All Nixon speculation obviously, and I note everybody remains fixated on Boro and Wycombe, but Morris also wants £20m to let ‘his’ stadium go to the new owners. ‘One of our own’ my arse. Suck it up Morris. Your mismanagement put us in this doodah and still you can’t walk away without trying to recover monies that would be better earmarked to ensure first the survival, and then the regeneration, of the Club.
I heard a few things several months ago and one of them was was that Morris wanted £20 million for the stadium or a figure for a yearly rental agreement which I won’t currently state plus something else so we will see what we end up with.

I think someone made a mistake there, no way should it be that much. I have spire status with Ihg hotels and I get free club lounge access which gives us two hours a day free alcohol and canapés between 17.30 and 19.30 so I won’t be hanging around after the match.
It was about 23-30hrs ?

We stay at the Crowne Plaza, nice setting on the Thames it’s about 3.5 miles to the ground so I’ll drive there. Always a pain parking near the ground though.
Once purchased a single Brandy and a small bottle of corona there - I paid by card and didn’t realise they charged £31 - it wasn’t even a nice Brandy ! - also had a chat with with David Moyes one evening there when Everton were playing the next day against Reading - he was as ratted as could be for a Scotsman but obviously more wealthy than me !

I agree that Davies could maybe do with a rest after 3 games in a week whether that is Mon or not we shall see, but I think it may be vs Coventry in the cup.
I would go with -
Allsop - Jagielka Stearman Forsyth - Byrne Thompson Bird Knight Ebosele - Lawrence Plange
Roos Davies Williams Jozwiak Morrison Baldock CKR
Definitely vs Coventry
-
No doubt Middlesbrough threatened to sue the EFL - it’s what they do

Alsop
Jags. Curtis. Stearman
Joz. Knight. Bird. Tommo. Fozzy

If we continue with a back 3, with the above 3 as options should we need a back 4, as much as I really like Buchanan and he’s still got tons of potential for his age, if a player has to go for whatever reasons for money, then losing Lee might hurt us less than others. We can also play Jozwiak as a wing back, he’s far more effective in that position.
Only sell our youngsters to premiership sides for big money - that’s my rules and I am sticking to them

I think Craig Forsyth had a really good game last night. Didn't put a foot wrong defensively, his passing was spot on and he was a constant outlet down the left.
He was playing very well before he got ill - then when Buchanan got injured he had to return a bit too early and it showed with some poorer performances - great Derby county servant

Yeah he’s got a better engine than Shinnie
Can someone confirm whether Curtis was taking the Michael yesterday when he said Thompson was “5ft2/5ft3”? I can’t believe he’s that small
At the west Brom game very early on he stood next to a West Brom player and the West Brom player was literally looking down at Thompson a long way down and the expression on his face was priceless - a bit like what do I do with this infant ?

Good to see them back to their usual selves - shyte despite spending bucketloads of cash on transfers and loanees.
If they don't go up this season, the only thing that will save them from a 12 point deduction is if some desperate mug pays them £10m each for Worrall and Johnson. Everyone else they've got is shyte.
They will sell the lad Johnson because Brentford want him and it will help pay their huge squad until the summer and I think they will get good money as well - Worrall I just can’t see anyone paying more than £1 million for him he’s average at best.

Genuine question, if you had to pick one team you'd hate to see go up the most, would it be Forest or Boro?
Boro currently but it’s not a great choice is it

It was rather nice to see Jozwiak slide that pass through to the young lad who tucked it away nicely - Jozwiak never seems to cross the ball but rather passes it so it was nice to see a run waiting for it.

Ive thought for several years that our players lacked desire and workrate for the championship, and that any team who really apply these two basic requirements, and then add a little experience and quality, would do well in this league. Wayne has done this to a tee and he is clearly a great motivator and reasonable tactician. People underrate his football knowledge because all they hear is a working class Scouse lad. But, when it comes to football, Wayne truly understands "the game".
If we start doing something with our throw ins who knows what we could achieve

As a Derby fan that would be a lovely moment if we somehow get close to it.

Previous seasons weren’t as skewed as this one us with minus 21 ReadingFC with minus 6 but are there anymore clubs likely to get done at the end of March ? That could have a huge reflection on the season and for me Cardiff seemed to be rather close to that possibility which is being made worse if the welsh government do not allow supporters into their stadium as their finances must be horrible.

I went to a 1-1 cup game at Vale Park one Christmas, I'm guessing 1991/2ish?
It was fecking Baltic.
Yep I was there - cold and dreadful game - we lost the home replay 2-3 with a glorious own goal I think
-
We need to win two thirds of our matches which will require one and probably two regular goal scorers - who knows where they could come from

Genuinely have no idea how Plange has retained his place after Saturday and I expect CKR doesn’t either…
Sibley not in squad is telling I feel….
Watson having now gone 14 sub appearances without getting a single minute (must be a record) is out the squad completely and he’s become the forgotten man….well, along with a couple of others who have disappeared off the planet when it looked like they may contribute…
I agree with Richards not starting as we get more from him as a sub in my opinion - maybe Sibley has a knock or covid isolation who knows - I see Shinnie is still absent

Agree, the european cup used to be for champions of each country with home and away games, so how can anyone win it now who is not even champion of their own league. To me you cant be champions of europe when you havnt even won your own league, just have you have said to much money, ruined the game.
Yes I agree - Liverpool won it having finished 4th in the premiership!

Shame for Stearman and Festy to be dropped after very good performances.
Other than that I’d probably have given CKR a game, although Lawrence’s return helps Plange.
To be fair we played two/ three days ago was it but they are involved if needed hopefully Lawrence and Jozwiak put in decent performances
