape and was hinderance to the team.  In Ryan Conways book I think it’s Max Lowe who said they’d all been given individual trading plans to keep in shape.  When they returned, Rooney had obviously put on a bit of timber and after running 1 lap of the pitch on the first training session he gave up and went back in the changing room.  He looked off the pace in matches and could barely run.
Then as a manager there are also 2 parts.  When he took over he was shocking.  No tactics, no plan.  You’d think for someone having worked for some of the best managers and coaches and with an aspiration to be a manager he’d have an idea how he wanted his teams to play.  We just did what the opposition did.  Then the administration season, which I think is his finest moment.  We did start with a plan and structure as to how he wanted us to play.  Although I think he was a bit lucky to have a good coaching staff with him.  But from the admin announcement he became a leader.  He lead the players, the staff behind the scenes, the fans - everyone.  He galvanised the club and the city.  It was us against the world and he created a siege mentality.  He didn’t let the points deductions get to anyone.  Many would have given up, he gave us all hope and belief that we could stay up.
I’ll always remember that last season, weirdly one of the best despite the ending.  I wish him well at Plymouth, except against us!!  You have to admire his desire to keep going and trying again.  I hope he takes the time to get his backroom team right as I think this will be key to whether he makes a good go of it or not.

I think that it's safe to say that the EFL, Middlesbrough and Wycombe all took advantage of Derby's delicate position. If we'd had a strong owner in place, they would have all been sent packing.

I know it's a short lived career and money talks but I'd be disappointed if this was the case. Look at Ederson for City last weekend, literally in tears because he had to come off that's the type of player you want on your team not someone happy to sit and take a pay cheque.

Absolutely, it is all about opinions. From my perspective we will always need a balance of youth and experience and if you have Fozzy as part of the experience quotient you’re on a winner. He won’t sulk if he isn’t picked, he’s able and he’s got Ram in his DNA. I’m not naive, he will never be a first choice starter at this stage of his career and at this level but he will make a competent job of whatever is asked of him.  Just look how he stepped in as makeshift CB. The stop gap turned into a fixture.

GB SPORTS reacted to 1of4 in Generational Characteristics
Watching the news about the election; no this isn't going to be a political thread: they talked about policies that will impact on this or that generation, be it X,Y,Z, millennials, ect.
Never been sure what years each generation starts and finishes.  So did what most of us now do, when looking for information. I Googled it.
The site where I found this information, gave a brief description of each generation and their characteristics.
Apparently the first generation to be given a name were the Lost Generation, those born between 1883 to 1900.
Me, I'm from the Boomer Gen and according to the site. Unlike my parents who had come through the war and hardships. I apparently, along with other Boomers are great consumers and spendthrifts. A characterization that for me, is wrong.
This got me thinking, do most of each generation, actually fall into these characterizations. Or are these generalisations like horoscopes, pure bumkum.

Genuine question: How is it useful? Other than for marketing purposes which, means it’s nothing new it’s just that we’ve attached a label to different generations. Any business half decent at marketing (since marketing was invented) would have identified their target audience and designed their product/service (along with the associated branding, promotion and advertising) to appeal to that group.
