I personally think its the right decision to sack him but I would like to see Lawrence and Bennett sacked two as they are both crap players and more importantly are more guilty than Keogh in the whole ordeal.  It seems unjust for the least guilty person to get the worst punishment duet to his age and the injury he got, not the biggest fan of Keogh but a 35 year old Keogh would still offer a lot more than a Bennett ever could as long as he could still move properly after his injury.

Couldn’t agree more. Mel Morris has taken us backwards with his decision making in all aspects of the running of the club over the last 4 years and this cynical sacking has the stamp of our chairman all over it. 
We need a fresh start.
 

I know a lot of you won't agree with me but I actually feel rather sorry for Keogh. What exactly is he guilty of?  Yes he didn't set a good example on that evening but Bennett and Lawrence were the ones who made the decision to drive and both are in their twenties and should know better. Lawrence had even attended a drink driving event prior to this. Yet Keogh is the one who was injured, possibly won't play again certainly not at this level which surely is punishment enough. Now he has the additional punishment  of being sacked. Meanwhile Bennett and Lawrence do some community service probably doing something  people volunteer to do in their free time and are back playing football a week later. 

One down, two to go. Good riddance.
Only way to deal this poo, hopefully Bennett and Lawrence are gone in January.

What a mess of a club we far too often are.

Is it only me who feels really sad about this? I know he shouldn’t have got drunk, got in the car etc, but what an awful way for his time at Derby to end ?

You could be right on the culture change at the club,difficult to argue against that.
I’m not prepared to condemn Keogh simply because of the number of times I have seen him drag the team forward when we’ve been under performing.

He has his faults as player granted but bloody hell would swap him out for either of the two present incumbents .

Smacks of hypocrisy if (as reported) we're threatening to sack him. Have to agree with a few on here, feels all our decisions on this have been driven by FFP and money, rather than morals. I say that like I don't realise this is a football club, which in the modern game is all about FPP and money, but it still sits uncomfortably with me.
All this needs resolving quick. Hard not to believe this whole stink of an episode has contributed to recent performances. Imagine the attitude around the club right now. Lesser teams have gone up on squad harmony alone, don't underestimate it.

Seems strange then that every manager that comes in since hes been here say how good he is, in and around the dressing room.

He's a lucky boy from a commercial aspect I would have terminated his and Bennett's contract, Keogh from an age will not play again perspective Bennett worthless .Lawrence would be on the list in January as he has a value.

Bennett will be released in the summer, not good enough. Lawrence should be sold, we might get 2m for him if we are lucky.

It'd be nice to think the other players from his generation would drop him a note to congratulate him after so long without what was rightfully his.  He earned his medal and you earned my total respect for doing this selfless act.  Well done.  Hope your son is proud of what his Dad and Grandad managed to achieve.  Great for him to rub shoulders (well, his shoulder to their hip) with such legends of our club.

Thanks for posting this. Something special about that group of players from the amazingly successful team of the early to mid 70's. I guess we all know in our hearts that it's never going to happen again.

It is a very difficult job at any level. Just like players, referees will make mistakes. Unless VAR is improved and fully introduced into the pro game, then showing controversial incidents on screen isn't really going to help in any way. It could even make the situation worse with referees feeling pressure and doing something to rectify their initial mistake.
