Iniesta in a Derby shirt

An interesting trial is taking place in the US at junior/U21 level , can't remember exactly. If a player is "injured" and goes down on the pitch he is taken out of the game for 3 mins and game restart straight away. That way if somebody has cramps or is hit by a mosquito when their team are winning they have to think about it before sitting down to stop the game.

We have 2 problems
The size and age of the squad
Balancing the selection of good players who are tired and poor players who aren't.
Everything else is candy floss
Add another 2
If McGoldrick does not score we haven't got much else.
Lack of pace with CBs. I watched the "highlights" and for the second goal watching Cashin trying to get back is not a a good look. He looks like he is running through treacle

Maguire, Philips, Dier, Gallagher, James (Mr Sicknote)? Mount's done little this season, nor has Henderson. So predictable, so boring.
What about Tomori, Ben White, Solly March, Watkins....even Ben Mee who has been exceptional.
I don't get Tomori ahead of Maguire.
Deschamp does the opposite, if a player plays for CL club wherever that might be, he will consider the player for the France team. The simple reason is that the level of CL is on a par with international football, and Ligue 1 isn't.

SO it's time for the formula 1 show to arrive in Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Aramco Human Rights Grand Prix.
There are plenty of reasons to not watch it if you don't agree with the oppression of Sergio Perez (and some other issues). They've made the track slightly less of a death trap this year as well, which I'm sure Mick Schumacher appreciates.
However, eyeballs or not, the race will happen and the points will count.
So, will we see a different kind of track hamper Ferrari less, or help the Merc look a bit more competetive, will Alonso continue in happy Alonso mode, or will the return of the grumpster be shepparded in? WIll Alpine not be dumb? Will Haas be not dumb? All this and more and remember, if you try to view it from a non-athorised source without the express written consent of F1, Liberty media and SKy, you'll get your hands cut off.
You need to share your amusing, mildly cynical yet knowledgeable motorsports analysis to a wider audience. Your running commentary of the the F1 season might turn out to be the most entertainment we get all season. Thank you.

If VAR was in League 1, it likely gets overturned for simulation.
But it’s not and we know referees have quick decisions to make and can make mistakes whilst having to do that.
I am not saying it’s right but we know modern players are well versed in simulation and the only way you can get around that is by making a challenge you are going to win or not at all.
I don't want VAR at any level. Even more so in L1, the standard of refereeing is so bad we would spend just as long checking VAR and correcting decisions as in open play.

Reports that Reading will get another 6 point deduction after breaching the financial plan they agreed to last season when they were deducted 6 points and had another 6 point deduction suspended subject to them sticking to the agreement....

On the whole she was pretty good but made 2 bad decisions, not booking their guy for handball and stopping the game when were about to counter attack, after letting the game play on while they attacked with one of their players down.
Compare that to some of the other ref's we've had this season who have struggled to get 2 right decisions. Port Vale at home probably top of the pile. I agree she was good. She's off to the women's WC so must be doing the right thing.

TNT (used to be called BT Sport) appear to be favourites
FYI Apple have just paid $2.5 billion for the rights to broadcast the MLS games over here, so Sky are talking BS, Rams v Leeds in the Championship would get 1,000% more viewers globally than Brighton v Crystal Palace in the Premiership. Sky don't want the competition from the EFL being broadcast professionally.
$2.5 bn for the MLS, wtf?????
Mind you that's probably a dozen Iphone99Pro (or whatever overpriced version they are flogging at the moment)

The Premier League is the child of Thatcherism applied to football and no amount of White Paper will be sufficient to wipe away the schyte that pours forth. Football sold its soul to the devil and there ain’t no deliverance from that.

Similar in terms of heart, but Cash vastly superior in passing, heading and tackling ability.
Add composure to this. There are so many situations where Bucko would clear row Z, Cashin just gets the ball under control and it starts from there

On Netflix, The man who wanted to see it all. A documentary about this mad German who set off in the 60's with a few $ in his pocket and cycled to all countries in the world in 51 years. My dad actually met him when cycling in the south of France and bought a couple of the photos he was selling to fund his travel. Really enjoyed it.

Raising kids as I always, say is the most imortant "job" any adult will ever have, yet there is no training for it. The world we live in, social media, woke, so many variations of gender etc. has made it even more difficult i think. My kids are now yound adults so the job is done (I think?) but reading through this and "trying" to keep up with the worId makes me realise that parenting is not going to get any easier any time soon.

With RWC 2023 later this year, the 6 Nations comes around with some added spice this year. Now in the post-Eddie Jones era, can England prosper under newly appointed Steve Borthwick? Can the Irish take their Autumn Series form into the 6N and beyond to France? Will the French prove they are the strongest squad out there? Are the Scots doomed to be the nearly men and can Wales find any form at all? Chuck in the Wallabies looking to surge back under, yep, you guessed it, the irrepressible Eddie J and the All Blacks, desperate to re-establish their former dominance, this could be a belter of a year for egg-chaser fans.
Yours truly's long-range guesses:
6 Nations - Ireland
RWC - France
Best of luck to all!
That will do me!
Merci beaucoup
