What is the definition of Warneball?
Is what we're seeing on the pitch, the type of football PW, wants us to play? I know that ultimately, it's his responsibility for what happens on the pitch, but if you listen to his after match comments after a poor performance, he complains about the players aimlessly lumping the ball forward. He seems to be as unhappy with their style as we are.
From these comments, I would suggest that we are not yet playing the way he wants us to, but it's up to him and the coaching staff, to change that.

Actually, I think that you'll find that they are third tier players, they will be playing lg1 fixtures again this week, unfortunately. You're avoiding my point though with that list of players, I was talking about the goal kick situation with the CHs and the keeper, unfortunately the CHs and the keeper at LR's disposal last season were not comfortable or even capable of playing that tactic with any degree of success and LR stubbornly refused to accept it. I got to the stage where I was hoping that the ref gave a corner rather than a goal kick every time the ball went out.

I enjoy the theory of his style of play, although the practical application seems to be somewhat lacking ATM.
However, watching England yesterday, reminded me of watching Derby under LR. It was so slow, passing for the sake of it. For all the possession England created virtually nothing, with the goal coming from pure Warne ball, 50 yard diagonal long ball from by the half way line to a wide player, not unlike many balls from Cashin to NML. The most annoying aspect of LR ball was the ridiculous goal kicks from the CH to the keeper, inviting the opposing forwards to put us under pressure.

Ridiculous statement, Bolton had possession but they conceded a legitimate goal, cancelled out for a penalty they conceded, they then should have conceded another 2 penalties, all whilst having this wonderful possession of the ball.
For all of their wonderful possession, they were given a penalty for a foul outside the box and fluked a goal from a deflected cross. Had their player been actually inside the box, I don't think Smith would have risked lunging in, but he was outside the box and Smith was running across the face of the box and knew that any challenge would have been outside.
Only the impossible 100% possession definitely wins games.

Well, that reminded me what it was like watching LR's Derby. Pedestrian, but nevermind, England had 68% possession and twice as many passes, so it must have been entertaining.
I did see a bit of Warne ball though, Kane (Cashin) from just inside their half sprays a 50 yard diagonal pass (long ball) to our wide player Walker (NML), who runs on to it and scores our only goal.
Fortunately, we didn't have many goal kicks, otherwise we would have been in total panic, passing it around our own penalty area.

Depends on where that 71% is, not when it's across the back four like we used to have.
You refer to the Bolton game, they were given 1 penalty for an incident possibly outside the box, whereas we had 4 shouts, including 2 good ones not given. Also remember we had one man less for almost half the game, not a good game to use.

Also 2 of their players, one with a handball and one wrestling Bradley to the ground whilst not looking at the ball, gave the ref the much easier opportunity to make a good decision.

Do you not think that is mainly down to the restrictions that are in place. We haven't spent any money on transfer fee's for a few years now but I don't think that is really through choice more like a necessity.
Last year it looks liked the max we could offer was 2 years which is why at the end of this season we have so many out of contract, this was always going to happen unfortunately. We will have to see what our transfer activity is like next summer before we can judge Clowes and/or the current recruitment team.
I do however agree with the rest of your post. Our recent transfers from abroad have been shocking, I cant even remember our last good one? Bueno maybe?

Roy Mac life long legend at the club, player then manager and still frequenting PP for various events
Flew home from a skiing holiday one new years eve, only to find the house freezing cold because the boiler had packed up. left my wife and one son with a fan heater, jumped straight in the car to get to the match with my other 2 lads.
I seem to remember John Gregory getting clattered by the half way line at the BBG, nearly ending up in the dugout, he picked up the trainer's bucket which was next to him and emptied to contents over the player who had fouled him. He earned himself a booking for retaliation.
Favourite current ground is MK with the spacious comfortable seating and the massive number of away fans allowed. Back in the day I used to like the Hawthorns with seats along both sides and home terracing one end and away terracing the opposite end.
Proudest moment was being at PP when it was opened by our late Queen, the first ground to have that honour.
