They don't seem to have noticed this yet on Mordor - they're too busy slagging off their Chairman for saying that any stadium improvements may be 5 years away and claiming that loads of fans have phoned and emailed to say they agree with the ticket price hike. Can't blame for that tbh, he sounds like the Owner's stoolie.

True.  In fact I phoned and emailed twice.

My understanding is existing season ticket holders use last seasons card and new holders or those moving seats will be issued with a new card, though not sure when that will ge.

South Stand Upper will also get new tickets (says this in my renewal email from club).  Don’t know why.

If people are just moving then their old seats would be available.

I did forget to mention though that a large block of around 200 have been sold/ reserved/ held back in the North stand upper block A, probably taken up by sponsors.

The number of seats available now which will become the seats available for match day tickets is already less than at the start of last season.

Do you know if a certain number or proportion of seats have to be held back for match day sales? Tks

  4. We’ve got de Sart,

    Julien de Sart,

We just don’t think you understand,

    We’ve never heard of him,

so let’s just call him Jim,

    We’ve got Julien de Sart.

an absolute collector’s item, heard at West Brom away in the FA Cup (I think) and not very often thereafter.

  5. Article about Marinakis in today’s i Newspaper.  Too long (and probably against copyright law!) to quote extensively, but I was particularly struck by this…. It is claimed he has a custom-built “throne” at the city ground.

    And…

”More recently, he was fined £26,000 for abusing one referee in Greece and banned from entering the field of play for abusing another.”

    And…

He “is still under investigation for his alleged role in the Noor One case, Europe’s largest drugs bust.  He strongly denies any involvement.”

  6. Just read this thread in one go.  I was expecting a lot of negative stuff so was pleasantly surprised - I guess it helps greatly that we’ve been promoted but all the stuff praising the opposition’s fans is spot on.  They’re supporting - for the most part - very unfashionable clubs.  Their HOME town.  Looked down upon by many - including us until we had to join them.

As some have said, the Carlisle fans summed it up perfectly - great fans, decent fans.  Next season I’m looking forward to renewing rivalries but at times the atmosphere will be toxic.  Until I read this thread, I didn’t realise that I might actually miss League 1 just a little bit.

Seconding this. You also have pubs to break up the walk to and from the ground.

Thirding this - used it for years.  Now use the car park next door on Exeter Street near junction with Derwent Street as this is “card only” and even on match days is almost empty.

Oh really? Well I'm pretty certain after the deadline you will easily get 2 together in SW or if you are on the ball, the South Stand (I have 2 people next to me 100% not renewing in the South Stand)

So I would secure the season ticket in this first phase at whatever seat then relocate, they will fund the difference when you relocate I would imagine.

Last season I nearly went SW as lots of seats become available after deadline but decided against it. (Before the deadline there was minimal seats)

I definitely recommend SW corner.  I’ve been in South Stand near SW corner since SS opened to home fans.  This season more than ever before, SW corner fans join in the singing and have often started chants - including the excellent “south stand, south stand start a song”!  Get on the ticket website early when it opens for general sale and you’ll have a good chance.

Remember Forest blowing a 3 point lead and a 7 goal swing when they played like a pub team against Stoke and Swansea turned into 1970 Brazil for the evening.  4 goals is nowt.  Peterborough have a  9 goal swing to make up.  That seems too much but they have a lose 5 nil, win 4 nil habit.  All a bit stressful.  2-0 at halftime please to make me feel better Derby.

While we’re talking about forest….  Greatest example of taking an outcome for granted…. YEOVIL! 😀

Over in the Netherlands, Vitesse have been deducted 18 points, and, with only four games to go, could very well end the season on -1 point.

Ah yes…. “Daar klampen wij ons aan vast en ganne we volle bak mee door”

I’m sure we all concur - I couldn't have put it better myself

Tragic 8k empty seats in such a massive game.

Nearly 20,000 home fans - I think that’s creditable given Bolton is not a big city and they’re down the road from the Manchester clubs. I respect fans who support their home town club rather than be tempted by the bright lights of big neighbours - eg fans of Orient, Stockport and - yes - even Wycombe who could easily be lured away to support a big London club.

We are actually 5th highest scorers behind Bolton, Peterborough, Barnsley and Oxford.

Not bad at all given so many injuries to our strikers.  We are joint best “goals against” (with Pompey and Lincoln).  Telling us what we already know - we’ve got some good defenders.

Fair play to the Orient fans BTW. Came in good numbers for a (for them) nothing game, 2-0 down by half-time and their team hardly venturing over the halfway line, but they stayed the courser and made a noise, giving some witty responses to the South Stand. Hope they do well next season.

“Champions of League 2, you’ll never sing that” I think it was.  Great stuff, really witty - plenty in South Stand applauded.
