Quite a few in front left immediately when we equalised! One of them must have been @one_chop, devastated that we might get something from the game.

Two ways of looking at it really.
No, I’m not enjoying us being in League One. It’s grim to be two divisions below all our rivals, unable to spend a penny whilst they’re splashing tens of millions on players. It’s a long way back and it’s depressing to think about really. A club like Derby County, with our fan base and history, shouldn’t be in this league with all these tinpoint salty clubs. But we are, thanks to our t*** of a former owner.
However, what I enjoy more than anything is watching Derby win football matches - whatever the competition or level. So in that regard, it’s nice to actually be battling at the right end of the table (so far anyway) after scrapping in a relegation fight for the last few years. After all, that’s what footballs about - that feeling when the final whistle goes and you’ve got 3 points in the bag. I’d much prefer it if we were scoring more goals to be fair - we’ve been starved in that regard for years, and it’s not started too well this season either. But if we get promoted this season, I’ll be getting just as drunk as I would if we got promoted to the Premier League, believe me!

Life is so much easier in the West Stand… things such as chant lyrics don’t both us - we just sit in silence instead, much simpler.

I still think we’ll re-sign Waghorn… my supermarket ITK is definitely legit ?
In all seriousness, he does fit the “senior” striker bill at 32 now. Think he’s exactly the sort of player Rosenior wants - someone who can come off the bench and make an impact anywhere across the frontline. He knows the club, has experience in this League, and is known for his hard work and graft (despite lacking in actual technical ability). Would provide competition for Collins to start upfront, and can come off the bench on the wing if needed late in games to freshen things up.
Still think the Daily Mail had to have heard something to put that story out (though maybe that’s giving them too much credit). Probably just “interest” rather than the done deal they made it out to be, but I still think there might be something there.

Lack of pace - not a slight on Stearman’s performances, which have been largely solid.

Very early in his career, but the signs are good so far. Very quick, tricky, and scares the f*** out of opposition defenders when he runs out at them. Exactly what you like to see from a young winger. Can see why Rosenior wanted to bring him in so desperately, hopefully he’ll be a key player for us this season. Still quite raw in terms of end product though - so it’s probably a little early to get overexcited yet.

You’re gonna have to be more specific - we call everyone duck round here!
Knight is too attack minded to play in a midfield two. Though I do agree we need to get him away from right back, and back into a position where he can influence the game more. Wouldn’t be against Oduroh starting after his stronger performance against West Brom, would give us a natural full back out there.

No - the problem, and why we hardly score any goals, is because those players up front can’t hit a barn door with a banjo when a chance falls their way and/or make the wrong decisions in the final third, such as not being brave enough and passing backwards rather than forwards. Having another man up there won’t change anything in that regard.
All due respect mate, as much as 4-2-3-1 isn’t my favourite either, you can’t exactly call it a “mad idea” - it’s one of the most popular formations in football, and there has to be a reason for that. Plenty of top teams have won trophies playing that system properly. And you’ve got to stop this Sibley obsession - I agree he should be starting now while he’s in form, but you can’t keep playing him if he loses form like the last couple of seasons. You’re starting to sound like those Chris Martin stalkers.

I think that would be suicide I’m afraid mate, especially against a team with the attacking threat of Peterborough. In Rosenior’s favoured 4-2-3-1, we already have 4 players upfront especially - if you have Knight pushing forward to join them, you’ll only have Bird back protecting the defence. Acting as a defensive shield is not really his game, which will the centre backs exposed - particularly worrying with Stearman at the back.
To be fair, I’m not a huge fan of the system altogether, but it’s the only way to get both Collins and McGoldrick in the side. I’d much rather see a 4-3-3 with Knight alongside Hourihane in front of Bird, which I think would suit everyone in midfield perfectly. But alas. Bird and Knight as a midfield two just wouldn’t work from the start imo - maybe it would later on in games if we’re chasing them and going more attacking, but not from the first whistle.

I’ll say the same thing as I do every time - I want a draw that gives us the best possible chance of progressing to Round 4. This cup should must be good for morale at the club, and helps (somewhat) financially too, so we want to keep it going if we can.
With that in mind, I’ll take a League Two club - so Crawley, Gillingham, Newport or Stevenage.
