  1. Thanks Wayne. Once a Ram etc
  2. Article about Marinakis in today’s i Newspaper. Too long (and probably against copyright law!) to quote extensively, but I was particularly struck by this…. It is claimed he has a custom-built “throne” at the city ground. And… ”More recently, he was fined £26,000 for abusing one referee in Greece and banned from entering the field of play for abusing another.” And… He “is still under investigation for his alleged role in the Noor One case, Europe’s largest drugs bust. He strongly denies any involvement.”
  3. Just read this thread in one go. I was expecting a lot of negative stuff so was pleasantly surprised - I guess it helps greatly that we’ve been promoted but all the stuff praising the opposition’s fans is spot on. They’re supporting - for the most part - very unfashionable clubs. Their HOME town. Looked down upon by many - including us until we had to join them. As some have said, the Carlisle fans summed it up perfectly - great fans, decent fans. Next season I’m looking forward to renewing rivalries but at times the atmosphere will be toxic. Until I read this thread, I didn’t realise that I might actually miss League 1 just a little bit.
  4. One game to go - Birmingham still in the relegation zone 🤞
  5. Thirding this - used it for years. Now use the car park next door on Exeter Street near junction with Derwent Street as this is “card only” and even on match days is almost empty.
  6. I definitely recommend SW corner. I’ve been in South Stand near SW corner since SS opened to home fans. This season more than ever before, SW corner fans join in the singing and have often started chants - including the excellent “south stand, south stand start a song”! Get on the ticket website early when it opens for general sale and you’ll have a good chance.
  7. While we’re talking about forest…. Greatest example of taking an outcome for granted…. YEOVIL! 😀

Wow - what a display - the flags, the banners, the scarves, the singing - the relentless singing. Absolutely stunning.
  9. Chris Martin given 4-match ban. Presumably he won’t be playing today. Doesn’t sound like the CM we knew. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68864291
  10. Ah yes…. “Daar klampen wij ons aan vast en ganne we volle bak mee door” I’m sure we all concur - I couldn't have put it better myself
  11. The big clubs have enough players to put out a reserve team if they want - their 25th best player would likely be paid more than the whole of a lower league’s first team. So IMO it’s not fixture congestion, it’s just that they don’t make enough money playing against little teams. Selfish, selfish, selfish.
  12. He took Stevenage from bottom of League Two to where they are now. Earlier successes too. At this level, he’s a good manager. Got to be a chance they’ll beat Brum, surely? 🤞
  13. Nearly 20,000 home fans - I think that’s creditable given Bolton is not a big city and they’re down the road from the Manchester clubs. I respect fans who support their home town club rather than be tempted by the bright lights of big neighbours - eg fans of Orient, Stockport and - yes - even Wycombe who could easily be lured away to support a big London club.
  14. Curtis Davies scored Cheltenham’s winner last night against Burton. He’s still got it in him! (No filthy memes please).
  15. Yes - I like it a lot.
  16. Not bad at all given so many injuries to our strikers. We are joint best “goals against” (with Pompey and Lincoln). Telling us what we already know - we’ve got some good defenders.
  17. “Champions of League 2, you’ll never sing that” I think it was. Great stuff, really witty - plenty in South Stand applauded.
  18. South East corner? That’s the away fans, surely!
  19. Apologies if this has been posted already - this is on Derby RSPCA website and in their latest newsletter (out today to supporters). Nice tribute to B4. https://www.rspcaderby.org.uk/news-events/memory-daniel-beavis
  20. Out of touch lunatic - I like that! He’s certainly way too confident - he says something like “I’ve made thousands of decisions since I got here and perhaps got one wrong” - the firing of Eustace. Out of all those decisions - what colour should we paint the toilet walls, who should be our pie supplier?” - the only one he got wrong was the mega-super important one - the one that could (fingers crossed) see them relegated!
  21. Birmingham is going to be a “powerhouse” according to the American owner. He admits the firing of Eustace was a bit hasty. Sounds confident - I’d say smug - in this interview… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68771261 Bit mean, I know - but I’m willing him to fail.
  22. The league where - with 4 games to go - we’re 8 points behind the leaders, who have won 9 and drawn 3 of their last 12 games
