Incredibly harsh on Lowe that for me. Wasn’t great defensively but he was our biggest attacking threat for me. I can understand dropping Bogle to try and get a bit more defensive quality and resilience into the backline, but dropping both fullbacks leaves us with a defence that looks very slow and lacks a fair bit in distribution quality. I worry about our play out the back today. But I suppose that’s the trade off for bringing a bit of experience back in the side. It’s difficult for Cocu as we don’t really have a backline that gives us everything we need so I do feel for him. But I do fear he’s gone too far the other way with that defence, and we might struggle to play the ball out under pressure, which we did well the other night.
Rest of the team is of course as expected.

Bayern - 2nd in their national league (3 groups). Topped their group containing Spurs, Red Star, and Olympiakos
Dinamo - 2nd in their national league. 2nd in group behind Atalanta, but ahead of Man City and Shakhtar. Beat Kyiv in the Play-offs

Rennes - 10th in their national league (2 groups). Beat Brodarac, Petach-Tikva and Brugge.
Juventus - 4th in their national league. Topped their group containing Alt Madrid, Leverkusen, and Lokomotiv
Real Madrid - 1st in their national league (7 groups). Topped their group containing Brugge, PSG and Galatasaray
I'm not sure if we're on the good side of the draw or the bad side. Atalanta are the team to watch. Won their league last season and topping it this season. Benfica are flying ahead in their U19 league, and Salzburg probably are too. Real Madrid the other danger side based on how they're doing in their national league. On balance we probably have the tougher half.

If you don't mind me saying, you've appear to have made the classic mistake of comparing an on-line football forum... an entity set up specifically for football fans to air their thoughts, opinions, and summaries... with a football stadium, designed primarily to host a football match, but also to house those individuals who wish to attend and support/encourage their favoured team.
    Two totally different entities.
However, you aren't the first, and undoubtedly won't be the last, to make such a mistake.  Like I say, it's a classic.  🐏

Anyone think Lowe and bogle left out due to the wind and that Huddersfield will play a direct brand of football, which means with the back four we have selected should in theory be better in the air.

Must win game but there are signs of an excellent style of play developing. We need a GK, striker, CH and a winger from youth or transfer market. Unbeaten run until end of season pretty much essential now. We have to make up 11 points out of 42. Preston or Brizzie need 32 points from 14 games to thwart us. That is 10 wins and 2 draws from 14 games otherwise we have a chance of play offs.

Hi, first time poster, long time stalker of the forum.
I don't think things are as bad as they look. A new keeper, cb, and a winger and I really think we could push for promotion next season. This is what I would do with the current squad of players with a reasoning. I know this will be unrealistic as you can only sell players if they have a buyer, but here it goes:
    Release:
Huddlestone - although I think he triggered another year, we already have a lot of depth in this position and he is the easiest player to move on Anya - quite self explanatory, one of the worst value for money buys ever Sell:
Malone - With Lowe and Fozzy ahead of him, plus Buchanan coming into the first team picture, I think he himself will want first team football Jozefzoon - Really not worked out after 1 decent season with Brentford, just doesn't show the quality or consistency he supposing has Evans - Similar to Huddlestone, we have a lot of options here. I actually thought he was one of the best performers at the start of the season, but with Rooney and Bird playing in his position since then, I cant see him getting many minutes Marriott - I know a lot of people like him, but considering the hype he gets, it has to mean something if our last 2 managers haven't made him our first choice striker. I also think out of the 3 strikers we have he has the biggest sell on value which will be much needed Roos - at 27, I don't think you're gonna get much improvement from him. As a backup keeper, surely Ravas, Barnes or Foster will be good enough? This would leave us with the below. Assuming a target of 2 first team players per position in a 4231 plus some of the academy breaking through we would have a well balanced squad
    GK - New, Ravas
    RB - Bogle, Wisdom, Ebosele
    LB - Lowe, Forsyth, Buchanan
CB - Te Weirik, New, Davies, Wisdom/Forsyth
CDM - Rooney, Bird, Bielik, Shinnie, J Brown, Dixon
AM - New, Lawrence, Holmes, Knight, Sibley, Mitchell-Lawson, A Brown
    ST - Waghorn, Martin, Whittaker, Hector-Ingram, Hepburn-Murphy
20 first team players plus support from the academy is a lot more sustainable than what we currently have. I have obviously been really optimistic about us not loosing any of our main players or youngsters such as Bogle, Knight, Bird etc but would love to hear your thoughts

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but I thought he was the best player on the pitch. Hard to move the ball forward when players aren't showing for it.

Worth bearing in mind that Bogle, Bird, Knight and Mitchell Lawson were all eligible for that team today.
Shows to me the incredible strength in depth that we have at u19 level.

The win at Brizzle City last season made me think we might actually go up. When the chips were down we showed our true strength and won 0-2. I thought I'd remind myself of that game at the end of April: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47994358

Wow! Less that 10 months later we are playing with an entirely different team. At this point I'd say there are only 2 guaranteed starters from that last game in Lawrence and Waghorn. Bogle might make it 3. Roos and Malone could take it up to 5. Of the 18 unless Josefzoon is brought in from the cold or Tom Huddlestone springs up off his injury bed, only Jack Marriott will add to those numbers. Just 6 out of 18 players - that is the nature of the revolution being wrought at Derby.
Shinnie and Davies apparently had a good impact on the Swansea win (if the matchthread is to be believed). Do they stay in? After all, Martin had made a big impact in the prior games but was dropped. It's good that Max Bird is seizing his chance and playing well. Lowe's suspension is over. Is Fozzy capable of three games in a week? Will Marriott have a run? Will Sibley become a regular, at least on the bench, before the season's out? Ben Hamer is shortly to drop out because he can't play against his Huddersfield team on Saturday anyway. Does he make way for this, on a ground where Roos kept a clean sheet last season? I was surprised by Cocu today. For Wednesday I think we'll see:
    Roos
    Bogle     Wisdom     Clarke     Lowe
    Bird       Shinnie
    Holmes     Rooney     Lawrence
    Waghorn
Subs:  Hamer Davies Forsyth Knight Sibley Martin Marriott
