Was surprised to hear Warne say in his post match interview that it wasn’t a tactical game in any sense. I thought all games had a tactical element
I thought it was tactical to have as few shots on target as is reasonably possible in a first half then let the opponents have the ball for half an hour then go kick and rush right at the end of games or so the 7 year old said recently near me at the games.

Between Wildsmith and Collins I would say Wildsmith is the better goalkeeper and better investment whilst Collins is or should be cover but he kicks the ball further
Do I want an upgrade on both absolutely

We did play 4 at the back. Nyambe, Nelson, Bradley and Cashin. 2 full backs and 2 centre halves.
Yes on paper or 3 centre half’s and a full back or it could easily be said 4 centre half’s

We've lost 2 games, was always likely we hit a sticky patch at some point.
Win the next two and it'll feel a bit better.
But on the other put him in stocks outside pride park and have a stall selling official club rotten veg to throw at him.
Both options sounds appealing 😂

1. Salary Sport has Bradley on £395K pa. With our maximum permitted salary last season being £600K pa, it's hard to imagine Curtis earning less than what Bradley is this season.
2. Who says Bradley can't play in a back 4?
3 Why are you ignoring Bradley's recent good form?
4. Wasn't it Curtis' error that caused us to miss out on a playoff spot on the last day of the season?
4. Cheltenham are still in the bottom 4 in both the league table and the current form table.
Don't misconstrue this as an attack on Curtis Davies - in his prime, he was far, far better than Bradley will ever be - but facts are at least as important as opinions on here.
Facts are useful but you haven’t shown any by the way
point 2 well Bradley can’t really run quick enough to catch most forwards and he isn’t selected to play ahead of Nelson and Cashin which suggests he is last choice
point 3 recent good form ? - being barely functional doesn’t suggest good form and only being selected basically for a back three suggests limited ability to play in a partnership
point 4 well was that even a foul? Was it even in the box? All semantics Davies being a better at 39 probably edges the best value
but this is a forum of fans opinions and I respect yours whilst not agreeing with them.

Should have thanked him for his services at the end of last seasons catastrophic collapse.
I honestly think failure to get promotion this year would be catastrophic for this club in so many ways. Look how easy this division is and we are still arsing it up. Imagine if we have clubs like QPR, Huddersfield, Notts County, Wrexham...that's without Reading and Wigan potentially being more stable.
Whilst I can’t stand his style of football it was right to give him the season although his absolute scatter gun approach to signing players concerned me greatly. Yes in terms of the opposition this year certainly looked like the easiest/poorest league imaginable but remember he has 3 promotions from this league so it must have been just as poor on a least 3 occasions before.

I have had my season ticket over 40 years so I will buy one anyway but I also buy one for my mate so not so cheap, I totally understand people deliberating about buying one when faced with travelling long distances especially if what they are watching is considered football garbage. For me this season has been interesting because for various reasons ( bereavement, Hospital stays, holidays ) I have missed 6 home fixtures and it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest compared to all the previous seasons where missing one game would be tragic.
I won’t be buying mine until the last week though

He has a stubborn streak doesn’t he - thinking 3 centre half’s is the way to go even at home whatever it costs the team elsewhere in the selected team.
Does he have favourites? Well it seems to appear soDoes he give youngsters a chance, even in none sense cup games - not really
Does he sign players with huge recent injury records - absolutely
is he a good judge of a player ? - depends on your view point, use Bradley as an example - past 30 signed on high wages and looked not very good at all and fairly incapable of playing in a back 4 and when you compare to a Curtis Davies who played for very little for us in the past two seasons who never looked useless and positionally sound ( no surprise he is helping Cheltenham away from the relegation spots)
it's all about opinions but I think a lot of our players look as miserable as they can be weather or not they are playing or not

"can" but "hasn't" - it's not hard to understand.
Wasn’t playing at left back either

Sadly, in his last two appearances, he hasn't done either of those successfully, but I too would probably have picked him as LWB over what we ended up with.
The word was can - at left back there is more chance of him actually receiving the football to have opportunities to do either the way we play

