Bob, you’re an incredibly brave man / woman / badger.  It takes huge guts to admit you need help. You absolutely can and will do this mate.

I managed to kick a very nasty addiction and I’ve been clean for 4 1/2 years now.  I couldn’t have imagined that for a minute when I was in the throes of addiction. The hardest and most important decision I made by a mile was getting it out in the open.
It’s hard work Bob and it’s baby steps, but you will get through this. And you’ll be so much happier and healthier for it.  Good luck.

That Shaun Barker on RamsTV should be very worried, it’s only a matter of time……….
So glad Tommo played well and scored a goal and he will do it again and again and will get a few on here eating their words. Cracking player and a wonderful lad. I for one, will keep the faith in him.

Hi. I look at this site for news and gossip. I participate on another site and have never joined this one becaue although some posters have very interesting, insightful and amusing comments to make, there are too many pompous and condescending people for my liking. I have joined tonight purely to say how much I admire you for having the guts to come out with this, and to wish you all the best. I have no doubt at all that having made this step you will come out the other side a better and happier person. Cheers mate.

Nothing to add to the advice already posted and I don't know you personally, but if you want to DM me and set up some time to talk I'd be happy to oblige.
No judgement, just here to listen if it helps. Same goes for anyone on here that is ever struggling.
You're never alone even though it might feel that way.

    Evening lads, pompey fan here.
Think you'll win this, we're in terrible form.
Injuries have blighted our good start, and at one stage we were playing out 4th, 5th and 6th choice players in midfield. Morecambe should have wolloped us Saturday, and we're winless for about seven matches now.
Although we are unbeaten at home for about 15 matches, many of those have been draws though.
If you're driving down I'd advise get to the area early as parking is terrible around the ground. It's off street parking, and spaces are rare on a match day. You might find it easier to park around the Southsea area and walk to the ground.
The designated away fan pub is The Good Companion, about 500yrds from the away end. Although you'd be welcome in any pub around the ground. The days are long gone regards local pubs not allowing away fans in.
We've started work on expanding the away end, so you'll probably find the away end a bit sparce at one side, due to seats and old terracing having been ripped up ready for renewal.
There's no alcohol on sale inside the away end (some rule about fans aren't allowed to drink in sight of the pitch), hence why the away end is being redeveloped with new hidden concourses.
It's a sell out for home fans, think our home capacity is around 16,000, so add on what you lot bring down and probably looking at a 17,000+ crowd.
    Good luck lads.
    Prediction pompey 1 Derby 2

    Pompey fan here.
Safe trip Friday here and home.
If you haven't been, plenty of good places around the stadium. Behind the fratton end (opposite stand to away stand) there is a big tesco directly behind. Also KFC, mcdonalds etc across the road from tesco and subway around the corner. Shops etc close by too.
The away end is currently being redeveloped so there won't be any home fans in that stand. The game has been soldout for about 3 weeks for home fans. Expecting a good following from Derby too. Glad to see you're sorted off the field and look to be playoff candidates this season.
Pompey hit a bad patch of form, we've had some injuries but still fans aren't very happy with lots of draws and it looks like another season of fighting for top 6 when the expectation was top 2.
We haven't lost at home in the league in nearly a year, we are hard to beat at home but do draw quite a lot so I dont expect a loss. I think it'll be a score draw.

    Should be a good game.

A massive thanks to you all for your advice and support, it's been much appreciated.
I've had issues for about 3 or 4 years now but it's really escalated since I moved back to the UK.
My doctor referred me to We are With You a year or so ago and i have been attending meetings online (sporadically) but had stopped seeing my caseworker through sheer complacency.
And that's my problem. I stop, have zero problem stopping for a few weeks and then think I've got it cracked and I haven't. I never will have, but reminding myself that when I'm not even arsed about not drinking seems really tough.
And then I have a terrible nights sleep or have some super stressful stuff going on work-wise and Vodka seems like a brilliant idea and I can just have it once and I'll be ok. But it's never one. I mean literally NEVER. And it's progressive. I got to my mid-50s managing my intake well and knowing when to stop, now I've hit 60 those days have gone
Coincidentally my caseworker texted me this morning for the first. time in months and asked if I wanted to book something, so I have.
I'm also seeing an addiction specialist privately and I've blocked out the time to attend at least 2 meetings per week.
So, I know what I need to do and I'll get there, it's just two steps forward and one back at the moment.
Thanks again to all of you

It takes a lot of courage and it really shouldn’t have to.

We actually did create a hatful of chances.
If we had a weakness, it was at the back but we will never see that back line in a league game so I'm not too worried about that.
Have people ever really watched McGoldrick and his economy of movement around the pitch? He operates as a pivot with all the young lads running around him. Keeps a bit in the tank for the odd sprint and didn't seem at all perturbed about playing the full game. He just wanted his goal (which he got.) The real stand out player of last night, though Bird was pushing him close before his injury.
Sibley continues to be played in a variety of positions (most of any player this season so far) and Warne trusts him. He's learning how to give a disciplined performance where asked - very valuable at his age.
I thought Dobbin, Osula, Rooney, and especially Tommo played very well - as did Wildsmith and Fozzy.
I love how Fozzy and Stears are constantly helping and encouraging the younger players.
At times last night it felt like a training game due to the lack of fans but it gave fringe players some minutes on the pitch, Warne a chance to look at those players against real opposition and a boost to the confidence of the goalscorers.
    Let's keep some perspective here.

There was no issue. If someone doesn't like a manager they will always find an issue no matter what he says.
Warne was happy we'd won, thought we'd played well in parts and not so good in other parts. A fairly sensible and innocuous interview I thought.
