  1. Wondering if someone can help - I'm thinking of ordering the yellow GK shirt rather than the third which I'm not a fan of; however, I've never had a GK shirt before... Is the fit the same as a standard shirt, are the materials the same etc? Living in Germany so can't just pop to the megastore to try it on and don't fancy the faff of paying to send it back if not right. Thanks!

I'll be honest with you when I was at the Huddersfield game I can't recall seeing anyone wearing a mask in the concourse or toilets so assumed that it wasn't necessary to wear masks at all in any area at the ground

Same, my first game this season was Forest at home. I read before the game on the DCFC pre match email that it is recommended you were one inside the concourse. Myself and my family then slipped one on before we went in, to find that we were the only ones wearing them and so didn't bother after that.

I think its a case of agreeing a punishment with the efl which will coincide with the accounts being submited & embargos removed

    Sign a few frees

Extend some contracts that run out in the summer

Try & get a takeover sorted

I think the biggest ticking clock now is on contracts. If we don't get a resolution by January, we could end up with half of the team, including promising academy players, either leaving for pittance or on a free in the summer.

Why would we agree to a points deduction - what have we done wrong here?!

It's basically like scrabble. Our team starts with a D, so that's -3 and ends in a Y so that's -6. It's unfortunate, but that's the rules that the EFL have just made up.

@Carneroprobably said this twenty minutes ago but…

Estoppel got thrown out at the Sheff Wednesday hearing (the EFL wrongly advised / endorsed their actions).

I’m fairly sure that Wednesday didn’t have St Nick de Marco at that hearing.  As he’s on a retainer with us, if I were Mel I’d be doubling down.

The embargo doesn’t scare me.  Sibley’s gonna keep us up on his own.

All depends on what impact this has on the takeover, I'm guessing that will be Mels primary concern at the moment.

  6. Once we've submitted the accounts, do we immediately go into soft embargo, or do we have to wait for some form of EFL review and approval first? I'm hoping the latter is already happening and the cause for the delay in any case.

Agreed. Although, the status with the HMRC still remains unknown. I think it was one of the questions put towards Mel at the meeting, but can't see I've seen a direct answer for it. I know Chris Coles said we were looking to pay the taxman 'some' money a couple of weeks ago, but it's still listed on the EFL website as being one of the reasons behind our embargo.

Wasn't the reason behind not paying HMRC yet because we have to see what's in the accounts we can publish to know how much we have to pay? Could be wrong.

My understanding is that it really wouldn't take too much to at least move into a soft embargo and open up an additional 10+ spaces as players under 23 (21) don't count under a soft embargo. Pay the HMRC, publish the accounts and then crack on.

Mel is dragging his heels, like he has done with everything else to do with the club this summer. I think even if we are in breach of P&S, we still end up in a better situation - similar to Reading.

And the accounts have to be submitted by this time next week whatever happens, so talk of selling/releasing players to create another slot is too rash at the moment, let's see where we are at next week and take it from there.

I know that’s a World Cup squad rule, I guess it makes logical sense in this situation though.

Either way, a fee for Marshall could help alleviate some of the embargo restrictions, especially if we promote a younger age bracket goalkeeper / another free.

Guessing he desperately wants to get shot of Marshall to bring in another forward? (As plan B if umbongo not lifted next week).

A lot of people saying we officially need to have 3 goalkeepers in the 23, so selling Marshall would only free up another goalkeeper slot and not for an outfield player. Not sure whether that's been confirmed anywhere or not.