One thing that has irritated me all season has been when an opposing player decides to have a lie down with the trainer on our whole team basically walks off the pitch to be replaced by about 6 or 7 people in grey tracksuits who must claim to be a coach or something and after the minimum five minutes they return to the pitch with yet another set of instructions. Well last night I saw about 6-7 of our players simply staying on the pitch in their positions, I have no idea if that means something but it something different to look at

Will never boo our team at end of match but was tempted last night. If we dont go up I would sack PW immediately. Season tickets will be down if fans are faced with another season of this football in league 1. If we do go up I would still sack him immediately. PW has shown nothing to suggest he will even consolidate us staying up in championship. I wouldnt want PW involved in any way in more player decisions at the club if it was my money. I would hope david clowes is planning for both scenarios and has someone who will give him good footballing advice. Having said that I will trudge for every home match, support team and manager whilst there and trudge home again, and even desperately try for at least one away.
100% totally sums me up as well

I wonder how many supporters would have selected that back four last night based on what we have seen this season with who was available?
For me the strongest and balanced back four available would have been Nyambe Nelson Cashin Sibley and yes Sibley could be a potential weak link it hasn’t really transpired that way when he has played and not to mention he can cross a ball and shoot. -

Agree with that, although Martin wouldn’t come back up here. He’s nicely settled in Bristol with the woman he cheated on his wife and left his kids for.
He went to QPR on loan last season so that’s not true, our manager openly stated that he didn’t want players like Martin when asked because he wants one that run around a lot and are good chaps and make him a coffee. Why would he want a Chris Martin who has demonstrated the highest goals ratio to minutes played in this league and controls the football and lays it off to others making forward midfield runs - but then again our midfielders aren’t allowed to do that.

I don’t really know what to say to this. To my mind, it seems very dramatic. Were we ever likely to dominate many games in league 1 where everyone is pretty gash? We have the second best goal difference in the league which does suggest we’ve been dominant relative to the league. What exactly do you think will happen if we replace Warne? We win every game from now until the end of the season 3-0?
If we do go up, I don’t doubt next season will be poor because, as you say, we will have worse players. We will probably finish in the bottom half. That’s what happens when you have worse players.
Next season we will have worse players is the depressing statement and the better players of a football are leaving or wanted away from Warneball for whatever reason given - McGoldrick to Notts county in a league below, Knight and Bird to Bristol city for goodness sake whilst NML has kept us away from the bottom half of this league of dreadful non football

So does Mendez-Laing. But not when they are being played out of position, they don't.
I thought it was deliberate to start with half a team playing in positions that they are not as good as in their best positions! Maybe it is so that he can tell them to change the team shape every ten minutes because he has got it wrong again

He's just refusing to let the 5 at the back go. It doesn't work and it doesn't suit our club. I honestly think he's persisting with it because its the only system he fully understands. Even when we play with a back 4 it feels like there's large tactical elements just missing from our play like Warne just doesn't know how to play it fully.
He doesn’t know how to play any football - let’s hope we get promoted somehow and he can leave

Actually we held a sweepstake tonight to guess the minute we would have an effort on target the winner was a mate who said 43rd minute whilst it was the 39 minute- most of us went for the second half around 70 minutes

I’d honestly love to see what others are seeing when they defend this stuff.
Football is garbage and when the results eventually turn all you’re left with is awful football.
I said it at the beginning of the season and got moaned at - At home we have been ok about twice whilst losing to two league two sides in the cups as well - try selling season tickets to watch that garbage again. We have the players to actually play real football and look decent
-
Absolute Dross
Cashin played well enough
Madness from Wildsmith and beyond poor from Wilson on the back pass and Bradley was allowed by Charlton to have the ball because they knew he would lose it and so easily outpaced
-
Not fair on Luton they got 30 point deduction and non league so I suspect they will hold no sympathy and they couldn’t appeal either
