I miss the days where our transfer strategy was to get our targets to refuse to play for their clubs.
It’s no wonder there wasn’t much sympathy for us really

I have seen very little that suggests we are capable of making up 8 points, yes.
I don’t have much faith we’ll get players fit again. Some because they are very injury prone, some because I am concerned that the muscle and soft tissue injuries we have so far sustained are perhaps not coincidental although I am of course no expert in such matters.
I don’t think us last season is particularly relevant. We have lost the player who dragged us through lots of those games. I certainly know that a different team in a different league half a decade ago isn’t relevant at all.
If the question is whether it was more or less likely 8 points is recoverable if we changed manager then I know what the answer would be.

Sorry is that the Barkhuizen we signed on the 3rd July, 3 days after his contract ran out and 2 days after the takeover was finalised? Or a different one?

The way the ECB have destroyed 50 over cricket in this country has been so efficient it is hard to believe it is not deliberate.
From Root’s comments it sounds like they are eyeing up T20 next. The sooner they realise no one else is interested in buying up their hundred rubbish the better. If the Blast goes then so do half the counties who rely on the income from it.

It would be really nice if Sunderland were daft enough to bullet Mowbray sometime soon. He would be ideal

I agree but it won’t be happening based on an Athletic article I read yesterday morning. Pearce and Clowes scoffed at the idea when Matt Slater raised it to them on Tuesday evening. I think the plan is to get more football knowledge on to the board as NED’s but I would worry these would be sentimental appointments.
It seems crazy to me that you would not have football people in charge of football decisions but what do I know

Absolutely has to go. It must be at about 99% of fans who want him gone now.
Let’s get a young progressive manager in and start doing what we should have been doing when we had a great chance to reset 18 months ago. Sign young players, create value in the squad through generating assets, see ourselves as a selling club who reinvest what we bring in. Mistakes have been made, learn from them.

For the first time in my 15 or so years of going, if my ticket was up for renewal tomorrow I highly doubt I would bother. I am dreading Tuesday. Have gone from planning holidays around home games to not caring a jot if I organise something in place of a game and let some other poor sod have my ticket.
It isn’t supposed to be like this. Get him gone - I doubt I’m alone.

I would just love to know what we are building up to being. I am not sure if Warne even sees a vision of what he wants us to be, in truth. Let alone me.

Do Stevenage have a better squad than us or are they better coached?
I don’t think they have a better squad but their coach is Steve Evans so it is a serious concern if they are better coached.

But what is safe? Hiring a manager with 3 promotions from this level?
Ipswich with McKenna. Plymouth with Schumacher. I think the sport is changing. If you think about it, if you can attract someone “proven” at the level you are playing at you have to wonder why a) they would come to you and not be looking for better and b) why no one better wants them.
