Hull City boss reveals transfer excitement as Tigers prepare for Sheffield Wednesday
Barry Cooper Hull City correspondent
15:41, 10 AUG 2023
City have plans to bring in as many as five new players before the 11pm deadline on September 1 and while the club have lodged a third bid for Derby County midfielder Max Bird, it's understood he is not the player Rosenior is hinting about.
-
Laughable article with Warne saying we need two more strikers on top of Collins and Washington last night.
-
When asked tonight about Bird being on a free (yes I know about compensation due to age) or taking a fee now his answer was
" Promotion to the champ is worth he thinks 12mill so is it worth keeping Bird to maybe get that and a new contract discussions at a higher level or sell now for a smaller amount....that is what you have to decide"
Also if he stays plays well then better clubs than Hull will be interested.

Also! It’s just occurred to me, Derby so far aren’t currently saying he’s not for sale…we all love Bird but Smith and Hourihane have so far been playing in his preferred position and Bird has played a role that would suit Sibley in pre season.
Not saying im right or wrong, gonna be interesting what Warne says tonight tbh.
He will probably say the same has he always does when asked the. question.
"We are are under no pressure to sell and want Max to stay I think the world of Max and he had not said he wants to go.However if a mega bid is made and it is good for the club we will have to consider it

I've seen mention that he can cover LWB? Not sure if that's right, but he would be a really good option at RWB for us. It gives more depth as Ward can play further forward, and Wilson can also play in a flat back 4, so gives us flexibility should we wish to change things mid-game.
Can see the logic in his signature highly rated till he signed for Brizzle and got the Pearson treatment. Still young with potential to improve maybe he can cover lwb but he may not have too be because Ward has played there before.

Godden has had his injury problems over the past few seasons at Coventry also picked up 2 game ban for simulation one of the few that has.

B4 is not going to be pleased

also don't think Ladapo and Warne were all that friendly(?)
They had a difficult relationship after Lapado said he wanted to leave..... Warne dropped him them only played him sporadically for the rest of the season.

Am i missing the point???
If we get £1m transfer fee, plus £1m wages ( £20k per week), thats £2m.
How much do we still owe Arsenal??
Surely we should have, at the very least, instigated a bidding war to cover what we owe!!!
Very poor negotiating in my book....
Hope its not still Stephen Pearce at the centre of it all!!??
Hard to have a bidding war with only one interested party apparently.
The repayments to arsenal were factored into this year's budget, so all or most of the fee and wage savings are all available to the club to spend.
And yes Stephen Pearce deals with transfer and contact negotiations.

Good luck Krystian had bad luck with injuries but could never fault his efforts on the pitch we over paid for him but that is not his fault.
The goal against Birmingham execution and emotion will live long in my memory.

I hope they have a big folder to over all his injury history.

Should imagine it varies according to a players abilities, experience and length of contract.Personally,I'd be delighted ,if he has to go,if we could get £2m for him. That fee plus a saving on his wages would equate to £2.5m
Cameron Brannagan at Oxford is regarded has one of if not the best midfield player in the division the past few seasons.
Beginning of last season Blackpool triggered a 1.5m buy out clause he though decided to remain at Oxford.
He has played apart from 3 appearances for Liverpool played 200 games at this level,he is not a international and transfer market has his current value at 500k.
Jason has played more at a higher level is a current international and appears to be in demand so a fee up to or above 1.5 should be achievable if we want to sell.

Posh fans keen for him to leave reading their forum.... Inconsistent, not good enough for league one... Appears he is public enemy no1 after their playoff melt down

Heard ages ago that he didn’t want to stay here. Wasn’t so much Notts County (in spite of his nice message), more that he doesn’t want to play for Paul Warne. Was the case with many of our targets in January as well. Players don’t like his management style.
The same has players sign for other clubs because they do not like Peps style and Jurgen style..... It's called personal choice.

Would not have mattered what Warne and Derby offered once a player's heart is set on moving to his boyhood club so no issue with this move.
Players come and go the trick is replacing with better this move would have been known about for weeks. Look forward to seeing where we move on bringing players in
Best of luck Didzy been a joy to have you with us.

I am fed up with these international managers sticking their nose into club affairs that do not concern them.
If they feel the player should be playing at a higher level then keep it between the player and themselves, it is not obviously affecting his performance levels or he would not select him.
