What a man. My hero.
You need to sack Warne but I still love you Dave xx

A bit of research online shows there are a number of viable options from league one, league two and the championship, both left and right sided. No guarantee we’ll sign them of course as there could be competition for their signatures, but we are still an attractive option for players as a club.
My comment about the EFL business plan is based on comments from the club at the last supporters group meeting. I’d rather put some stock in those comments with a pinch of optimism than fall back on my previous thoughts on the EFL as an organisation.
We’ll see over the next couple of months how it plays out I guess.I’m surprised if there’s that many truly adept at playing wing back. Haven’t looked personally, but hope we can attract enough of them (we need 4).
Time will tell on the EFL I guess, but we’ve been here before when the club has believed they’d be reasonable. They never are.

There are going to be specialist wing backs available on free transfers, it’s feasible we would be able to compete to sign them. If we’re able to agree a change in the business plan with the EFL we may even see a couple of sensible transfer/compensation/loan fees being spent.
I’m not convinced there’ll be many, there aren’t that many out there full stop. I worry about us attracting players here to play for Warne.
As for the EFL being sensible, you can forget that! This is Rick Parry we’re talking about

If we manage to extend McGoldrick’s contract, sign Roberts permanently, and trigger Knight’s extension:
CB Cashin Roberts
RWB Knight Smith Hourihane LWB
McGoldrick Collins
Would obviously need a lot more signings to give us better squad depth than we had this season.
The trouble with a 3-5-2, and another reason why I don’t think Warne will work out, is that wing backs are a very specialist role. It’s going to be very hard to recruit for them under our restrictions. It doesn’t work just sticking Wingers out there.

A 2 x 5 second google search show Mel was owner when we bought Thorne.
You should have said that you criticised everything Mel did that you could remember he did. Could you not type at 14?

Right, I'm off to re-read the Thorne transfer thread and look for when you say don't sign him, he's bound to suffer more injuries and not play much for us.
I was 14 when we signed Thorne. And Mel wasn’t the owner.

To be fair Millenium, you criticise absolutely everything so by laws of averages you were bound to be correct eventually.
I criticise everything because under Mel everything was worthy of criticism. As the end showed.

Cry more. I actually backed the appointment of Warne based on his record, it was only after a few months in having seen the way he plays football that I turned against him. You will too, once you realise he ain’t ever going to succeed here.
I remember when I was ridiculed for criticising Mel. That turned out well.

We need Barnsley to save us now

Is there anything more Derby than that.
All we had to do is not do anything stupid… ffs Davies

Sibley needs to do a lot more to justify his place today. Ditto with Knight.

I’ve heard:
Warne wants a full rebuild in midfield. Knight, Bird and Hourihane to be sold for funds.
McGoldrick doesn’t want to renew. Will go to Notts County if they’re promoted.
We want to sign Wes Harding and Josh Vickers (backup GK) from Rotherham.
