           Stearman Jagielka Davies

    Byrne                                     Buchanan
                     Bird.   Shinnie

                         Morrison
                 Baldock.      Lawrence

no start for Sibley or Jozwiak in this one

Bring them on when we are two goals down.

Which is exactly why Wayne is desperately trying to get out team to be braver on the ball in the second halves. For some reason we seem to allow the opposition the ball and sit back off their defence and let them control the game. If we can carry out the style of play we see in the first half for both halves we are on to a winner. If we have the ball for the majority of the game, second half as well as first, the players will be far less anxious and consequently hurt far less.

They usually bring on subs then start to control the game after half time.

What on earth  does 'protecting standards" mean? Unless it was intentional nothing is being protected. Not surprised about the ban because it looks horrible but look how deliberate and careful Fossie was with the subsequent movement of both of his legs+feet. Given his body position prior to the 'stamp', avoiding the player in the ground would have  been difficult in any case. Hard to tell intent here if there was any. Fossie has not been given the benefit of any doubt, but we often see dangerous play like this penalised.

I have no idea whether it was deliberate. I do not think it was but I think that I would have given at least three games because of how it looked. By standards, I mean it could not be let go because of how it looked. I have never seen one that 'looked' like that in my life. Many players have got away with intentional fouls and vice versa. As we will never be certain about most of these incidents they will generally be judged on how they looked at the time and decided by people who are paid to make these decisions. Foz's career record makes it seem as certain as can be that it was not deliberate. I do not think that it was deliberate.

    Why not?

Referees and panels look at the video and judge by what they see. It will always bring up anomalies and they are not able to say that something was deliberate. Foz does not do deliberate things like that and his whole career supports that. What the judges saw made them think it was a three game penalty punishment. I have seen 'certain' fouls where it turned out that there was no contact at all. The first camera angle convinced me that it was a foul. Other angles proved otherwise. I have been wrong about countless penalty decisions. I do not believe that Foz did whatever we saw deliberately. It does look very bad from the camera views which is all there was to go on.

  4. I think that Foz got the very least penalty that I would have given him. We have to protect standards in the game. Not really a great issue whether it was actually deliberate. More important that a realistic penalty was laid out because of how it looked imo.

You want a worst case scenario?

    • 12 points for admin
    • 12 points for '18 P&S plus 9 points aggravating factors
    • 12 points for '19 P&S plus 9 points aggravating factors
    • 12 points for '20 P&S plus 9 points aggravating factors

    75 points deducted.

So points do not mean prizes in this game. Take the nine and do a runner. We would then be six points adrift of fourth bottom. We can just scrape it. Long time since we had 75 points. COYR

They will do whatever the EFL need to do to bring DCFC to task. If we have indeed failed these regulations then we have no grounds for complaints. However if we are indeed compliant then we need to seek legal representation and take these imbeciles to task.
Don’t know about the rest of you but I am sick to death of this pantomime being played out, Particularly when we are being treated like mushrooms ???

Being treated like a mushroom is no fun gi at all.

  7. A simple uninformed guess at the impasse is - we have been offered a points deduction on the basis of agreeing to ..... . We don't agree with that so it just goes on and on. In the minds of the EFL we are therefore not co-operating. In the minds of our team, we are not being treated fairly, so it could just be a matter of principle. This would suggest that the case for giving us a points deduction is not quite strong enough and would only lead to further legal wranglings which neither side wants. Only a successful side will bring the fans back now but it has always been that way. COYR

All I want for Xmas is the embargo lifting.

It's hard to tell which ones would accept the wages we could offer, however a wide man or another centre foward would be the priority for me.

Hopefully players who really want to play football.

This could be our team in the not too distant future.

                              Roos

    Byrne       Jagielka    Davies   Buchanan

                      Knight.    Bird

           Jozwiak    Morrison   Sibley

                         Lawrence

Bench: Allsop, Forsyth, Shinnie, Baldock, Stearman, Stretton, Ebosele

    Keeper suspect.
Defence - Top half quality - Two top 6 level full backs, a top 6 centre back in Jags (still), Davies still solid at this level.

Midfield - Knight - international linked with prem move, Bird looking back to form he was in under Cocu when he was being linked with prem moves. Yes young but certainly top half standard, level could dip at times.

Forwards - Jozwiak - international and top 6 class, Lawrence - international and top 6 class, Sibley - top half minimum massive potential, Morrison - top 6 class minimum.

As for bench, both Shinnie and Fozzy solid at this level (the latter was outstanding on Saturday), Stearman still ok lower championship standard, as is Baldock. Stretton looks a serious talent and will get goals (only denied by good defending on Saturday and top class goal v Peterborough). Ebosele is electric.

And we’ve not even mentioned Bielik coming back!!!!

It really doesn’t look that bad to me. Add to that the way we’re now looking to play football on the front foot. We’ve created chances in most games, yes we need to start taking them but we’re only 5 games into working on a new style of play. Keep playing like this we will score goals.

It’s a lazy argument to say we scored 36 goals last season and we haven’t addressed it. There were many games last season where we created nothing. Im not seeing that so far this season.

We will know more after 10-12 games but we don’t look like relegation certainties (assuming no huge points deductions come our way), and at worst we have enough to get ourselves to the next transfer window still well in contention to survive and (hopefully) we will be able to actually operate in the transfer market by then should we need to.

I totally agree with you until it goes pear shaped for reasons that we have not seen coming.

  10. Is it really so difficult to end this embargo. If it was going to end up as a six point penalty we could have lived with it and signed some players and been taken over by now. I cannot think of any justifiable reason for not sorting it out and moving on, even after reading a lot of well informed posts by accounts experts. Is there another hidden 'advantage' for us not getting out of embargo other than not spending more money and still not being able to get a takeover done. Mystifies me why we have not resolved it as it seems to be entirely in our own interests to do so. It is surely better to be docked six points now rather than towards the end of the season when we would have less time to make up a shortfall. Some tough games coming up and a good few teams have really strengthened in this window. Warburton and Bowyer have clearly improved their teams. COYR
