Not easy when the Chairman doesn't talk to you. I'm not a Rooney worshiper, but he was being honest. Mr Morris has come across as being insincere. A fair observation in my opinion.

It was private for a long time and Wayne kept it very professional. Wayne funding the away trips and the lack of communication from Mel Morris were kept under wraps as long as Mel continued at the club. Mel kept making promises to Wayne that never came to fruition and then decided to throw Wayne and everybody else under the bus with no warning by putting the club into administration.
Once Mel decided he no longer wanted anything to do with Derby County he is fair game. There is no way in hell that anything that Wayne Rooney said could be construed as him throwing Mel under the bus. Wayne kept it professional as long as he could, but he isn't made of stone - if Mel is going to shaft him repeatedly he isn't going to stay quiet forever.

I’m wondering who the four voters are that voted for Morris to come back. I dare say he’s basically a nice man, kind to animals and good to his family but I can’t help thinking he’s vexed the EFL and Gibson so badly any return would be hugely detrimental to the club, they want to put him in his place and wouldn’t let go until they’ve succeeded.
Maybe they four people were just having a laugh mind. ?‍♂️
Anyway, I voted Kirchner. I read a link from a newspaper regarding the Easdale brothers and it painted an impressive picture of astute business acumen and I initially thought aye, they’ll do for me...then I read another one an hour or so later and thought oh-oh, probably not.
For the record, I’d be disappointed to see Moxey or Rush having any involvement in the club but that’s just me.

We definitely need to steer well clear of Ronnie and Reggie.

Coming from a club who have a significant number of fans regularly chant about someone being a sex offender, I think maybe we would probably do better to accept that all clubs has its idiots...

yep, but if you look on paper all he has achieved is avoiding relegation last season thanks to other results going our way. I seriously doubt other clubs would be willing to take a chance on him based on that. If they do, it'll be due to his name not ability

The constant in all of this is the custodian of the club having a recent penchant for recruiting managers with zero Championship experience and in a lot of these cases zero managerial experience to boot - Clement, Cocu, Lampard, Rooney.
Guess his warped logic if he had any was that I recruited "experienced" managers whom failed so why not try it this way now.

Rooney is still with us partly because he feels a debt to us for giving him a chance.
However, it will mainly be because if he manages to keeps us in the league with all the horse poo he has had to deal with then his reputation as a manager increases dramatically.
This then opens up bigger and better jobs to him.
Yes, this is cynical and the rest of our fans will not like it but it is my opinion. He has already come out of it looking like a saint.

Yes, since we can't afford to sack Rooney he certainly is the only option. It's a very unique situation really. The club gave the managers job to an unqualified novice and he soon found himself to be trying to learn 'on the job' in extreme circumstances. If Wayne can keep the players motivated for the remainder of the season it might at least save some further humiliation, with relegation being inevitable. I don't imagine Rooney will fancy L1, and would probably leave amicably at that point. That's when the nitty gritty of rebuilding the club will start, hopefully with sensible new ownership in place.

Some very decent managers out of work at the moment, Farke and Smith in the last 24 hours alone and Nuno a few days before that.

It's funny, because I was calling for Warnock when he left Rotherham and people said the same. He is a dinosaur, rubbish football, we play good football, we want better is some of the things people said.
He very nearly joined us too, unfortunately he went to Cardiff, who were nothing at the time and got them promoted.
    Where as we.....did really well

Not the EFL’s fault that Mel Morris popped us into administration, thus inducing an automatic 12 points deduction. He’s the one to blame for our current predicament

A bit naive of the manager.... put it down to Rooney being inexperienced. All said and done, unsurprisingly, it hasn't worked.
