I reckon that if an applicant for the Supporters Board said that they have wide approval from this forum, then it might be seen positively during the application process.
I think it would be great if a well-respected poster ended up on the Supporters Board because it would be a brilliant channel between a significant group of fans and the club.

Forest denied a blatant penalty a couple of minutes before that hammer blow too, what a Saturday!

Don’t forget, to quote Warney, “there’s very little difference between the sides in this division “.

    Form Guide
    Derby: Crap and uninspiring
    Vale: Even worse

    Recent History
The three meetings between the sides since Derby were relegated have all been won by the visiting side. Each match has been won by a single goal margin.

    Aspirations
Derby are doing their best to blow their chances of automatic promotion. Vale are trying their utmost to fall into the bottom four.

Well, like for many others, that has stuffed me completely. Had long ago planned the Easter weekend, and due to long standing arrangements on the Tuesday I won't be able to go or even watch the match on RamsTV.
This game was part of getting me to the 15+ away category for next season, assuming ticket priority sales are the same, making it easier getting tickets with a 15+ mate that at present is hit and miss and a complete pain in the rear juggling with each match.
On reflection Sky has now taught me a valuable lesson in not getting hung up about being able to actually attend matches. The great works they do in skewing the leagues making them ultra competitive such as with money used for parachute payments (Come on Leicester, Leeds and Southampton, you plucky clubs can miraculously bounce straight back up to the PL!) is more important than fans that actually go to the games.
As it's only going to get worse next season then I just need to get my head round the slight obsession I have with going to games, and accept that to have any sort of life outside of football without a completely clear diary for the year means that supporting Derby in person is going to be more hit and miss in future.

I’m not suggesting anyone is right or wrong but I do question what is driving peoples point of view and I think sometimes it would be valuable to genuinely question whether you’re angry with Warne or whether you’re just generally angry that Derby lost.

Im always irrationally angry when Derby lose. I hate everyone- the opposition players, the opposition manager, derbys players and manager etc
After a bit of reflection, I often realise that none of those people are to blame. Or, if they are to blame like obviously Wildsmith was, there’s no value in demonising them. Wildsmith is a good keeper who happens to have made two high profile mistakes in recent games. He’s still good. He’s going to make more mistakes in his career.
Same with Warne. Would the grass be any greener with any other manager? I tend to doubt it

Getting the right person is far more important than where they live. If you're willing to travel to meetings, and engage with the board, then go for it.
Someone has already proposed you, so you should strongly consider it.

Ken Tram reacted to Cheftyke1 in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
Barnsley fan in peace here. I must say from browsing this forum, the Pompey forum and the Bolton forum. It is a little surprising how the general consensus is that this is a three horse race.
Win our game in hand and we are level on points. We’ve also got Bolton to play at home.
We’ve had a pretty strange season having to deal with a lot of upheaval in the summer and it feels to me like we’re only now starting to go through the gears. I think we will probably also benefit from experience of last season going into this run in.

I’m quite happy for us to fly under the radar, but don’t be surprised if we finish strongly.

should be an exciting few months in any event!

Yes, it's less about who is on it, more about a split in what is discussed.
The focus of SCG will continue to be on matchday issues, Pride Park, ticketing, heritage etc.
The SB will be about governance, strategy and core values, finance, and those issues identified in the Government White Paper, such as club colours, ground sale/ location club crest  etc.
There is more likely to be information that can't be shared immediately at SB than at SCG, due to commercial confidentiality. BUT, the Club wishes to share everything with time-lapse.
Having fulfilled a similar role for many years in a health setting, I'd say it is the less glamorous role of the two, it's more of a watching brief, critical friend type role. Hopefully it could meet for years but never have anything of concern that it needs to act on.
Whereas SCG will be about immediate issues of relevance to the day to day support.
Just to clarify,  there will be both individuals and organised groups on both SB and SCG, just as there are now on SCG.
I think it's a good question on gauging views, as it also is for the current SCG.
That's much easier for groups with a defined membership than it is for individuals. I would like to think that will be an early topic for discussion when it is set up.
I am no expert on this stuff, btw, but I have read the documents drawn up by the SCG members who have worked on this. They are linked on the advert, and are definitely worth a read.

This needs regulating now. If the away supporters are unable to get home via train it shouldn't be allowed, simple as.
The only train back to derby after the match takes 8hrs 40min

I know. It’s two losses back to back, and it’s easy to say ifs and buts, but if Wildsmith doesn’t s*** the bed and give away the penalty, and we go on to win 1-0, what’s different?
It’s the exact same performance except we’re 3 points further ahead and everything is a lot more positive.
It’s the downside of playing football in this way, if you keep winning then brilliant but it only takes a couple of defeats before the pitchforks are out. We had this issue a few months ago and went on a run of great form. If we can sort ourselves out and stay positive then I think we can hit good form again, the problem is the league is poor, and there’s no reason why Bolton can’t also do the same.
