The Athletic STILL claiming in their headline that we could be relegated this season.
You expect it from the Mail where clicks = £ but click bait headlines is very poor from a subscription service. The actual chance of it must be lower than 1%.

I am not claiming total innocence but it is hardly a surprise that fans of other Championship clubs (+ Leeds) are happy to keep on peddling the line that we are cheating the system when the EFL leak news that allows articles such as those yesterday to be released.

Surely it isn’t as simple as saying that if we have to make adjustments, we fail P&S and get punished because if the EFL had done their jobs in the first place, as the governing body, they would have pulled Derby up on it. Derby would surely then have adjusted transfer plans accordingly to meet P&S at the time?

But the charge is relating to activity from years ago. Wycombe are no more entitled to benefit from it than whoever finished 22nd last season or whoever will finish 22nd next season. 
They can by all means wonder why the EFL didn’t make their case well enough in the original hearing, or why this appeal has dragged on and only reached a conclusion now.
Imagine a hypothetical situation where Derby were safe a month ago, put their feet up and played the U12’s for the rest of the season and ended up one point clear of 22nd, only to get docked points when it ends. That would be ridiculous, but the order Derby achieved their points in should have no bearing on when they receive their punishment, so is still ridiculous now.
