  1. Portsmouth is a proper football ground with proper footballing fans. Both sets of supporters were brilliant and got behind their teams. My voice was struggling towards the end. Pompey will finish top. Hopefully, we finish second because I hate the playoffs. Come on you Rams. I'd have taken a boring 0-0 draw before the game. In actuality, it was a brilliant game and I think, the draw was a fair result.

1-0! NML after good cf work by Collins.

Collins battled for the header, Bird with the hooked pass to play NML through on goal, NML calmly slots it home.

Max Bird assist for those who don’t rate him 😉

I'm not a great fan of Bird. But, fair play to him today. He is having a good half.

Never hated a manager more than Warne. A complete charlatan & he knows it, hence the jovial nonsense to deflect how he's turned us into a Sunday League team. Not stepping foot in PP again until he's booted down the road.

What an idiotic post. I don't know why I keep looking at this forum. Good result against a difficult team to play against at this level.

Take out the ridiculous mistakes in this game and it finishes 1-1.

I think the only goals in this game which were any good were Thiago Silva’s header and City’s third. Both penalties, Chelsea’s second and third, plus the Akanji header and Rodri’s strike were all shambolic defending.

Made for a great game though.

I bet you are a bundle of laughs at a party 🥳😉. A really enjoyable watch. Neither team deserved to lose.

For those not so well educated, let me explain...

A pair of thrupennies = a sixpence.  The nickname for a sixpence was a tanner.  Tanner rhymes with spanner.  A spanner is also called a wrench in the suburbs of The United States of Cockinee .  The word "wrench" is, as near as damn it, identical to the word wench.  A wench was synonymous with a female woman... oft of ill-repute... and oft with large breasts.  (This was, of course, back in ye days of olde yore, well before it was considered ungentlemanly to refer to such personal anatomysticals!)

Erm... so, where was I?  Oh yeah... tits.  He's referring to tits.  So now yer know!

    You're welcome.

*Ye olde custom of putting tanners in a Xmas pudding bears no resemblance to the above... unless it's being served up by a voluptuous wench, of course!  In which case, may I be the first to wish you a Merry bloody Xmas, everyone!

I almost have tears flowing down from my eyes from laughing. Brilliant post. This is the best thread on the forum since forever.

  6. I remember a hundred years ago and was absolutely starving and invested in a meat pie, was it at Ipswich or Norwich, not sure but it was at one of those grounds. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. However, the pictures on this thread have gone to a new level. I'm so grateful that I never eat inside a ground anymore. I am sure that whatever side of any arguments we are on, we all agree! That food inside a football ground is disgusting. Sleep well everyone.

You however are a football supporter that does understand it right?

No, not completely and I have been wrong about many things in football such as the appointment of Jim Smith. I have been involved in grassroots football for many years and have occasionally been paid for doing so (a little pocket money only) but I wouldn't call myself a professional within the game. However, I do trust the opinion of the true professionals. If the speculation is accurate, we are talking about Championship clubs who think he can do a job in a higher division than he is currently playing in. Doesn't that suggest something, such as he's considered to be a decent footballer.
