Are you on such an anti-Morris roll that your blinkers stop you seeing the bigger picture?
I'm not blaming the EFL - I'm stating that by not giving us the additional 'monet to save clubs from Covid' funding (while giving it to all of the other Championship clubs), we've been made into an exceptional case - and that provides a solid argument against the 12-point deduction for going into admin.
A lot of people on here have been saying we can't claim exceptional reasons to avoid the 12 point deduction as other clubs have been able to survive - but by denying us the funding (and there's a very good case to say they were right to do that due to the P&S issues we were having) and then also giving us a points deduction when that decision tipped us over the edge into administration, they've effectively penalised us twice (and that's ignoring the embargo shenanigans preventing us from extending contracts and therefore losing players on the cheap).
Whoever ultimately is to blame (and neither Mel or the EFL are blameless) the funding decision was a contrbutory factor in pushing us over the edge - that should at least lessen the points punishment if not negate it completely....

No - Mel's actions prevented us from meeting the criteria laid down in the rules.
However, the reason we didn't get the funding is a a moot point - the fact is that ALL of the other Championship clubs were provided with over £8M to help them deal with the effects of Covid. We didn't get that funding which made the impact of the pandemic far greater on us and therefore gives us a valid case to argue against the 12-point deduction.....

Ironically the biggest point in our favour is that EFL rules prevented us from accessing the additional £8M+ funding that was provided to every other Championship club - thereby making the impact of Covid far greater on us than anyone else. A pretty strong argument and one the EFL would find difficult to provide a valid arguement against....

It would be great is someone cleverer than me could provide a breakdown of the debt that we're supposedly in - the way Mel has tied the finances in knots to protect himself and/or make our finances look a certaain way, I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of both the reported debts and the money that Mel reckons he's pumped into the club are actually owed to him or one of his companies.
I'm highly sceptical that he's put £200M in with no expectation of seeing a big part of that returned to him. Just how much of the debt is made up of his loans to the club?

Gaspode got a reaction from Kathcairns in Earnshaw
I was working in Norwich when they signed Earnshaw and stayed in the same hotel as him. Bloke drove a Humvee and consistently parked either across a couple of disabled spaces or on the double yellow lines directly outside receptiion (despite there being a huge car park with loads of empty spaces). Seeing him strutting into the hotel, he came across as an arrogant and obnoxious character. I've had no reason to change my view of him in the years since then....

Which makes the timing of the administration annoucement all the more galling. They've been pushing the seaons ticket sales and membership deals, got many thousands of people to stump up their cash and then announce the future of the club is in doubt. If it wasn't good old 'Uncle Mel' in charge, people might see it as the cynical act of an owner that doesn't give a stuff about the ordinary fans losing out as long as he can recoup some of his millions....

Gaspode got a reaction from i-Ram in Mel Morris interview on Radio Derby 1pm
It was an edited interview so perhaps Mel had final say over what was broadcast? - there certainly seemed to be a few key question's that weren't asked (or weren't publicy answered) - I also suspect that whenever Mel said "that's a good question" he either meant that Dawes had asked one off his agreed list or else that Mel was expecting to be asked that and therefore had a pre-prepared answer ready...

This is the most important thing we can do. Create some income to limit redundancies and player sales, make us attractive to purchasers and support the team.
If you haven't got a season ticket, buy a match ticket.
If you have a got a season ticket , encourage a mate to come or if you can afford it, gift a ticket to a mate.
Encourage friends and family to come.
If you can afford it and know someone who can't afford to go, gift them a ticket for this game.
If you live too far away and can afford it, gift a mate or family member from home,
If you are thinking of coming and have kids, bring them along.
Do whatever we can to fill the ground v Reading.
We've been let down but now it's our time, our time to stand up and save our club.
