Duck, Davies being missing is really not good news. Our defence never looks organised without him leading it. Stearman was incredibly shaky against Mansfield too, so I’m a bit concerned there.
Great to see McGoldrick back fit in the squad. Finally gives us a proper different option up front off the bench. 
Nice to see Bird with the armband too. For such a young man, he’s so composed and commanding in the middle of park, which comes with experience. Proud moment for him.

Hmm, he’s a name I’ve heard of - think he was highly rated at West Ham at one point?
Seemed to have a bit of a nightmare with Stevenage in League Two though, and half a season in the Irish league does little to convince me he’s ready for our level. 
We do need proper competition for Wildsmith in goal, but I was really hoping for someone at a similar level to really push him. Not sure this guy is even much better than Loach.
Still, he’s 22 now and unlikely to make it at West Ham, so you’d think there’s a decent chance we can sign him permanently in the future - whenever we can actually pay fees again! So maybe that comes into the thinking.

The whole start of this season has been bizzare. Playing football in the summer heat is not something I’ve ever really known as a fan. Don’t know whether it’s just the heatwave we’ve been having, or the season starting early, but it’s a very different experience. Wearing shorts to a football match, who’d have though it?!

I really hope that you’re right, and the David Clowes era is far better than the Mel Morris one - hopefully we will become a well run, successful football club, rather than the ego plaything of a banker who left us on the verge of financial ruin. 
It’s very early days yet though, so I’m hesitant to get over-excited at this stage - I mean, this is Derby County we’re talking about, we don’t get nice things. There’s still a hell of a lot of work to be done, both on and off the pitch, before we’ve fully recovered. I suspect sorting out Mels mess will take a couple of tough years, but hopefully we are seeing the dawn at the end of the darkest night now.
We’re still in League One let’s not forget, which is not where this great club belongs. It’s going to take hard work from everyone to get us back up out of here, but at the very least, we do still have a Derby County. That’s the biggest thing here.
