Young strikers from Norwich and Brighton I’ve heard recently

plus exploring championship players with few minutes - Gregory , Juke , Joseph at Leeds, and Maja at West Brom are some of the names I’ve heard.

Oxford guy has been allegedly concentrating on summer recruitment.

Sounds like any name will do then

Maybe a loan out? He does need game time, and to learn the role a bit more.

I always thought he'd be one for the future, given Hourihane and probably Bird departing at season end. So a development loan would make more sense to me.

Can't see a transfer fee generating much?

I wouldn’t want to be paying Forest anything either !

I was saying what I think Warne will do. I would have Conor on the bench.

I’d have three playing in midfield but we have so many wide players we can’t fit them in so something has to give way and Warne has chosen central midfield as the place where we short of bodies on the pitch much to the criticism of Bird and Hourahan unfairly

  4. Elder is fine but he is no wing back just a basic left back for a 442 whilst ward is third choice right back / wingback and fourth choice right midfield

Money wasted has been Fornah as we have to pay a transfer fee if we get promoted and he is on a permanent contract and is hardly trusted to get more than a few minutes every month. Bradley has been a very expensive disappointment but occasionally gets on the pitch to ensure we let a last minute goal in on a frequent basis.

I would say the opposite. If we were trying to look him out, would we risk an injury just days before the window closes? He hasn't had much football for months, so this game (several days before our next fixture) is thr perfect time for him to build up some fitness. He also played a couple of weeks ago, alongside Fornah and Sibley.

I would hedge my bets on Fornah being on the way out. Less than 30 minutes of league football since Christmas. Started 1 other game in thr Cup and brought off at half time. Not even named in the first team squad 4 times. The fact he isn't in this U21 game to build up much needed fitness suggests something is up

For me I think Fornah is very limited and I have no idea what Warne saw in him to give him a permanent contract - when he came on as a late substitute in the Wigan away game he appeared to have a very can’t be bothered  attitude and completely didn’t mark his man or challenge for the ball at all leaving Forsyth being overloaded and giving Wigan easy opportunities to put the ball in the box which could have cost us the win. Three days later we played at OXFORD and Fornah was put through a long period running and chasing individually by a coach two hours before kick off which was very strange and no fitness test which resulted in him not being selected even for the bench that day. I think he has annoyed Warne to the point of wanting rid of him - just an opinion but maybe he is not a warne Good egg

Yes agree, but when Mr Cix took us up we had some very poor games i was there mate, and the season after in the old second division we smashed it, some great away days as a 15 year old as well like Stoke away, Oldham away and the best of the lot sheffield United away with 10000 Rams fans, great times indeed.

Yes I was there also - great times travelling around

Is he a central midfielder? Genuinely not sure his best position. Plays well as a 10 but is so inconsistent, and when is poor is totally ineffective.

Was much better when we played with a more rounded centre forward who could lay the ball off and look for the runners without having to stop still and control the football

Sadly is probably time to take some money for him. Sibley seems to go slightly backwards each season. Is obviously talented but just doesn’t seem to be able to find a position in our team. Under several managers now.

Still think best spell he’s had for us has been at left back. Thought he struggled there today though, defensively was awful

Our central midfielders don’t look good because they are outnumbered and not allowed to do anything other than get it wide early

Warne simply has to address the midfield. It's a glaring issue that until late in the game today he has simply refused to address

That’s the big problem for him though isn’t it - if we put three in there which is needed in this league (most leagues) then you can’t have all these wide players and false wing backs we have collected

When we lost to Stevenage it felt as if everything had come to a head and many (including me) were calling for Warne to go. The next game at home to Northampton felt pivotal and we rushed into a three goal lead, four just after half-time, and the manager was secure.

We went on a great run and got to 3rd in the league, looking as if we might sweep all before us. Yet, the Derby "nose-bleed" system cut in and we're now down to 5th (on ppg) and falling. With only 18 games to go, if we're genuinely going to challenge for automatic promotion we need another run similar to the one we just had, and pronto. Last year's failure on the back of a 17 game unbeaten run does loom heavily over us. Draw or lose and we're likely really in trouble. I'm hoping it's a convincing win and the start of something again, as we try to haul ourselves back into contention. I'll take any win.

I feel this game is again that big test of mentality we came through against Northampton with flying colours. Do we need a sports psychologist? Do we have one? Or is that Warne's job at this level?

Unfortunately that day Northampton decided not to try to mark any of our players particularly Washington which made it a lot easier.
