therams69 reacted to MadAmster in Transfer rumours
That article should put to bed the idea that there's an issue with DCFC or PW or whatever. It's the way transfers work these days, as several of us have said. Gone are the days when you had your entire squad together when pre season started. Players and their agents hold the cards now, ahead of the selling club and way ahead of the buying/"borrowing" club.
FWIW I think PWs refusal to take players who don't fit the whole picture is the right one. His wanting players who are starting XI ready is the right one. He doesn't have a bottomless pit of money so he has to be as sure as is possible that any new player fits the role(s) he wants them for and is the right type of character for the club's philosophy.

therams69 reacted to MadAmster in Investment
Since my first Rams game in 1961, I can remember 3 times when we have been on the brink of extinction. Throwing huge amounts of money at a club is far from guaranteed to bring the success wanted. especially if several clubs are trying the same thing at the same time.
Ipswich built a squad over four years and had the money to do it. We got out of L1 in 2 seasons and weren't allowed to pay loan/transfer/agent fees. That drastically reduced the pool of players we could sign. Getting out in 2 years was an excellent performance. Until we get some inwards investment from a source David Clowes trusts we are where we are. DC doesn't have limitless liquid assets to pour into the club. he's probably gone as far as he sensibly can as most of his reported "worth" of £250M is tied up in non-liquid assets.
I'm happy for the squad to be tweaked over the next 3 seasons, improving year on year and only spending what we have. Boom and bust is not the way.

If you ever get the opportunity to chat to someone who was around the team at the time, ask them what sort of “leader” Keogh was during Nigel Pearson’s time at the club.

Hi all,
Please see the below from the family of Angie who sadly passed away last month. I knew Angie personally through Derby and was ever present at home and away games. Whether we took 200 on Tuesday nights under Clough, she was always there. Her commitment and support to our club was second to none. She will be deeply missed by all those that know her and this lady deserves the round of the applause on the 69th minute. Hopefully she will be looking down on us and giving us that support we need.
Our much loved Mum, Wife and massive Derby Fan Angie Vallance passed away recently. Angie travelled home and away to follow the mighty Rams for 25+years. She was well know to many and we would like to pay tribute to her.
To coincide with Black and White day and with such a massive, important game on Saturday 16th March V Bolton we would like to try and get our amazing fans to pay tribute to Angie in the stadium with a minutes applause on 69th Minute, the age she passed.
Please could you help us publicise this so we can give her a lovely tribute in the week of her funeral.
Again thanks to all of the football family you have all been amazing, your love and support has been such a comfort at this incredibly difficult time.
Thanks in advance
