What model kia is it? Website states cheapest model on road price is £40k+ I would not be able to finance £40k car. Still unsure about a second hand one or buying process. Do they tell you battery strength and how long they will last? Is mileage a good indication?

Sorry mate - no idea as I'm not really into EVs so only pay attention as they drive past in their 'milkfloat'.....if I get chance I'll have a look this weekend...

Yeah good point - if battery technology advances to the point it can be charged in 10 mins then that goes some way, but even so - how big would the queues be at petrol stations if filling up with petrol took 10 minutes per car

But you don't need a dedicated 'station' as you do for petrol, so expanding the current public charging infrastructure would answer the majority of the demand

I saw this news article - sounds like they are way ahead of Tesla in this regard

Meanwhile, as a city dwelling family who do about 2000 miles a year in our one small 3 door car, I have no issues with replacing it with an EV when the time comes, but as we live in an area of terraced houses, I've still yet to have anyone explain to me the plan for how we charge EVs. There are only a handful few houses around us with EVs and that has already led to "spaghetti pavement" scenarios with trailing wires

They've been trialling the use of chargers built into lamposts - but even if they added a charger to every lampost (at goodness knows what cost), it wouldn't give everyone that needs it access - so there's no obvious solution.

I'd love to know what the legal situation will be if someone iinjures themselves tripping over a charging cable that's been left across the pavement.....

Make sure you set your alarms as this weekend is the Japanese grand Prix from Suzuka.

Whilst everyone who isn't Jos Verstappen or Helmut Marko probably wants the red bull to be at least slightly closer to the clutches of Ferrari and mercedes, the proof of the pudding will be in the Sunday breakfast.

In other news, McLaren have remembered how they got Piastri from alpine and signed him up for 2026, a no brainer really, he's proved he's good.

Alpha Tauri are expected to announce Yuki "Honda backing isn't a factor at all" Tsunoda and Danny Ric for next year, Marko waiting less than a week to get his revenge on Lawson for putting max out of Q2. But on the plus side for the Kiwi, he's got Japan and probably Qatar to prove to Williams he's better than Logan Sargent and to Horner that he's bad enough to be let go. Well, that or give Danny Ric a really really really firm handshake "oh, was that your bad hand, sorry mate"

Someone really needs to have a word with Sargent - it's almost a crash every race weekend at present.....

  5. There was report on the news last night that the young girl (16 at the time) reportedly overheard Brand and his friends/advisers discussing how they could hide the fact that she was only 16 - bit tricky when she was being collected from school in the chauffeur-driven car that the BBC provided to Brand (!!) and taken back to his house  for sex....

Shocking how DCFC fans can watch them mother feckers down the road, I'd sooner rub salt in my eyes, I fast forward them on MOTD but if they're the last game which is the norm I end the programme and delete.

I hope you all sleep with a Bible under your pillows txlCDxVA=

Thye could have lost the game (and probably should have if VAR hadn't seen a handball that was very marginal) which would have made it worthwhile, but there's also the comedy gold of watching McKenna fall over for no reason to let someone in on goal and Worrall playing the Burnley winger onside and then getting absolutely burnt for the Burnley goal.....

I thought that he looked our best player in the 1st half v Pompey. He looked like the only midfielder who was prepared to accept the ball and look for a pass instead of kicking it long. Showed some nice skill but picked up a silly booking and could easily had another so probably needs to calm down a little.

Coming from Forest and being on loan at Reading, he's probably never played in front of such a big crowd - reckon he got a bit carried away due to nerves....

I thought she was good. If their goal was offside, then she was let down by the assistant ref.

The assistant ref in front of the East stand was dreadful - only raised his flag for throw-ins and corners - and then didn’t police where the throw-ins should be taken from….

Russel Martin is the absolute extreme and does it for the sake of it, his teams concede countless unnecessary goals because he insists on it simply due to his own stubbornness

I can think of other managers who have a similar level of stubbornness regarding formations and how to play the game....
