If Nigel had one strength .. he could pick a player. Whether it was attitude or skill I think he had a very good eye for a good fit. 
I am impressed with the ones we got. Jags and Morrison are the sort of left field signings that can get the best out of our young guns. Baldock and Stearman are good solid pros that fill some gaps. 
 
it’s transitory given players ages but, less a star striker, we have a team with an appealing balance .. and don’t forget Knighty and Bielik to come back. Quietly impressed with whatever is going on in the background team and recruiting  wise

In the 23 you have to have 3 keepers that’s why so not his fault really 

Fair to say Rooney’s recruitment under different circumstances would have been a lot different, with hands tied he’s done the best we could have hoped for.
Jagielka is the pick of the bunch for me, looks to be a great signing, his class, experience and reading of the game is there for all to see.
At his age we can’t expect to see him play week in week out, but even his presence will have a positive effect with his knowledge of the game.
Can’t help but question Sheff United’s decision to release him.

Can see one keeper going out (Marshall) giving a berth for another incoming (not keeper ) 

Personally I think the only mistake he’s made would be adding a third keeper as it’s preventing an outfield player coming in…..can’t fault him with the conditions he’s working in to be fair 

It's hard to argue against this.
Players come without the big price tags, expectations are a lot lower and in many cases having been released they probably feel they have a point to prove.
What works even more in our favour is that the signings have been limited to 12 months, you would imagine this will be Jagielka's last before retirement, however the others will be playing for one more contract be it at Derby or elsewhere, almost like an extended trial.
Morrison has to prove he has the hunger for the game still, started well so far, showing frustration today as the team were not pushing up. This isn't one last contract, but a chance to revive his career at a decent level.

Early days but - given the circumstances under which he's been operating, the limit on numbers, the massive wage restrictions - he's shown great creativity and a real eye for a player who can not only improve the squad but bring the best out in other players. 
No one would have chosen the embargo but it's quite possible we look back on this window as far more successful than some of those in which we wasted millions upon millions

Maybe the 10 thousand less support is the fact we’ve been through a pandemic in which 1000s of people have lost jobs and not much income. People are still a bit weary of COVID and also the way in which the club has been and is being the run at the moment by a guy who isn’t interested. Maybe when he sells the club and we get a fresh start of being run properly and the economy starts to turn again and we see more households gaining income and people start to see the vaccine working to its full potential and become less scared the attendances will start to rise back to where it was. Some loyal fans will be in the job attendees so give them some slack

After everything warnock experienced alongside jagielka in their careers he should be ashamed of how he conducted himself today.
Despite his wwe striker elbowing jags and splitting his face open, pulling his shirt in every single challenge and then promptly falling over every time its jags who should be sent off.
Jags should be proud of how he conducted himself today. Warnock, who I used to have some respect for, can get ducked.

Thought Boro had a plan and stuck to it, increasing the pressure with their higher line in the second half. Maybe Rooney could've kept on Sibley, as he was growing into game and everything threatening was going through him. Maybe he could've taken off Joswiak first. All in all a good point. Bird had a good first half. Davies good throughout.

Definitely feels like a bit of a siege mentality developing at the club right now and not just the coaches and players either. Might be a few less this season, but what our support may lack in numbers, they're certainly making up for with noise.
I'm still getting palpitations every time one of our players goes down, as the squad still lacks any depth, but I do feel that our starting 11 can at very least compete. I savaged Rooney end of season but will begrudgingly admit that he's got us playing a lot better now.

Really good analysis. On Sibley, he is exciting in moments but he needs to improve his tactical awareness, positioning when the opposition have the ball and his concentration when committing himself in closing players down. Basically get better at the duller side of the game
